Re: Working on my Home Grown Campaign: Fantasy Hero game
Actually I do not have that book yet, one of the few actually. Thus when I get the chance to I will try to buy a copy of the HC Fantasy Hero, as well as both Asian Beastiary I and II. I also want to get the Character Creation handbook, plus Cops,Crews and Cabals too. Once I obtain these books then I will have all the Hero's books out for v5. Then as a new book comes out I will buy it to add to my resource library.
I started collecting everything for my son because he runs a Champions and Dark Champions based campaign. I then discovered Fantasy Hero products, and bought that plus Star Hero stuff, along with PAH, Ninja Hero, and the new Traveller Hero. Now that D&D v3.5 is going to v4.0 I am done with D&D and wil be converting my D&D v3.5, Traveller d20, and Gamma World d20 all to the Hero System. I have collected Hero's System off and on from back to Champions v2. Now that my three games can all use one system, I am extremely happy and will begin the massive rebuild/rework/conversions process. Thus I need to have everything I can get in my resource library to help my cause and serve as a reference point for me.

Re: Working on my Home Grown Campaign: Fantasy Hero game
Also note that in D&D terms they were a 3+3HD creature thus 6-27 Hit Points at first level and had levels like PCs do and each level they gained a d8+1 in HPs. I understand that might not be understood by Non-D&D players but the rest that have played will get my meaning. Also there birth spell like power was like a first level spell that gained in power as they gained levels over time.

Hello everyone,
Ok recap, I am taking a 25+ yr D&D campaign and converting it from D&D v3.5 to Fantasy Hero v5.
So I am trying to work on races currently, and would like to ask for some help from the collective here. In my campaign "Elves" are a Non-Player race and I consider them to be Fae. They are different than standard Elves of D&D so they really exist both in Farie Realm and the mudane Realm too.
So to replace Elves, I created another race called "Truff'Tierri". They are the first race that was Mortal and had a Soul, that actually worshiped a God. They perfer to live in deep forests or high mountains away from humans and other humanoids. Physically speaking they are slightly taller than the average human (male or female) and are very strong and hardy a race. They also have like a 200 yr lifespan and have a low birthrate, thus there are not alot of them. Despite all that they excell at warfare and fighting and they all seem to have some minor magical talents that seem to varry from each one.
Now I have found some figures by "Dark Age" figures that fit my idea for the race perfectly and here are some .jpg's for some of them. I will be using the weapon types as seen in these pics and tailer/rework this race to fit the feel and character of the figures/pics:
Male Truff'Tierri:
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Greatswordsmen.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Doublebladesmen.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Crossbowmen.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Greataxemen.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Doubleswordsmen.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Shieldswordsmen.jpg
Female Truff'Tierri:
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Bladetempestmaiden.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Doublebladesmaiden.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Doublebladesmaiden2.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Fandancermaiden.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Ringblademaiden.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Sworddancermaiden.jpg
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/pennshome723/Trufftierri_Wailingwhipmaiden.jpg
Thus my design style is based on looking at a picture first and then tailor the design to fit the picture and then warp the design to fit the game play idea concept for the creature/being. So what i am looking for is some ideas of how to build these beings/race so I can get a feel how best to convert or build the rest of my unique races that I have in my own home grown fantasy campaign.
I beg your assistance in this matter for a starting conversion project so I can get a better understanding and plus one!

Re: My mostly hard sci-fi campaign
Hey if you like, have a look at the ships from Babylon 5 A Call to Arms:

There are alot of cool gaming minatures there!

Re: My mostly hard sci-fi campaign
You know I always liked the show called Earth II. It had great potential for a campaign if say the Colony ship was sent by a company and actually landed safe and sound. Set up shop and the player PCs were a scouting team searching the planet and surrounding solar system.

Re: 6th Edition Hero System
As with all things, time brings changes. I for one leaving D&Dv3.5 for Hero's v5...main reason is I refuse to buy another version of D&D v4. With Fantasy Hero, I can convert my D&D campaign over. Also add in Traveller/Star Hero, I can convert my Traveller campaign too. I hope and pray that the Hero System doesn't come up with a Hero v6, and then makes it so all earlier systems books are useless. If that were to happen, I might just quit gaming!

