Blue
Re: Superman Returns Score I had heard something about them using some of the original John Williams score mixed in with the new pieces. Have they, as far as you can tell? (I can't get that site at work)
GestaltBennie
Re: Superman Returns Score Yes, there are plenty of use of the old hooks, and the title theme is the old Williams piece, re-recorded with a lot of punch.
Blue
Re: Superman Returns Score Excellent. I remember but don't own the original S/T. I may just have to check this out.
Lord Mhoram
Re: Superman Returns Score Thanks for the link. I'll have to listen. I consider William's Superman his best Score, so finding out they kept some of his hooks is pretty cool.
Lord Liaden
Re: Superman Returns Score John Williams' track for the title sequence in the Superman films is my favorite theme music for the character from any era. It captured the common majesty and dynamism that other themes have strived for, but with a richer emotional range. And watching/listening to the "approach to Krypton" sequence from the first movie always gives me goosebumps.
mattingly
Re: Superman Returns Score I heard the score was going to be Superman: 1, Luthor: 0.
Lord Liaden
Re: Superman Returns Score I expect it to be a split decision, so they can promote the rematch.
GestaltBennie
Re: Superman Returns Score I heard the score was going to be Superman: 1' date=' Luthor: 0.[/quote'] Nah. The score is Baldness 1, Luthor 0. :-)
Kenn
Re: Superman Returns Score The score in Superman II happened shortly after Superman gave up his powers. BTW: Anyone know, in "Superman Returns," how long was Superman gone, and how old is Lois' son?
Bloodstone
Re: Superman Returns Score not sure how old the kid is, but Superman has been gone 5 years
Silverback
Re: Superman Returns Score I've listened to both scores again and my personal preference is still for the original score, but by the narrowest of margins.
Black Rose
Re: Superman Returns Score I love the Superman theme. There's something about it that makes me smile, y'know? As schmaltzy as this might sound, it's good and pure, or at least it makes me think of good and pure things.
