  1. I agree and it is similar to Wilt Chamberlain's entry into the NBA. Not only was he bigger then all but a few players, he was athletic too. If he came into the league now, he would still be a very good center, but not the unstoppable force he was. My comment was that there were a few, very few, RBs who sort of mimicked what you were saying about size and speed. No argument there. And I liked him in the movies too and enjoyed the comedic turn he took in I'm Gonna Git Ya Sucka (a movie I will still watch if I catch it on as everyone in it is a blast and clearly having fun)later on.
  2. To really rub it in, it should have said only appears in 1 hacker's database.
  3. Eric Dickerson and Herschel Walker come to mind, but yes. and Brown did it in fewer years then most of them do it. He left the NFL for movies while still arguably the best in the league. Recently, maybe Derrick Henry, but Earl Campbell references might be more apt. My brother saw an interview with a DB asked how he would tackle Henry. His answer - be the 2nd guy to hit him.
  4. Just look at how long it has taken Rugby 7s to truly be recognized, though i would say it is a much more enjoyable version to watch. 15s are just too crowded.
  5. I agree that the Golden Goal should be used, because in a game that goals are at such a premium, to do 2 15 minute periods, regardless of whether one team scores or not is just insane. how many extra time games have we seen where one team scores in first OT and then has to hold on for 20+ minutes.
  6. As an aside on the Hawkeye show (wish I had the internet data limit to watch), one thing that struck me as funny. Multiple times, Jeremy Renner has played the "NEXT" guy taking over a series - Mission Impossible until Tom decided to stay (Ghost Protocol was supposed to be his introduction), Bourne Legacy as the guy to carry the franchise forward until they resigned Matt, and now he is being replaced by a teenage girl. I mean, in some ways, ya gotta feel for the guy.
  7. Finally saw New Mutants. Not as bad as people made it out to be. Thought the team characters were pretty good, actually. The villain makes more sense when you realize is the same corporation that had been behind the bad guys in Deadpool 2 and the X-Movies. Kind of sorry we wouldn't see more with these actors/characters. Probably would have made a better series then movie, though, especially as, I believe, the biggest name in it was Maisie Williams.
  8. If that is the one with Roddy McDowell, always liked it. and the way he gets him to break down at end is pure Colombo brutal genius.
  9. I would say one problem for writers of comics, especially when doing a known character (won't get into needing to retire characters and create new OR do legacies) is that most the stories have been done before, so now you have to do a new version of a story or slant, usually becoming edgier. Once The Killing Joke was done (being perhaps one of the most famous) then what are you going to have Joker do to Batman that is worse?
  10. I kept joking with my brother in this game and another that when the QB takes the ball, shouldn't the closest people to him be his own team.
  11. I would point out that Ridley Scott did Prometheus, which is an Alien series film and is HORRIBLE, with stupidity spread throughout since without said stupidity, the movie wouldn't exist.
  12. I hope that when I finally choke to death on Gummies that my obituary will just say killed by bears.
  13. I wonder if part of Eternals might not be setting up Galactus as a villain, a great way to bring in the FF.
  14. First thing they need to announce in the planning meetings for FF and X-Men is we are not doing Doctor Doom and we are not doing Magneto and the Brotherhood. Do a decent version of some other villains. I wouldnt mind, given Marvel's multi-arc style, to see X-Men have a hellfire club in background thing of one or two movies. But I suspect what we will get is them using the Spider-Man and Doctor Strange movies to bring in the last versions of both sets, the younger versions.
  15. one other difference, Atlanta and Reeves (his former head coach) went in saying we will make Elway beat us - He did, which is why he was named MVP if IIRC.
  16. I actually think, due to the early critic reviews, Eternals will be helped by word of mouth, if given the time. Most of us who have seen it have come here and said we liked it, which, it seems, may have changed some opinions on seeing it.
  17. I am really hoping it gets the Titans treatment and S1 appears on TNT this year.
  18. Other question, with OBJs ego, are there enough footballs for Stafford to throw. Far as I remember, they only get 1 at a time, but maybe they will change the rules for them. One of the things with the Rams is they expect their WRs to block, and Woods and Kupp are good at it. Will OBJ be willing to do so?
  19. I would point out she was beautiful with nothing on, so they were obviously right🙄
  20. ARRRRRGGGHHHH. I am a Rams fan, I was saying Raiders shouldn't get him for my brother and because they don't need the headache. And sadly, he is being rewarded for being a jerk.
  21. I would say that Ikaris, Phastos and Ajak all had changes to their belief system, as it was presented, though Ikaris came late. I would also say that upon learning the major reveal of the movie, they all had moral choices to make, some moreso then others. I would say all ended up going with their personality as it was presented, which is not bad. We don't say Steve Rogers didnt have a interesting character arc because he ALWAYS stuck to what he believed was right. Again, if you haven't seen it, it would be tough to explain. Granted Gilgamesh and Thena had interesting characters but not so much an arc. At the center of the movie, it really is about Sersi, Ikaris and Sprite. The others are support, but all have their ingrained personality and beliefs and stick with them. I say all that while trying not to give away the movie. It is better then people are saying. I did not find it boring, as I thought there was enough action along the way and I found the characters interesting for the most part.
  22. Just got back from it and I would agree with everything written here. I felt, as the movie got further in, that we got a better Justice League movie (especially if you take the similarities to some of the characters - Ikarus - Superman, Phastos - Batman (with higher tech), Gilgamesh - sort of Aquaman, Thena - Wonder Woman, Makkari - Flash). and despite not being 4 hours (needed per Snyder, still haven't seen his version), I would say you got some pretty good character development. At least I, who never read Eternals, understood each ones character pretty well. In the end, the whole movie is about varying degrees of Love and loyalty.
  23. I once had that light on (apparently the break hose had develped a hole and the resulting fluid spray had hit a spark plug or something). I calmly shut the hood, walked into the bank i was parked near, asked the first employee if they had a fire extinguisher? She looked at me like I was crazy, so I calmly said my car is on fire and I need an extinguisher. She gave me one, but the fire was out by the time I got back so I walked back in and handed her the extinguisher.
  24. What came out of today drives my brother crazy. after trailing 27-0 or 30-0 with half a quarter left in game, Prescott leads 2 drives to scores. So instead of the pathetic stats he had for 3 and a 1/2 quarters, he got a lot of yards when you know Denver is basically playing prevent. Now, in a few weeks, people will only look at the score and claim, well, wasn't Dak's fault, he had a decent game.