Re: My mostly hard sci-fi campaign
Awesome job so far TKDGUY...
I had a thought for Mars, you could have them working on trying to terra-form Mars collectively. You might work out a number of things that each colony is doing to help the process along. I like to think that the water on Mars is frozen or deep in the planet in caverns and etc. Maybe they are able to add to the atmospher and get more water in the air and increase the planets temperature. Maybe they were able to alter some type of plant that they have seeded on the Mar's surface that has managed to survive and begin to spread.

Re: [Campaign Design] Starting Small...
Look the best way to make everyone happy is be upfront and honest with your players and
tell them what you are planning in the scope of the campaign. If someone doesn't want to
play then for yourself and the willing players cut them free and get another player to fill
the gap if you need one.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Hero
My only problem with the BG game is that they want to put out materials based off
the show. Well season 1 was ok, and 1.5 was ok too, the rest was far to Soap based
for my taste. Plus the shows last season is this next season. Also the company is
supposed to put out 6 products for the line. If they do put all 6 out, my guess is there
will not be anymore than that.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Hero
It would be cool to convert Battlestar Galatica into the Traveller Hero system!

Hello everyone,
Ok the core rule book for Battlestar Galactica is out and for sale here:
http://www.frpgames.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=34228
Now I like the new show but I will say that there is far to much
Soap (style stuff) and not enough true SciFi for my taste. I also
liked the Old Show and don't care for some of the changes that
the new Show made like the Cylons and various characters
and etc. Oh well as a GM I can change the campaign to meet
my own feelings and desirers.
Now I did for a while run a Traveller system (d20) Batllestar Galactica
based campaign in my own version of their space. In my own home
grown campaign, my players were members of the 102 Battle Group.
It consisted of the Battlestar Oracle, Heavy Cruiser Promethious, the
Cruiser Minatour, (2) Destroyers, (2) Armed Troop Transports, (10)
Armed Cargo Transports, (1) Fueler, and (1) Mini Repairer. These
ships made up a resupply battlegroup, and they did not have the
upgraded software yet so they were 100% effective against the
Cylons. They also did not have any Cylons in their BG 102 either.
So after the attack, they started to pickup civillians and other
rescue some of the other Colonial Fleet support vessels and
started going to different battle areas and rescued stranded
Viper pilots and their Vipers, plus anyone else they could find. Now
they were able to fight off any Cylon attack, and were able to
rescue a few virus infected vessels.
Now they know that the Battlestar Galactica survived, and tried
to hook up with them at their mobilization point but arrive to late
to connect but intime to save many of the civilian fleet. The managed
to collect a few more Jump capable civilian vessels, and manged to
drag out of moth balls another (12) Armed Troop Transports, and
(16) more Armed Cargo transports and staffed them with many of
the civilian crews and rescued Colonial Fleet personel. Furthermore
they found the small civilian fleet that was stripped by Cain and
the Battlestar Pegasus too and merged them into their fleet as well
too. Thus after a while this new RTF jumped out of Colonail Space
and went off in their own direction(not in the direction of Earth)
to find a new beginning elsewhere in space.
The campaign lasted for slightly less than two years , and the players
made up a Scouting team aboard a Colonial Scout that had a (55)
crew, that was assigned to scouting duty. At the end of the campaign
the players were incharge of the vessel, and had located a planet
that a race that was in space but did not have Jump tech yet. The
players were working out a deal for them giving them the tech for
Jump and weapons and stystems, the Aliens would service, and
resupply the Colonials so they could continue on to find another
world to settle

Re: Star Hero/Traveller Hero star map request:
Both of you, thank you so very much!!!

