    I can speak for the two Traveller New Era 1248 books, and they are a great new start

    for Traveller and I believe for a new player to the Traveller setting they are a perfect

    place to start from. The two books give you a pretty good starting point and allows you

    the GM to build stuff as you want in the setting.

    Well I have done my part lately, for my son I have bought almost

    everything out there Hero for v5 for Champions, Dark Champions,

    Fantasy , and Star Hero. Now I am awaiting a copy of Ninja , and

    PAH as well as the new The Ultimate Energy Projector enroute via

    UPS mail to me now. Also I just purchased both HT books from

    ComStar games today online and they will also be sent to me via

    mail in a few days now. I am doing my part to buy it all!

     

    I am not too sure about that Pulp Hero stuff though, Isn't that

    WWII era stuff? I would like to buy another copy of Fantasy Hero

    and I guess from what I have read I should go after a HC version.

    A APH setting locked in a TH setting would be awesome....a Amber or

    Red Zone maybe. There are many different plot lines that you could

    define and run in those settings!

    How about coming up with a root of some extremely hard to find plant, if cut just right

    seems to be alive and if the pulp is oozed into the wound that is heals 1d3 damage in

    the first 12 hrs and +1 pt of damage for each (period) defined there after plus natural

    bodies healing added in as well.

    Well the more material that is created for SH the bigger the profit

    share will be for it, and the stronger the demand will become. With

    the creation of TH I am hoping both settings will feed off each other.

    Hey at my gaming table, it has always been the DM/GM has the final rulling on any rule!

    A player may disagree and I will allow him to plead his case, and I will review the rules

    and listen to the players request. In the end it is up for me to decide how I want to play

    it and for me I am lucky because my players are all DM/GMs themselves and will play

    with my final choise on the rule!

    For over 25+ yrs I have based my pure Traveller campaigns out of the

    Verge sector, and the dates in game have ranged from 1109 till 1125.

    I have my players working as "Trouble Shooters" for Pell Corp. They

    start the game as already working for Pell Corp, and on their last

    mission (Pre game start) they were involved in hunting down a group

    of smugglers/pirates. They accomplished their task and part of their

    spoils from that mission was a 400 ton Far Trader which the group

    got to keep. It needed some repairs and some maintance, but it was

    still space worthy. Now the team (5 PCs and 2 NPCs) were a crew

    with something to call their own and something of a credit pit...LOL!!!

     

    BTW the ship was heavily modified...and her name was "StarScream"!

    You scream, they scream, we all scream for "StarScream"!!!

    Speaking for myself, and 30+ yr Traveller player/GM I like the New Era

    of 1248 by Comstar Games. Now my own campaigns over the years

    have ranged from 1109 till 1125 eras.

     

    Now I think that 1248, is well set in a great bit of history and a perect

    starting up place for the Traveller game.

     

    Ok so what would I like to see next, well what about a Startup

    starting point? Have someone create a single system, and work it

    up completely. Define a single system with all it's orbits and what

    is found there. Further develope the main home world in that system

    that the players can come from. Design a complete culture with

    it's history, then develope the world and starport along with other

    details of why this world and system are unique. Maybe have both

    Humans and Dryone in the system together as the two races, and

    explian why and how they made it back into the stars after the

    great collapse and etc.

     

    Spin a couple of different subplots as well going on and give clues

    to some others that are left for GMs to add to and expand on if they

    wish to. Also maybe give a small star maps and give some basic

    information on the neighboring systems. Maybe define some plots

    that might be happening in each of the other systems as well and

    have the players be on a exploration mission and etc.

    A Demon is a being that was created by the "Lords of Darkness" and they are Immortals

    with ability and powers drawn from the Weave itself. Daemons are being that once lived

    and have a Soul that defines its ability and power, vastly limited compaired to a Demon

    but far greater than most living mortals. Also Daemons were never human, they were

    other older races that walked the world and worshiped the Lords of Darkness, and are

    all gone now. Also Angels were beings that were created by the "Lords of Light" and

    are Immortals with abilities and powers drawn from the Weave of the world as well to.

    Comstar games are the same guys that have written the new era 1248

    AND produced Traveller Hero. I like the new era setting alot and believe

    all four books would be a great buy for anyone. I own the two new era

    books myself and will order the TH books this weekend myself!

    Hey there Ringer,

     

    go to ComStar Games site,

     

     

    they have two books out for Traveller 1248 and they are pretty good

     

    Out of the Darkness - Traveller 1248 Sourcebook 1

    Bearers of the Flame - Traveller 1248 Sourcebook 2

     

    Both books are a pretty good read and it sets a great setting for

    you and gives lots of historic details. I like the history they cam up with

    very much.

  12. Re: Damage for lightsabers

     

    The Light Sabre is a pretty nasty weapon, even to those that might

    use it themselves. One mistake and you could have a major issue.

     

    I have always like Vibro Blades myself, much more realistic to me

    and one could handle them much the same way. I will not allow

    lightsabers in my Traveller hero game.
