Marcus Impudite
The lastest issue of The Campaign City Tribune is on the stands. Your character picks up a copy and the follow articles catch his/her eye: New Exhibit At Campaign City Museum of Art: The museum will be hosting an exhibit of very rare and valuable paintings and sculptures on loan from a private collector. Thief Gets Hosed: A thief who had just stolen a purse and bag of goceries from a pregnant woman attempted to hide from police inside a local car wash. The manager of the car wash, unaware that the low-life hiding inside, turned on the machines for a routine maintainance cycle. Buffeted by the array of hoses and brushes, the criminal was blinded and stumbled backwards into a high-pressure spray nozzle...with messy results. A Case of "D.U. Die": A drunken motorist, suffering from a bout of carsickness, sticks his head out the window to vomit...and was decapitated when his head struck a mailbox. Purse-Snatcher Gets "Beaned": While fleeing after stealing a lady's purse, a criminal is knocked cold by a can of green beans thrown at his head by an unidentitied man in a snakeskin vest. What's your character's reaction while reading the articles?

Pizza Man
Re: Newspaper Headlines Black Falcon: "There's a sale at Pennys!" Psidestep: "Someone made a vest out of snake skin? Amazing!" I'll leave it to Batman and Robin to tie all of these events together. New Exhibit...Catwoman Thief Gets Hosed...Penquin "D.U. Die"...The Riddler Purse-Snatcher Gets "Beaned"...Joker Obviously commissioner, its a plot to take over the world!
assault
Re: Newspaper Headlines Captain Justice: Keep an eye on the Museum - obvious target. Snakeskin vest guy could be a new vigilante, so look out for reports about him. Everything else goes in the Justice computer's files with the rest of the Tribune. Captain Wonder: What Captain Justice did, only less skillfully. Captain Justice could, potentially, see a Batplot there if there is one, but that would require more information. Things like the connection of the hosed thief to the theme villain who is planning on robbing the exhibit...
Badger
Re: Newspaper Headlines Badger-Dont think he'd care to read the newspaper. (has a tendency to consider the media a lower form of life, very lower) frosty Bob- laugh while calling those idiot criminals "dumb####s"
hfergus
Re: Newspaper Headlines All would keep an eye on the museum. All except Volt would laugh at the criminals demises. Futurian would say "Darwin Award candidates." Volt would possibly laugh, but then think to himself "Shame they could not have turned to the straight and narrow before they died." Yes, he's silver age in tone, why do you ask?
Blue
Re: Newspaper Headlines In the scope of an entire newspaper, I doubt most would find any pattern (though when they're put together like this the last 3 seem to be about luck or unluck). I do think that Anthem would visit the museum because she likes museums and she would keep an eye on the place because of possible trouble. Aside from that, not much. This wouldn't even register on Uncle Slam's radar. However, Audra Blue's software that combs headlines, internet postings, and other things to look for patterns all day long might pick up on a pattern, especially if the same thing happened in another city where such paintings had appeared. If so, she'd pass this info on to the team to investigate.

Starcloud
Re: Newspaper Headlines Someone out there has a "Karma balance" power that grants unluck in proportion to the amount of karma on their soul. (karma being, actually, a negative thing gained by selfish or thoughtless or criminal acts).
