Pelage? Pelage? pel·age n. 1. The coat of a mammal, consisting of hair, fur, wool, or other soft covering, as distinct from bare skin. 2. Something felt to resemble the coat of a mammal: “The hardwoods were a soft pale green in the dark pelage of the conifers†(Peter Matthiessen). Did you perhaps mean "Pillage"?

Some good stuff here. It's going to be a bit before I can run another roundup. I'm thinking Spring break (3-11 Apr). That should give death tribble plenty of time to bury us.

Re: Re: Re: Turn about question... Problem is, nothing you've stated about the character suggests anything but genie. Nothing. And the powers don't merely suggest it, but rather scream it. Were I you, I would invent a background story that contains material that suggests a name relevant to her personality or history while refuting everything about her appearance and powers. Let everyone else wonder why she calls herself Black Sky, Lady of Brass (though that one's drawn from D&D efreeti), or Burning Sunset.

Re: Turn about question... Jann, Genie, Djinn, Ifrit, Afrit, Dervish, Veil, Silk, Sabre, Desert Blade, Arabian Knight, Lady Veil, Desert Silk. Starting to reach here. A little more to go on would produce more suggestions. Fighting style, signature move, personality, Arabian or Persian ancestry, Muslim or pre-Muslim faith...

Roundup This is it for me for a while again. I've got two weeks to prep for my next certification now that I've taken a mental break this weekend. I'll check back in sometime in March. Edit: List deleted. Fresh roundup posted.

Thanks! I passed the cert (Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure), so consider yourself a successful good-luck-wisher.

Ah, good. The thread didn't die while I was out. I've got a certification test coming up next week, so I'm cramming full time right now. Once that's done, look for another round-up, likely on 2/15 (2/13 mother's bday, 2/14 Valentine's, 2/16 13th anniversary; yup, that's the day).

I'd prefer to wait to include previously published characters until their existence in the 5e continuity has been established. I've already included Harby because Steve doubtless understands that if Hudson City is published w/o the Blue Moon Killer, then he's in mortal danger. Oh, Grok sends a desperate plea for help says hi.

Roundup Just barely made 8k. A lot of death tribble's candidates got cut for lack of originality. I usually credit just about any claim of prior art or whatever, but dt outright admitted in several instances that he was drawing from previously published works that aren't part of the 5e continuity. Still no Grok tTMw/aZG. I've got him fetching coffee and pressing my pants. Edit: List deleted. Fresh roundup posted.

No sweat. For a while, I wondered how long it would be 'til everyone told me to get lost for being such a tyrant about sticking to genre and getting rid of stupid names. But aside from our British contingent (luv ya, guys), I haven't caught much flak.

Gimme everything you've got Thursday. I've got Friday and Saturday off this week, and I'm between cramming episodes (passed my Windows 2000 Server certification last week). I'll have the time review a list of hundreds, and I've already laid in a supply of European ales, so I won't be too harsh during the weeding-out process.

Mmmm... more names... closer and closer to 10K. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the roundups. I'm on an extremely aggressive schedule to complete my CCNA, MCSA, and MCSE certifications. I should find some time for a roundup this weekend. I'm going to need a break from my current cram phase.
  19. Re: I can;t help but ask.... To heck with that! I want a spell to turn frogs into princes. Glut the market! Drive down the market value of princes! Meanwhile, my carefully hoarded stockpile of frogs will skyrocket in value! Bwahahahahahahaha!!!! Entry #736 from Foxbat's Master Plan files
  20. I like Freestyle. Whether the Johnny part would be appropriate would depend on the character's personality, of which GrooveD70 gave us nothing to work with.
  21. Feel that d30 bounce off the back of your head? I threw that.
  22. Skyboard, Sticks, Thrash, Aeroskate, Xtreme, Tekstream, Boomstick, Impact. Have you checked out this thread? Go to the last page for a monster list of super names.
  23. Picked up my copy on Wednesday. This is one H3B (Honkin' Huge Hero Book). The one store in Tacoma that will stock Hero stuff only got one copy. They ordered four, but their distributor said the shipment from the printer was badly damaged, so they sent each ordering store one. SO I'VE GOT THE ONLY ONE!!! Well, OK, aside from those coming back from GenCon. And people driving up to King County. And mail orders. Nuts. I'm a DH subscriber, so I knew to expect much goodness, but my wife doesn't like reading on the screen, so she's totally blown away by FH. The Hero System intimidates her a little, but she's really enjoying the tremendous amount of non-system-specific material. She's just started her first D&D campaign as a GM, and she's taking lots of notes. Keep up books like this, and Hero Games might supplant SJGames as the premier publisher of supplements for people who don't play the core system.
