Heh. Stray datum from the Army's own history volume about it: at its peak of operations, the Manhattan Engineering District employed over 100,000 people, which was comparable to the total employment in the US auto industry at the time.

I'm surprised you never heard of the Philadelphia Experiment, the US Navy (I think) wanting to make a battleship invisible.

They are primarily insect-eaters, and we've got a pretty good view of this one working in the hole. I took pictures yesterday; we'll see if they are any good on a larger display.

I'm sure it happens here. I'm also sure that there are a few people who take a few geese for the same reasons, especially since the birds sort of infest grassy areas of parks, golf courses, and college campuses near water.