Hello everyone,
I got my copy of PAH yesturday and read it from cover to cover:thumbup:!!!
Now I am awaiting the arrivial of Book One and Two of Traveller Hero
next:D.
So I have decided to combine my idea of PAH (Gamma World) and
Traveller/Star Hero together. I need to ask for a realistic resource
of star located around the Sol (Earth system). I am looking for real
systems locations star charts. Does anyone have good reference
to point to for me. I can not find my stuff for Traveller 2300 for some
reason.
Requesting help my friends:
My campaign idea is the following:
Players will be created as 100/ +100 dis's from a Star/Traveller Hero.
The PCs will not have access to FTL/Jump drives but rather will have
embarked on a Cryo Sleeper explorer to a nearby solar system. While
in flight they were awakened as the ship suffered some damage, AND
that meant that the trip was going to take alot longer to reach their
destination system than was planned. It was decided to continue on
to their destination system instead of heading back home. Now while
their long sleep happened mankind discovered "Fold Engines" and
that made travel between solar systems extremely fast. So by the
time the PC's reach their destination system, mankind has already
bin there for years and set up a colony in the system BUT PAH had
happened and so starts the campaign.

Re: New to Fantasy Hero
Hi there,
Ok I have all the books and know the Hero's systems "ok" but I have
to convert my D&D campaign over to the Fantasy Hero's system
Now the books you might want are:
- Hero System: Fantasy Hero (this is the main book and you want
the HC version of it when it comes out shortly)
Some good resource for FH books are:
- FH - Nobles, Knights & Necromancer
- HS - Enchanted Items
- HS - Fantasy Hero Battlegrounds
- HS - Fantasy Hero Grimoire
- HS - Monsters, Minion, Marauders
Also some examples of Fantasy Hero settings:
- HS - FH The Valdorian Age
- HS - FH The Turakian Age
- HS - Tuala Morn
Also when it comes out here soon:
- FH - The Celtic Bestary
I should also point out there are two other books set in the Asian
setting that I don't want but they are:
FH - Asian Bestary I& II
Also some othere good Hero books to have might be:
- HS - 5th Edition Revised HC
- HS - Combat Handbook
- HS - Besiary
For more magic resource books I might point too these:
- HS - The Ultimate Mystic
- HS - Arcane Adversaries
- HS - Champions Demon Servants of Darkness
- HS - The Mystic World
Plus many other Hero System (HS) books can add something
to the game mechanics for you that you can include somewhere
along the way for the mechanics. The rest is just story telling and
writing on your part to create a campaign for your players to
play in.
There are many online resources as well too... I will be using
them myself as I too go through the design and redesign
process to recreate my campaign using the Hero System.

Re: Star Hero:?
Steve,
I am only speaking as a player that has bought the first version of Star Hero (1st printing)
and has rebought everything that is out in print for SH, plus as a GM whom has played
Traveller for years and now converting my own campaign to Traveller Hero/Star Hero
based with my own home grown setting to use. Thus speaking for myself only then, I
would buy anything else that comes out for SH. I hope with TH now out there, that it
will help spur more support for each other. Also after reading your post, it is my view
of your comments that Star Hero is being left out on the vine to see if it withers and
falls off or somehow though "magic" sprouts and grows some more. I am sorry if I sound
kinda of negative, but it looks like Star hero is on it's way out to me then. I hate to see
good ideas die is all.

Sorry guys, I meant "creator" NOT "creature"!!! I corrected/edit my post, I'm bad

things at work, that are not for work!

Re: Who's run The Savage Earth?
Hello there,
I went to the web site and poked around and read a few spot things...it is a pretty
good read for a campaign setting. Get the creator to submit it to Hero's and try to
get it published as a campaign setting for PAH, it would be a great place to GM and
play within.

Re: Yet Another PA Campaign Idea
Could you say there were massive solar flar activity from our sun and the Earth
was hit by these waves that acted like EMP pulses and knocked out all electrical
equipment. Plus over the next couple months the Earth kept being hit by these
solar pulses and almost all electrical hardware was fused and destroyed.
You could also state that these solar pulses also brought a strange radiation
that cause many people to get sick and coupled with a loss of all or electrical
tools and the radiation that many people died. Those that survived were the
stronger folks and some were changed at the gene level. Then as time moved
on the new children born to man, most were normal but sum were mutants.

[PA Hero] Limited Nuclear War Not So Good

Re: [PA Hero] Limited Nuclear War Not So Good
Ok following with what the article had to say, much of the 3world nations would either starve to death or tear themselves apart to try to get what others had. Now places like Europe, UK, Cananda, and the US would have shortages, but would become safe zones and their millitarys would mobilize to guard their boarders and maintain the peace. Life would be a struggle but it would basically go on.
