Still no change! It goes without saying by this point, but you will have to run the game without me. If I can ever get into RPol...well, new beat cops get assigned all the time....
-
No sir. Argh! I waited a few more days since my last post and STILL no registration email. I don't know what to do here. I will email RPol admins again and see if that helps.
If this ever gets resolved........
-
STILL no verification email from RPol. I will see if I can cancel my registration and start a new one. Maybe then it will work.
-
That is grim news. My condolences also go out to the friends and family. May you always roll low, DJ, except when rolling damage.
-
I'm still not seeing my email from RPol. ?
-
Nor have I. I'll just have to create my character and figure he's lurking in the background until RPol is back on its feet. Having Hero Central flashbacks! ?
-
I had an account under an older Gmail, but lost access to that Gmail and never wrote down the RPol password, so I'm trying to set up a new RPol account. As of a little bit ago, I still haven't seen an email from RPol...argh!
Worst case scenario, you could start with the other players, and I can then join when the RPol email problems are worked out.

I still haven't seen an email from RPol so I can officially sign up. Argh!
-
I can't join the game until I can receive my Rpol validation email and thus validate my account. ? I am strangely pleased to know that I'm not the only one having trouble getting emails from Rpol.
I'm still vacillating between the cop (more beat cop than detective) and lawyer options. Once I can join the game, I'll discuss more with the group.
-
I'm considering a lawyer or detective/cop. Powers wise, if anything I might give them low-level telepathy/empathy. Otherwise, they may be able to handle themselves in a fight but are not front line grunts by any stretch. The concept will take some work yet, but it's germinating.

Hey Quozaxx,
At the risk of being repetitive...what they said. GMing burnout has hit me pretty hard since I got out of college. I'm sure part of it is simply not being in my 20s anymore, and having a lot more commitments as a family guy. It was also a lot easier to game when I had a solid group, we all lived on the same couple blocks of the college campus, and we all had relatively simple lives. For a long while I even kept buying RPG supplements out of habit...and eventually stopped because I wondered, "Why buy this stuff when I never use it anymore?"
My gaming habit slept for a long time, and then I finally found a new group to play with. We play once a month instead of several times per week, which fits our schedules a lot better. We are also getting our kids into the game, so besides having fun ourselves, we're introducing a new generation to a wonderful hobby...which in turn is reigniting our own fire. For me, anyway, that's what did it: I stepped back to allow time to recharge, and only stepped back in once I found a new group and settled on a more appropriate schedule. The fire is back, though perhaps it will never be what it once was. (For that matter, I will never be what I once was). Thanks to the magic of places like Drivethru, I have even resumed buying games, since I can get them as PDFs that don't take up space on my already overstuffed bookshelves.
The time between college and now still had its gaming high points though. I had the privilege of playing in a couple of your games on Hero Central, and those are fond memories. I hope that's a good thing, and I'm grateful that you helped me keep my gaming fire alive.
Cheers!

I did not like it compared to 2nd edition by Chaosium
and neither did those I played 2nd ed with and got rid of it shortly there after
how many adventures and supplements where done for it is usually a good indicator
IIRC Avalon Hill went into near hibernation in the early 90's

I played a wonderful Runequest game (not sure which edition) via Hero Central back in the day. Later we did some "live" gaming via Fantasy Grounds, when HC started having problems. The system took some getting used to, but I came to enjoy it tremendously. The novelty of skills improving through use was something I hadn't seen since Wasteland. I also found the setting rich and captivating.
Now, a string of bad dice rolls could give your character a really bad (if interesting to read) day. I remember Ragnar the barbarian rolling to clean some rabbits he'd snared. Thanks to a couple of bad critical failures, he badly injured his own hand and had to call on the services of the party's healer.

Godspeed Eddie. I don't know what else to say....

Okay, now you're wandering in the realm of pure fantasy.
What about a Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl championship roster?

It's a Giant Crossover Event!
Might even be in BACE territory.....

Yeah Thor is no match for Hela one-on-one. She's Odin-level powerful, beyond him and Loki both.
Who knows if Hulk will make it to Asgard or just help Thor escape...but he might be a decent weapon against Hela.
"I have an army."
"We have a Hulk."

And I thought carjacking and running from the police with the aid of Mr. T and Uncle Jesse from the Dukes of Hazzard (played by Denver Pyle) was a weird driving dream.
It is, but it's a fun kind of weird.

I had taken on the persona of David Banner for this one. I was working with some other "good" Hulk creature (not Red Hulk, but an unnamed green guy) to go after an evil Hulk (probably Abomination from the 2008 Incredible Hulk movie, but our enemy was never named in the dream either). We chased the baddie around a few places, probably inflicting the usual incidental property damage, but couldn't catch him and he eluded us. I had de-Hulked and talked with my comrade, trying to figure out our next move. The radio crackled (we were somehow in a control room at this point), and the baddie came on the frequency. We exchanged a few taunts and threats, and then the baddie made some comment about being in the rafters in some kind of big sports arena. He then said, "I have someone who wants to talk to you." Next, my son's voice crackled over the radio, saying in a frightened voice, "It's really scary up here." A great swell of rage surged to life inside me, shooting through my limbs as I drank in the heady rush of power. I felt my flesh rippling and growing as the Hulk metamorphosis took hold--
--and then the damn alarm went off, ruining a perfectly good Hulk-out. I haven't been able to repeat a similar dream since.

When I wake up, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you
When I go out, yeah, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you
If I get drunk, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you
And if I haver, hey, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you
But I would walk five hundred miles
And I would walk five hundred more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door
When I'm working, yes, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you
And when the money comes in for the work I do
I'll pass almost every penny on to you
When I come home (When I come home), oh, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you
And if I grow old, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you
But I would walk five hundred miles
And I would walk five hundred more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door

And when I'm dreaming, well, I know I'm gonna dream
I'm gonna dream about the time when I'm with you
When I go out (When I go out), well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you

I've found three to six player to be just about right. I tried running a campaign with as many as 8 players at a time, and that was just too much to keep track of and give everyone a fair share of screen time.

I am so sorry to hear this...better words escape me. Rest well, Hyper-Man, and may you always roll low except when rolling damage.
