  1. Last night, Shohei Ohtani bunted against the shift as a leadoff man late in the game. My brother thinks he should do it as their leadoff guy everygame. His speed plays and distracts pitchers and catchers from batters - who normally would be Mike Trout (arguably the best player in baseball), Anthony Rendon and Jared Walsh (both all stars). I remember David Ortiz doing it.
  2. We used to joke that the game you GM'd was the game you wanted to play ruined by players who seemed to want to play their game.
  3. I really hope the STarlord/Thor who has the biggest junk ends quickly. I am not really a fan of Thor as a member of the GOTG.
  4. Tjack, I believe they are suggesting YOU are old enough to be a grandparent now. I know, truth hurts. we all know we are still the same age we were then.
  5. seems like it would work to remove any demon from someone.
  6. He will always be the representative of Penguin to me. Sadly, I think Danny DeVito could have pulled off a good Penguin if Burton hadn't decided to make him a disgusting gross version.
  7. Should have painted it with Kryptonian colors, dropped a baby bottle with green liquid and had half a baby blanket sticking out and really made people wonder.
  8. Sometimes, reading Spence's recap of movies, I feel like he thinks of a lot of movies this way.
  9. As an Angel fan, I remember it vividly. It was after the game he started, iirc his first and only, and pretty much cemented him as a force for the Angels pitching going forward.
  10. I wonder if this is foreshadowing Kenny Omega returning soon. I know White took over BC when Kenny left NJPW.
  11. Something that has really begun to annoy me. I watch AEW, and now that NJPW is back that. I am kind of getting tired of, much like most of us have commented with Comic storylines, that I now seem to have to watch Impact to get the other half of a bunch of the storylines.
  12. well, at least he is parked in the handicapped spot, so that explains some of it.
  13. Not to mention the roll roll crawl stagger stagger. hope you found the treasure.
  14. I know. I moved to northern California after a lifetime, ok half a lifetime, of living in the greater Los Angeles/Orange County area. I pay Directv appx $160 a year for the MLB package, which works out on Angel games to about 135 games. I cannot watch the Angel broadcast of any game against the A's or Giants and have to watch the local broadcast. Add to that the number of games that are now streamed on YouTube (I think there are 3-5 per team) that MLB doesn't show. I do not have the streaming data to watch online, so I might listen to those games. But, as you mentioned, it is much cheaper then the $40 a month for the high end sports package, especially as I found out that because baseball (this works for any sports apparently) have a package, professional out of market games (like the Angels) are blacked out anyway, or at least that was the way it was 6 or so years ago.
  15. And apparently Kansas won by only playing the 2nd half of the game.
  16. Still has, IMO, the 2nd greatest point/counterpoint magic duel ever filmed (2nd only to Merlin vs Mad Madam Mim, which had to be animated to contain its amazement). I love the subtlety of the Price/Karloff duel.
  17. I liked that storyline because I always thought that plus the mysticism they retconned in separated him from being a total Batman clone (which he was when he started). I haven't seen it, but I really do hope they play up the mystic Fist of Konshu side, with maybe seeing a Werewolf by Night appearance.
  18. What they should have done was adapted some of the stuff, I think in 90s, when Morbius was teaming up with Blade to hunt Vampires. IIRC, Black Cat or Silver Sable was with them.
  19. Is that one of the locations from one of the Dark Souls series (I am thinking 3)? Is that one of the locations from one of the Dark Souls series (I am thinking 3)?
  20. Where do I find episodes x-xii? or are they as bad as i-iii? (I don't hate vii and ix as much as most as I went in liking the homage to iv and vi. Viii on the other hand can be removed from to the same plane of existence as Highlander 2.
  21. Reminds me of a Cerberus the Aardvark bit. Other : So if you could have as much gold as you could want, how much would that be? Cerberus : All of it. Other : no, I mean Cerberus : All of it.
  22. Having read Riyria first, I agree is fantastic and better, and they colored my thinking of LFE. I think the one thing I kept feeling during the series was that it was a history and all these people were already dead 3000 years (shorter I guess for Nephron), so maybe wasn't quite as invested in as I would have been had the people dieing been Hadrian or Royce (or some of the others).
  23. Worse then it should have been, mainly due to 9/11 happening before release and causing a huge rewrite of the story.
  24. I have now finished the whole 6 book series, Titled the Legends of the First Empire, and despite (or maybe because) numerous "Jesus, Grampa! Why'd you read me this story?" moments, it is fantastic. He has become one of those authors that I will watch for anything he does. I love his fore/after words that he talks about his process. I listened to the audiobooks and the reader, mister Tim Gerard Reynolds, works with the author and is friends with him after doing the initial Riyria books. This series is much more epic fantasy along the lines of Tolkien, and takes his idea of using people who are the least likely heroes. I know Hermit has also read the series, so if you wonder if is for you and trust him more, ask him his opinion. The books are about the foundation of the Empire we see in Riyria and the characters mentioned only as legends in their series.
