Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER My father described the revolver as a "ladies' snake gun"; a combless .38 with a 3-inch barrel and a five-chamber cylinder. He cleaned it shortly after we got it, but I don't think we ever had ammunition for it. I assume my sister still has it, though she could well have sold it. Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I don't think so, but I know approximately nothing about firearms. I am pretty sure it was of early 20th Century manufacture ... no later than 1930, if I had to guess.

Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I have read doubts about that, but you never know. I expect it'd have to be socked away and forgotten for a hundred years, though.

Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Like most people, I have a difficult time thinking personally about people who have yet to be born. I complain about that in others (in particular those in power). Besides, it's really tough to predict what'll be valuable in a couple generations. They capped the Washington Monument with a block of aluminum because it was quite precious at the time....

Coulomb's Law, electric field, Gauss's Law, electric potential energy, electric potential. Got 'em all graded last night, now to do the curve. Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER The change to "page layout" as the default presentation in Excel 2004 is somewhere between annoying and reason to nuke Redmond. I really dislike feature changes just for the sake of obsoleting old versions.

Build your own custom nuke with not only AoE but Selective! And I really, really hate the deliberate obsolescing that Micro$oft does. And changes to the GUI interface just to make it look like a lot more has changed than really has.

Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER And changes to the GUI interface just to make it look like a lot more has changed than really has. And making obscure the ways to get the old appearance back. Irritating. At least with Excel they didn't change the format (again) like they did with Word, going from .doc to docx. That was a purely screw-the-customer decision to force folks to buy the upgrade.
