I would take a 50% age reduction if I could get it, but that's me. Cap didn't bust Bucky out of jail, Zemo triggered him to bust himself out, and Cap tried to stop him from leaving. He held Bucky in hiding because he knew the authorities would go for the kill after this. Cap beat Tony to keep Bucky from being murdered. To me it was very consistent with Cap from the comics, but I expect we'll continue to disagree, so I'm done.

George Perez has posted that his cancer has reached critical mass

This really hit me hard because I'm going through the end of this story right now.

I'm watching my step-father go through the same. He suffered a few minor strokes a few weeks ago. He's been dealing with prostate cancer for a decade and the last round of radiation treatments did f' all and so the plan was to comfort him and start hospice when it looked like it was time. We (the kids) all gathered for Thanksgiving this year, and dad, unable to talk well was vibrant and laughing taking part in the telling of tales where he could and miming when he couldn't find the words. He seemed to be getting better...at least his speech.

A week later he's had another stroke and is now confined to a wheelchair and the planned party for his 85th birthday on the 11th might not happen.

I'm sad.  Sorry to show up only to  whine.

A difference from Brown's era, tho, is that today, many players are both big AND fast.  Aaron Donald's 280...and ran a 4.68 40.  Brown wouldn't be as much of a physical freak today.  Not saying he wouldn't be great...but he might not stand out to the same degree.  It's also likely his overall stats wouldn't be as good simply because, despite last night's game, running the ball is so downplayed by most.

Also, something to remember about why he may have left football:  Brown's salary in 1964 was $50,000.  Inflation calculator says that's equivalent to $440K.  For the year...not per game.  The league rookie minimum salary is $660K.  Brown had done everything...multiple MVPs, won his title (and lost in the title game in '65).  What was left?  Paul Brown was gone;  that might have been a factor.  It seems unlikely to me that he'd ever have seen a major salary increase playing football...whereas the movies might've offered much more.  And he had a surprisingly long, reasonably successful career as an actor...look up his IMDb info.  Remember that many players of that era left the game...basically mauled.

Compared to the rest of the players of his era, Jim Brown was faster than everyone and the same size as defensive lineman.  Derrick Henry would have to be 6'5", 285 lbs and run a 4.2 or 4.3 to be comparable to Jim Brown.  That's all I'm saying - he was far ahead of his time athletically.

We don't know what Steve was doing all those years, but it must have been in an alternate time line, if for no other reason than that he provided Sam an unbroken shield.

Steve was born in 1918, and the events of Endgame are set in 2023. If he went back to the time of the 'plane crash in the Arctic that alone would make him 105, but he also lived twelve years in the modern era after being defrosted. How much slower do you think he should age?

Cap didn't protect Bucky from facing justice. He went after him in Bucharest to bring Bucky in himself, because as Steve said, he had the best chance of doing so without someone getting killed. What he was protecting Bucky from was being murdered without a fair trial, by government forces, by the Black Panther, by Iron Man, for crimes he either wasn't responsible for or was framed for. And Steve needed Bucky's help to stop what he thought Zemo was planning to do in Siberia. But yes, Steve did hide from Tony Stark the fact that Hydra had his parents murdered, although he didn't know until Siberia that Bucky was the one who actually did it. Cap acknowledged that was a mistake.

While I enjoy DS9, I would agree that Babylon 5 was the better show. I enjoyed B5 more than any of the Star Trek series (with the possible exception of the original), and it was one of my top two shows, along with Highlander: The Series, in the 1990s.

I would say that Ikaris, Phastos and Ajak all had changes to their belief system, as it was presented, though Ikaris came late. I would also say that upon learning the major reveal of the movie, they all had moral choices to make, some moreso then others. I would say all ended up going with their personality as it was presented, which is not bad. We don't say Steve Rogers didnt have a interesting character arc because he ALWAYS stuck to what he believed was right.
Again, if you haven't seen it, it would be tough to explain. Granted Gilgamesh and Thena had interesting characters but not so much an arc. At the center of the movie, it really is about Sersi, Ikaris and Sprite. The others are support, but all have their ingrained personality and beliefs and stick with them. I say all that while trying not to give away the movie. It is better then people are saying. I did not find it boring, as I thought there was enough action along the way and I found the characters interesting for the most part.

Just got back from it and I would agree with everything written here.
I felt, as the movie got further in, that we got a better Justice League movie (especially if you take the similarities to some of the characters - Ikarus - Superman, Phastos - Batman (with higher tech), Gilgamesh - sort of Aquaman, Thena - Wonder Woman, Makkari - Flash). and despite not being 4 hours (needed per Snyder, still haven't seen his version), I would say you got some pretty good character development. At least I, who never read Eternals, understood each ones character pretty well. In the end, the whole movie is about varying degrees of Love and loyalty.
