I thought, when they showed the flashbacks of Carol in movie she did seem to be enjoying herself and having fun, especially with her friend. Her time with the Kree was spent being beaten down and told to control her emotions, constantly, because they knew that she had this power and were afraid of it. As for Maverick, saving everyone doing what everyone the whole time said he was best at, did not make him no longer a jerk. The fact we don't really see him after that point, iirc as has been awhile since I saw movie, does not show a change in him, other then the feeling of loss he had for his friend dying.

Besides scripts, which were bad, the other problem Dalton had (and he, like Craig really played a lot closer to the personality of the books Bond), was that after Moore, there was a big hype over the potential casting of Brosnan, coming off a successful run on Remington Steele, being cast as Bond. Then, because of the hype, the RS showrunners decided to renew for another season blocking Pierce from actually playing Bond. I liked Brosnan as Bond and would love to have seen him start that run 8 years younger, like it appeared he would. On the other hand, the scripts were so bad that it may have been better for him to wait until Goldeneye.

Finally got around to seeing in theaters this week: Godzilla vs Kong: enjoyed it a lot. Was disappointed in the Doctor Russell character - the man who originally left Monarch and was a bit paranoid and an expert on Godzilla in the previous movie, but who completely disregarded the logic of "Why is he attacking this one spot, when he hasn't attacked anywhere else" argument. Also, as a low level thing, why wasn't the Kong/Godzilla/Mechagodzilla fight in Tokyo? I am sure there is a reason, but cmon. I also was struck by how well they avoided, in the trailers, any showing of MechaG. I knew ahead of time because I read spoilers, but still, I am impressed. I had no problem with who really was the winner in all of it. Mortal Kombat: Decent take on the games. New character to build on instead of Liu Kang, though he was there also. Enjoyed the fights.

If Shang Chi can, at least, bring us a level of martial arts seen in Mortal Kombat, it will be fine. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind seeing them adapt some of the stuff from Iron Fists run a while back of the 7 cities tournament, where every move had some cool name and was unique to the style (harkening back to the 60-70s wushu films of cobra or eagle or crane styles, only more exotic). To me, John Wick movies are the first to actually do a first person shooter video game movie like a game. The fact its not based on one is irrelevant. How many movies have we seen that were based on first person shooters (Doom or Max Payne) that didn't actually do the first person shooter part.

Black Widow should be a spy movie variant. She is a spy and was raised to be a spy (very similar to what was done in Red Sparrow or Atomic Blonde). Looking forward to this. I also think Marvel has earned a level of trust. You say their movies have gone off track, but I am not sure I agree. Totally agree with all these points.

Thanks. I had understood he was a construct, but I didn't know if he was fully created by her or just animated. And I suspect that they are planning on dealing with the whole timeline thing in Phase 4, especially when you figure Spiderman - No Way Home, Antman and Wasp - Quantumania and Dr. Strange - into the Multiverse. I also suspect that the eternals will be a result of the changed timeline (perhaps they will make them the embodiments of the Stones, reconstituted in living beings, would be an interesting take and explain where they were when Thanos was snapping the universe).

Hence my question. In Wandavision, did Vision have a non Wanda created Mindstone, or was it missing? I wish they had kept Strange showing up, if for no other reason to ask Wanda for help with the multiverse stuff, and we could see if the Eye still had his. Like I said, I know Thanos believed he could use their own power to destroy them, but I wonder if it didnt just send their energies out into the universe, where they will just reconstitute themselves where needed, including Vision's head and The Eye of Agomotto. So, to me, the only time paradox, provided Steve really put them all back correctly, is Past Thanos perishing before he collected them. That is what I would have expected to split the trousers.

Actually, the implication of Cap returning the stones was that they were then available for Thanos to find/steal and ultimately destroy, hence why they had to go back to the past to retrieve them, use them and replace them, to keep the timeline basically intact. So, following that, the stones are still destroyed, provided they can be, and I can see an argument that their energy was merely scattered and would regenerate themselves until next time. I did not see Wandavision, but did Vision have the mind stone (and I don't mean did Wanda create a version of it)?

She was also really unhappy with how Patty Jenkins was removed from directing after Natalie specifically asked for her, iirc. Patty has since come out and said it was the right move and the story she had in mind for Thor2 was the one she redid for WW, where it worked really well.

Thor was shown to be traveling with them at the end of endgame. Perhaps he is taking the mantle of Odin, so a new Thor is needed.

Not to mention that Doom is FF based and known for that, even before the movies ruined him. Zemo is, in the comics world, a long time enemy of Cap. Why wouldn't you use what was already developed. Granted, I had no chance to see the series, but would be great if they used the series (though given most series predilection for killing villains, unlikely) to setup the Masters of Evil.

The thing that annoys me is that DC had been well on their way to doing a good job of the Legacy thing. Kyle had replaced Hal, with some really good stories. Wally had replaced Barry. Roy had replaced Oliver. They didnt replace the "big 3" though Dick could have replaced Bruce and they had replaced the Robins. Barring her retro'd screwed up history, Donna could have replaced Diana at some point, but wasn't needed as both Diana and Superman were long lived. As mentioned above, Atom and Blue Beetle had been replaced pretty well. Then writers decided they wanted to do Hal, Oliver and Barry stories, so they were brought back. In bringing back Oliver, they even played on it where he was in the JL satellite and Kyle and Wally were there and he was asking if everyone was replaced. If this was some alternate universe or something.

My brother was watching one of LSU's softball games and got annoyed with the substitution rules. Apparently, in the game he watched they were the visiting team, their starting 3 outfielders all batted in the first inning. then all 3were taken out for defensive replacements. 2 innings later, one is put back in to hit, an inning later the other 2 would bat, so take the subs out, put the starters back in. so in a total of 6 innings, those 3 hitters had 11 at bats and played a combined 5 innings of defense (that is combined out of 18 possible) and only 1 inning together (which would count for 3 of those, and the other 2 played together one inning). So really, what you had was 3 DHs for the defensive outfielders, as the 3 girls were all subbed out for the 6th and 7th. If I were the 3 defensive girls, I would be annoyed that you thought so little of my offense you wouldn't let me hit.

hmm, where does Trout and his 10 avg WAR go. I once heard the announcers from Oakland ask if there was a league he could move up to now so he would stop playing them. He may have to take Ohtani with him, who, mostly healthy now, is much watch baseball, maybe more then anyone else. He is outshining Trout, who may be having his best year ever.
