I found that my tolerance of TV emoting is about twenty seconds too low for me to watch Buffy. I tried, and the teenage angst drove me from the room 20-30 seconds before the fights started. Pretty much. The only thing you can do is deprive it of oxygen. Spraying water on it won't do that. In not sure a commercial CO2 fire extinguisher will, either.
