  1. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Welcome to the flock. I babysit a few BOC fan sites on MySpace and there are a couple good groups on there that have some really deep discussions. You should check them out. And I envy you getting to see them live. I just missed out on seeing them about two months ago. "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" by Blue Oyster Cult.
  2. Re: A Game Of Questions Am I the only one who agrees with L. Marcus that blueberry pie is good?
  3. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Another Blue Öyster Cult fan? I'm not alone! By the way, "The Revenge of Vera Gemini" is my favorite song on the Agents of Fortune album. Only The Valiant podcast Episode 4: A Discussion About A Valiant Relaunch. http://onlythevaliant.com/
  4. Re: The cranky thread I made an ironic statement in another thread, somebody pointed out the meaning of my joke and got credit for it, while I got...nothing. I'm normally not a complainer but I'm tired of not getting credit for being the awesomest, coolest, bestest person in the universe.
  5. Re: A Game Of Questions Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?

  11. Re: Agents of R.U.S.H (1 of 4) Great character concepts. As soon as I reach that fabled fifty post level, I'll give you some rep. Now if you'll excuse me, I have four songs to go listen to.

  14. Re: strange site Exactly. So, drawing inspiration from Redmenace's suggestion of a Lovecraftian setting, here's my idea: An evil cult whose members are posing as druids is attempting to take control of all megaliths located at the nexus points where ley lines cross. By controlling these points, the cults are able to summon beings from the outer dark. Stonehenge being the best known and most accessible, the campaign starts with the "druids" performing a ceremony at the summer solstice (or any other appropriate time of year) to conjure a Lovecraftian monster. These types of ceremonies are common today and probably were even in the 30s due to people reviving the ancient pagan beliefs. Thus a cult pretending to perform an ancient pagan ritual would be viewed as more of a curiosity than a real threat. The PCs themselves would be tourists who've come to watch one of these ceremonies while on their way to some other location or adventure. Neither they nor anybody else takes it seriously until later that night when several people are horribly mutilated. It's up to the PCs to figure out what's happening and destroy the monster. But that's only the beginning. The cult is searching for other megaliths they know should exist from studying the ley lines and where they intersect. The more of these monuments they control, the more powerful the monsters they summon. It's up to the PCs to follow the cult around the world and combat it at every location, hoping to prevent the cult from summoning a creature strong enough to destroy the world.

  17. Re: 70's Fashion Horrors I was a teen in the 90s but I wore bell bottoms to school. No joke. I was the guy who wore weird stuff - bell bottoms, painted shoes, Hawaiian shirts - to stand out from the crowd. I gave up the bell bottoms, though, when a bunch of other people started wearing them. That and my pair were so old that they developed a huge hole in the rear. I still remember discovering in my last class that I'd been walking around like that all day. That being the case, I have to confess that I actually like these band outfits. As I said in the chat when Shadowcat first posted the link, I love the plaid cuffs and lapels. Huge lapels in general are awesome. So all these outfits are great in my book.
  18. Re: A Game Of Questions Yeah, wouldn't it be pointless if we were all masochists and none of us were sadists?

  21. Re: A Thread for Random Videos This is such a classic movie moment that it must have been posted before. But it's worth watching over and over again.
  22. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I can't figure out why Akira Kurosawa films keep getting low vote totals at imdb. In a poll dedicated solely to his movies, the second most popular answer was "I'm not familiar with his work." What is wrong with people?
