Chris Goodwin
Right. That happened in Galactica: 1980, which Glen Larson said was not canon for the BSG universe. Ergo, IMG it never happened, and in my BSG:TNG, Colonel Starbuck is the officer in charge of Galactica's flight operations (and he loves using that "don't ever push the third button" line on new recruits.) starblaze
Galactia 80 was really bad stuff. In fact, about the only thing that was good in that series was the episode with Starbuck. The rest was galactically bad. I do remember the dialogue that Starbuck and Cylon had. It went something like. Starbuck: So why do you want to kill humans? Cy: So we can win the battle. Starbuck: And then what? Cy: Bring order to the galaxy Starbuck: And then what? Cy: uhhhhhhhhhhh?

Tom Carman
Re: Battlestar Galactica Hero SO is there a Battlestar Galactica Hero yet? You could start writing it... In the (great!) new one, no laser handguns, they seem to be gyrojet rocket guns. Can't recall any energy weapons, actually. Missiles are the heavy weapons. The Vipers and Raiders seem to be armed with autocannon, though I haven't noticed any recoil effects. Possibly they are also gyrojet guns, with the rockets burning out before leaving the barrel. shadowcat1313
Re: Battlestar Galactica Hero just on a sidenote, somebody found dimensions for the new Galactica and figured her size over on the Traveller Mailing List not quite 10.4 million displacement tons so call it 21 million hexes
tancred
Re: Battlestar Galactica Hero That would appear to be about Size 38, if I'm reading HD right. Size 38 gives an area of 21,137,967.60".

Vanguard
Re: Battlestar Galactica Hero I thought so. Was actually glad to get some hard and fast "numbers" on the Battlestar and other ships. The Original was a bit . . . vague . . . about things. Also, I'm rather impressed with the story line of the new show. I didn't think I would like it or would adapt to it but I think they did a very good job of it.

Starwolf
Re: Battlestar Galactica Hero It locked up my browser. Mine appeared to lock-up also, but I did get a partial screen. I was able to see/click on the ships link and a second page loaded that also appeared to lock-up, but on the bottom of the second page tiny ship icons appeared and when I clicked them they actually worked to load ship specific pages. I am using Firefox as a browser. IMHO while the info was nice, the page design itself was not very well done.

And won't work well for other browsers.

CSgeekHero
Re: Battlestar Galactica Hero I just ran a test of the ships section with Firefox, Opera, and IE. My LInux box isn't hooked up at the moment, so I cannot test it with Konquerer. Firefox loaded, but it seemed a little sluggish. IE worked okay, but the best performance on that site came from Opera. If your using dialup, get Opera for a lot of those graphics intense sites. There is one really good site on the web called http://www.merzo.net for comparing starship sizes. For that one, you must have IE. It has to do with the fact that it was created with Microsoft FrontPage 3.0. I hope that helps somebody.
