Lucius
Of COURSE I can find Hero System character write ups for Batman. That was easy. But so far I haven't found a Hero System version specifically of the Batman portrayed by Adam West in the sixties, a Batman very distinct in tone from previous and later versions. Can anyone show me a character sheet for, not Batman, but Adam West's Batman!Batman!Batman!? Tjack
I'd think you could modify a Batman write-up of whatever power level you needed. Lose the Asian style martial arts in favor of classic comic book, with a few specialty moves based on throwing a willing partner. Up the Batcave into a huge Vari-Pool changeable only at base, with the Utiltiy Belt it's own VP. Purchase absoloutly insane amounts of Luck. Just don't forget to take unprecidented levels of Precence to halt evil-doers in their tracks and help educate the citizenry about things like using seatbelts. (The show actually got an award from the national safety commission for putting in that shot of Batman & Robin buckling their belts in the Batmobile startup shots)
assault
I don't know of any. Putting one together wouldn't be too hard. There are a bunch of builds based on cheesy TV characters around. In some ways he wouldn't be particularly high powered. His opponents are normals, and not all that awesome either. He seldom fails rolls, so some Overall Skill Levels would be wise. Martial Arts would be western style, and pretty minimal. Obviously he has whatever skills and gadgets he needs. That could be a problem, but it can be worked around. To do this, build scenarios around his character sheet. If he has Bat-Shark Repellent, he will encounter a shark. If he has an obscure knowledge skill, it will be relevant. The reverse doesn't really happen. He will seldom need something that he doesn't have. In other words, he is the centre of his world, and doesn't really work outside that. That's fine. (He does, however, exist in the same world as the Green Hornet and Scooby Doo). EDIT: I suppose you could call it the Batmanthropic principle. General inspiration. Also according to the Batman '66 comic he exists along side the British Spy team The Avengers and The Men from U.N.C.L.E. General inspiration. massey
I can't find the writeup. I think it was on an old computer. I remember that I gave him 20s for his physical stats. On the one hand, he's Batman. On the other hand, he's Adam West. And it's a 60s TV show where, for the most part, he's fighting normals. I know there's at least one episode where he says to Robin "luckily, we're in tip-top physical condition" at least half a dozen times. So... Tip-top physical condition (5th edition rules): Str 20 Dex 20 Con 20 Body 15 (I don't think he ever takes Body in the show, but I think guns and knives would still be dangerous to him) Int 20 Ego 20 Pre 20 Com 14 (it's still Adam West) PD 8 ED 8 Spd 4 Rec 10 End 40 Stun 40 Running 10" Swimming 6" Combat luck 6/6 Skills, martial arts, and his utility belt to come later. wcw43921
As duly deputized officers of the law, the 1966 Batman and Robin should have the Perk: Local Police Powers (2 Points)--not unlike the comics, where Batman was given a diamond-studded badge by Commissioner Gordon--no doubt paid for by a generous donation from Bruce Wayne. The there's his relationship to Commissioner Gordon, quite obviously built up over time. I figure it this way-- Yes, Batman? Contact 19-, Has Extremely Useful Skills Or Resources, Access To Major Institutions, Significant Contacts Of His Own, Is Slavishly Loyal To Character. Total: 18 Points. Hope that helps. Capp that power "Favour of the Writers" That's the conventional way to do it, obviously. Use some of the options from the Ultimate Skill as well. But it's boring. It's much more fun to come up with mad random stuff that the GM has to make relevant.
assault
I'm not sure if I would bother giving him resistant defences. While there were a few people with guns and swords around, Killing Attacks were mostly absent. Even characters with guns would tend to use their fists. Shame is a good example. Lucius
Working on it. Here's a preview from the Backgroound/History field: No, it's not the Goddamn Batman - it's the Gosh-darn Batman! To those of us of a certain age, Batman isn't a dark brooding vigilante loner - the Batman we grew up with was a campy living cartoon figure, beloved by the police and citizens of Gotham, fighting a never ending battle with goofy villains and their even goofier plots against the background of a fast paced brightly colored Gotham City that bears only a passing resemblance to the dark and grimy sink of corruption and iniquity known to earlier and later generations. Not that I'm saying something's wrong with your Dark Knight, your World's Greatest Detective, your obessively driven tragic figure who is as mad in his way as the twisted killers he opposes: but there was a time, for One Brief Shining Moment, when the world knew a very different (if not necessarily saner) Batman. Lucius Alexander "A palindromedary has a head at each end and one hump in the middle, Robin. You can easily distinguish it from the backandforthtrian, which has two humps." "Holy pedantic pomposity, Batman! You really are an insufferable know-it-all!"

Lucius
Definitely Unluck. I had the Complications figured out, the Martial Arts with maneuvers like POW! and ZING! and KA-POW! and some Skills - but I forgot to save it all, and a computer glitch wound up flushing everything. If that's not Unluck I don't know what it is. Maybe I'm just not supposed to do this character.... Lucius Alexander Let's blame a palindromedary!
