  1. The Amazon tablet uses it's own store. It does not have as many apps as an android tablet that has access to the Android store (though there is a hack that lets you get access to the Android store from an Amazon device. Note: the more memory you can get on the device the better. If it comes with 8gigs, even with a memory card, it's crap. If you get a tablet, make sure to get a good case. My mom has a 7" tablet and it is loaded up with games and has a large memory card loaded up too. Note the old saying "you get what you paid for".
  2. I don't know which game it started in, but quite some time ago one one of our GMs kept on saying the bad guys were in the Abandoned Warehouses. So we started calling it "The Abandoned Warehouse District". Of coarse there is the misspelling "The Abandoned Whorehouse District"
  3. I have a Mac Mini with Catalina. (Just for perspective) I too had problems (I wonder if you people have not solved this) I had this issue. I tried opening things from the download Folder...No. Other folder, No. So I moved it to the one place where things get installed. I put it in the Users folder under my name. I dropped Hero Designer in here. This is where the Music folder is at. From inside Hero Designer, I created a folder here and in THAT, I put any new characters that I created. I put pictures there too, since I could not access pictures from any other folder. (other than Hero Designer) This is what works for me. I hope this makes sense.
  4. We had a game way back when where the majority of the group was made of power gamers. The GM knew it. He worked around this "flaw". So one session he had the group make the best, most powerful characters they could within the parameters that were given. At the end of the night of character creation, he picked up those characters. (I'm not a power game, so my character was just so so) He announced. "These characters are your enemies for the next session. Please come to that game with your characters." Needless to say it was a slaughter. It was fun, but it was a slaughter. So Power gamers are good and bad. If you are not one of them you sometimes look at them with envy. I always wondered how they created so much with so little. I just created my characters.
  5. If you are playing an English game, play a character that is Spanish or German or Russian or just not English. Take any of the above words and translate them to something that sounds cool looking and sounding and make your character a little more different. Your character has a much older Fey name when you come from the OLD country.
  6. Back in the 90's, when my group would play the game where ever we could, it was tough to roll 12 to 15d6 on a McDonald's table. I came to the rescue with a little program called Diceroll.exe (at least I think that was the one). It printed a chart on an 8.5 x 11 sheet that had a percentile to roll instead of the die sixes. It listed Body and Stun for 1d6 for I think up to 30d6. I still have the program, but I need a computer with DOS. I don't have one and even if I did, I'm not sure it would connect to a USB printer. (Serial Ports and all) Players would probably find Hero Systems Mobile. From that they can just tap the button on the screen. Yet. Nothing beats rolling dice. I have looked online for something that would create a Body/stun table but haven't found anything. My only other thought is an Excel sheet (I am using Open office/Libra Office) and I figure something like a spreadsheet could do the same thing. I would rather have something that creates a print out like what I used from before. Any ideas? Thanks.
