  1. I enjoyed every movie mentioned and if on tv often will stop and watch them.
  2. says she is 5'3". Go watch the series Alcatraz. she looks smaller.
  3. One advantage to living in a small town and not having to work during day, I tend to go to early afternoon weekday showings on non discount days. So most showings I go to have less then 10 people in the theater, and spread out enough that no one bothers each other.
  4. iirc, Dresden Files was also another of the shows that was done out of order too. Part of the problem, and I don't blame them, but Dresden's books didnt really settle in until the 3rd or so. It was a show that would have needed time and word of mouth to get going. I would love to see someone do it now, especially as the series has enough popularity to possibly be done right, along with the advances in filming technology. I thought they should have cast Sarah Jones as Murphy: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1967673/
  5. On a side, I see Titans is coming to TNT, for those like me who were not going to pay WB to watch any of their stuff.
  6. MLB has talked about that the Yankees were built badly. Too much emphasis on the 3 pure results (strikeouts/walks/HRs). They have to many DHs or players playing out of position (their defense is one of the worst, as opposed to TB, who I think is best - look at the standings and see which works better. Stanton apparently cannot play the field and stay healthy. Sanchez went from an average catcher with offense to a bad catcher with offense, sometimes. The Angels broadcasters talked about him probably losing strike calls with his over-exaggerated pull to the strike zone pitch framing (their belief is that if a catcher moves his glove, then he is saying it was a ball, so call it. the best pitch framers don't move their glove, but catch the ball in a way that most the glove is in the strike zone, so may get a few calls). Beyond Cole, the pitching has been bad at best and they have had to wear out a pretty good bullpen. and now, there will be a lot of questions about Chapman and whether he was using gorilla glue (or whatever they call it).
  7. My brother was positive that they would call that game after the top half of fifth with the 2nd rain delay, so the Yankees could win (he is a big believer in conspiracy). They didn't, so now, given game didn't finish until 1am east coast time, a lot of Yankee fans had their breakfast ruined as they found out what happened. I agree, and truthfully, I think the Angels would like to not have him hit on those days, but with Trout and Upton out, they basically can't afford to miss him in the lineup.
  8. Ok, that was my second thought. Either way, I would agree they are the Mount Rushmore of the monsters.
  9. It was the Orioles I was thinking of. Didnt know they had won.
  10. Which apparently has a chance to be broken in the next week or so by Colorado(?)
  11. Rumor is, and stop me if you heard this before about a DC movie, that early reviews are ripping it so much, there is a lot of reshoots going on.
  12. As an Angel fan, I feel their pain.
  13. Watched Tenet the other night with my wife. Will have to watch again. Another good Nolan film, and I will say, don't be trying to do anything else while watching, you will miss stuff.
  14. Which is still better then Eragon, where I am pretty sure the writers only talked to someone who had read the Cliff Notes.
  15. Given they hired James Gunn, the guy who did GOTG, I don't find this surprising. I agree on not using Starro, but oh well. Looks fun, and i still like Robbie as Harley.
  16. Final Wars just felt like Godzilla meets the Power Rangers. And the bad guy's reactions evertime Big G defeats the other monsters makes me laugh, since it is so over the top spoiled brat.
  17. So, if DeGrom continues with whatever seems to be physically bothering him but continues to put up numbers, but keeps coming out of games early and doesn't make the "minimum" innings thing, do they still give him the cy young? he is borderline on innings right now.
  18. The MVP race between him and Vlad Jr. is great argument. Triple crown vs a guy with same HRs but pitches like he does. Ohtani wouldnt be MVP on either side of the ball, but his combination makes it a great argument. Remember, one of Trout's MVP losses was when Cabrera had Triple Crown even though many argued Trout had a better year. Now if only Rendon would remember how to stay healthy and hit. And if any of their relief guys could not walk the first guy when they come in.
  19. Back in the day when my brother was in a history class, the teacher was showing various items, one was a picture from ancient roman coliseum, like a promotional poster showing humans fighting a lion, a bear and an ostrich. My brother jokingly commented that he would take the ostrich. A girl in the class piped up that they can be very dangerous. He looked at her and said Bear or Lion or something with a 3 foot neck and me with a 3 foot sword, I'll take my chances.
  20. which one is for bodies? ... what, asking for a friend.
  21. Ok, it's been a while since I read the books, but where did that come from? One of the books specifically deals with the creation of Narnia and the talking animals (the Magicians Nephew) and I don't remember her being in it and The Last Battle is the end of Narnia.
  22. In some ways I sort of forgive D'backs, though not much. losing 4 of your 5 starters is brutal, but then, they were under 500 when they had them.
