  4. Re: Could your Champions character beat... He's the best of the best, a walking legend. Nah, thugs are 10. Special, high-end agents tend to run 15-20 with possible levels. But the top end in any char is a far reach, and, yeah, I think stat inflation is okay for some areas, I run the gamut in low to high. Remember, I have the INT war... (2 PCs vying for the honor, both with INTs > 100, though it's actually led to some very intersting RPing opportunities).
  5. Re: Is Punisher the problem? Actually, as you say, I can see value in this if restrained to appropriate game-play. Basically, in a low-heroic level game where most people have a single schtick or such, this guy has the one ability to go back and forth to the base. He gets stuff, he checks facts, but he's of course got to move to do it, which eats up his phases. He better be fast, because that mostly-broken armor isn't going to hold against MADMAN IRON KILLER!
  6. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Actually, there's 1 more to go on the same topic, though people can run this one out at the same time, I'd just say whichever one is done last gets to name the next NT. Or whatever. It'll all even out.
  7. Re: Is Punisher the problem? Just now thinking about, I would think that in any high-powered game such a thing has no substantive impact, anyway. It's actually probably more in the 100-250 or such point range that it starts to matter as affecting balance, as the overlap between real world equipment and player-specific eqwuipment isn't that much of a gulf in that range.
  8. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat I think that doesn't count! :
  9. Re: Could your Champions character beat... Ah, okay, thanks, no comment then.
  10. Re: Could your Champions character beat...
  11. Re: Could your Champions character beat... PL 5? Even in M&M he would certainly be at a higher power level, so what are you referring to?
  12. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat It leaps up, bites your neck, and starts drinking the blood. At least that's how I figured out mine was possessed... NT: Signs you spend too much time on the boards (and nobody say "People start accidentally calling you Zornwil."!)
  13. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Hey, we don't have a DNR, Old Man!
  14. Re: Is Punisher the problem? Wow, my old friend Scott was playing in your game? He's a good roleplayer, but this sounds like a character of his, and he did tend to be a bit rules-abusive/munchkinesque although we were both a lot younger then, this is almost 20 years ago.
  15. Re: Is Punisher the problem? I think (I may be wrong) this is a fairly common approach in heroic games. In my Disavowed game, which is heroic, that's how I do it. PS - this is basically also a powered agents game, though more oriented towards occult and general weird stuff

  17. Re: Superhero Images I think the question is why would we not want you to post your "old" NGD stuff?
  18. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Hmm, there's no thread up yet on the recent (this AM) Supreme Court ruling re the Ten Commandments...or the cable ruling, either, yet.

  20. Re: Mental Powers Thanks, except perhaps you could have actually said it better in that the end of my sentence sort of falls off there, though the intent is at least clear. On the issues, real or perceived, with Regen, IC, and Healing, I think at least it's a more nuanced argument in that I can't fundamentally fault the decisions made there, even if I think there were some mistakes in those. At least they are an attempt at consistency and using the constructs in place, so while I can argue against them it really does come more down to a personal taste factor in the trade-off in the rules between consistency and efficiency and balance.
  21. Re: How much XP do you give and why? I double XP growth for characters who are behind significantly.
  22. Re: Musings on Random Musings And that's what makes the Tribble funny, his delusions of power and insight...

  24. Re: Is Punisher the problem? On occassion PCs have picked up guns or on a rare assignment they were issued heavy-duty firearms. As to carrying stuff regularly, it just isn't done mostly because it isn't needed, but we have always had 1 PC in my supers campaign have equipment that isn't paid for with points. In his human form he's somewhat limited, he basically can only transform people into a particular sort of object (without getting into all the details) or himself turn into those same sorts of object albeit sentient, conscious versions of them. He is a detective otherwise, an amazing super-uber-sleuth, and has little else besides his various gadgets, and carries a normal gun, which he's actually used to harm bad guys with. No biggie, it works and it's real tech and nothing powerful at that.
