I'm not sure 5d6 is the right amount of damage for the GAU-8. That's a full die more than mortar damage' date=' is it not? It also seems as though it deserves AP or Explosion depending on the ammo load.[/quote']

 

The GAU-8 is a 30mm gatling gun firing depleted-uranium shells. It's designed to shoot through (the top armor of) tanks. It has AP. I would have modeled it as AP, AF5, AoE: Radius (it sprays a lot of ammo, hitting everything around the aim point), but AF10 is a workable interpretation.

That gun can fire more than one type of ammunition. It's usually loaded with HE in Afghanistan, not the depleted uranium stuff. I'd probably still give it AP though, and give the uranium multiples of AP and penetrating.

16,000 pounds of external ordinance.

How is the plane going to lift 8 tons with a 10 Str?

(or is there a vehicle rules loophole I'm unaware of?)

I think the wrong character template was used by mistake. It has INT, PRE, EGO, and COM, but no SIZE or DEF.
