Crash. He's a wrestler -- actually, a former luchador with the Professional Wrestling martial art -- so it works with his Body Slam, Forearm Smash and other maneuvers.

Several other names were tempting, though. Indeed, people submitted so many good names I may have to create another member for the Vulture Fund.

Thank you, one and all!

I kind of need one for my financial themed hero

The Gent

The latest Guardian of the city of London (the square mile England's financial capital) and world's greatest accountant

See Enforcer84's idea of a team called the Market Forces.

Incidentally, I know offhand of two financial firms with rather villainous names. Cerberus is, IIRC, a private equity firm that has bought failing companies to strip them for any remaining value; and Black Rock is both the largest investor of its kind in the world and the name of an obscure DC villain from long ago.

Risk, leader of the Vulture Fund, and the NPC heroes Bull and Bear both have as their enemy a group called the Invisible Hand, a cult of Satanist bankers, hedge fund managers and other financiers. (They're also part of the backstory for Capricorn, as mentioned in Shared Origins: The Green Butterfly. A group that powerful and evil tends to entangle itself with a lot of the world.)

A while back I had a notion for a group of pro-capitalist supers.  There members included Lassie Fair (a Scotswoman with a claymore and dancing skills), Invisible Hand (invisibility and TK), Rising Tide (hydro-kinesis; he hates being called "Trickle-Down") and Supply Side (can boost his teammates' powers but has no combat ability of his own.)

I really like Crash I'm now picturing a luchadore in a suit with a plummeting graph based mask and gold knuckle duster rings with BOOM on the right and BUST on the left.

I was thinking a two-tone costume with the colors divided down the torso by a jagged, descending line sort of like the Eel (Marvel villain) -- only instead of representing electricity, it's a stock market graph as you suggest. Knuckle duster addition gleefully stolen; thank you!

(The other members' costumes have nothing particularly "financial" about them. Risk finds the theme amusing but isn't obsessive about it. Crash adopting a "theme" costume is a luchador thing.)

Ok so I did create the Market Forces.

Using the Quick Creator from the latest Champions Book (and the Extended PDF offered later) to put these villains together and then giving them some different powers. My team consists of:

Robber Baron - leader, Caped Detective Build. Smart Version. A wealthy and bored scion of  Wall Street. The Robber Baron is in this for kicks. He already has money but he likes the idea of being a force for change. Not necessarily good change, but change on an international level. He's relatively flamboyant and keeps his team on a loose leash. They all get along pretty well.

Frozen Assets - (Ice Elementalist, Agile). A former prostitute given powers by Biomancer in return for sexual favors and then decided to strike out on her own rather than continue to be one of his mistresses. She wasn't much of a success as Ice Queen. But Robber Baron saw potential and more importantly, sanity in her and brought her onto his team. She has played the Moll role on occasion but once she realized that's not why he brought her into the team she became a more confident member of the team.

Boom - (Sonic, Tough) A bluesman from the south whose naturalized Metahuman abilities emerged unbidden and barely controlled in his mid twenties and wrecked his musical career. Embittered he began a semi successful criminal career as Bombast. Robber Baron found in him another relatively normal villain and recruited him as Boom. Boom has actually released a few albums on his own since becoming a member of the market forces and they're released under an underground label. Has considered leaving the team to go straight and concentrate on his music. Rober Baron is actually cool with this. Boom likes his team though and has waffled on the decision more than once.

Bust - A large, (Brick, Hulking) hulking man in a suit. Bust is the team's strongman and shield. He's been a henchman and mercenary villain for years under a few different pseudonyms. He really likes this gig. Travel, investments, medical. It's like he's finally found a home.

Collateral - (Robo Hero, Well-Rounded) A Military-grade combat Robot that's AI evolved beyond the programming set for "her." Escaped from the wealthy middle eastern country of her "origin" and studied medicine on her own. Discovered by the Market Forces during a stint in Europe. Joined the team as its resident doctor and a back up combatant.

VooDoo - (Shadow, Agile) An assassin who combines martial arts, metahuman agility and shadow shaping powers. Was "lent" to the team by her superiors for the Market Forces' aid in finding an embezzler on their payroll.

Gold Standard -  (Power Weapon, Tough) A demigod-like medium brick with a magical golden hammer of the Dei Lucrii (Roman Gods of Profit) the team's mystic informant who also has a supernatural skill with banking, finance, and trade. Encountered the Team in Italy when they discovered him ripping off one of their shell companies. After a short battle he surrendered and they began to talk. He joined the team shortly after.

Budget - (Stretcher, Tough) A naturalized meta whose powers have been with him his whole life. He is the most lighthearted of the team almost to the point of goofiness. Loyal and friendly he was the Robber Baron's friend from boarding school.

You can use the creators to make these guys 400 points easy. I gave them a bit more skills here and there and a few more powers.

The team is meant as a kind of silver age antagonists. They're not murderers or world beaters, they're in it mostly for the thrills. Most will banter with heroes and if something horrible happens while they are around they would even help with evacuation or other natural disaster relief. Their goals are mostly to be entertained and to outwit the Invisible Hand of the market. They strike at trade centers all over the world as well as certain companies to affect stock prices. Robber Baron and Gold Standard are excellent investors and the team are mostly well off to millionaires. They leap into combat with cops and heroes with a quip and a smile.

They also do accounting and investigative accounting for underworld figures.

Champions is so awesome it can even make finance interesting.  What's next?  Art history?

Challenge accepted!

The Art Guild is a criminal group devoted to saving (stealing) and creating (vandalism) art throughout the world.

  • Provenance
    • (enhanced senses, enhanced intelligence) The leader, the planner. Taking his name from the term for the documents that provide the truth about a piece of art, Provenance created the Art Guild to treat art the way it deserves…according to him.
  • Avant-Garde
    • (barriers, images) He creates shields and walls to aid the team in their activities. A brilliant forger, AG can actually created near perfect images of art in his barriers.
  • Vitruvian Man
    • (flight, invulnerability, strength, speed) The Superman of the group, he provides the strong arm of the Guild. He is beautiful, narcissistic, and not particularly bright.
  • Cubist
    • (strength, durability, gadgetry) A robot modular enhancements, Cubist is the workhorse of the group. His creator is unknown, but he was acquired and reprogrammed by Provenance.
  • Dada
    • (images, telekinesis, mind control, change environment) She can make the immediate area go mad in real space or inside someone’s mind. The chaotic Dada is the hardest to control and lead, but her raw power is immense.
  • Fauves
    • (speed, agility, claws) She is a refined and arrogant beast-woman always dressed in the finest colorful clothes which she intensely dislikes getting dirty. Ironically, when combat occurs, she is the most likely to end up in bloody rags.
  • Nouveau
    • (entangle) An enchanting fashionista, she weaves incredible and elaborate cages and webs which can even fill an entire room. She is obsessed with beautiful things and is the connoisseur of the group. Very good friends with Aesthetica.
  • Aesthetica
    • (mind control) The inhumanly beautiful Aesthetica mesmerizes anyone who encounters her. She can command all who can see and hear her. Unless she tells them what to do, she acts merely as an intense distraction.
