Alek: Toarn seems a little mind fried. Therin: How is that different than normal? We didn't know this until now, but it turns out Alek is a Werewolf. Alek: I sniff the throne. Samm: Are you going to mark it? Alek: I'm thinking about it. We find two arches... Goguin: Are they painted gold? Toarn: Golden arches? Goguin: Yes. Samm: We deserved a break today. We find a Eladrin corpse... Samm: How many Eladrin in a corps? DM: Where's Goguin? Samm: In the bathroom. DM: Goguin passes. Darrek, explaining why he dosen't need to be healed. Darrek: I used my second wind while Goguin was in the bathroom. We encounter some witches... Toarn: We don't just want to attack them for no reason. Therin: I don't know you anymore. We kill evil things. Toarn: I just kill things. Therin attacks for massive damage! Samm: Therin used a backpack nuke! Therin: No, I used a backpack Sepheris.

  7. Re: Barnstormer, flying speedster Going from memory, the build in Teen Champions was designed not only with a 'young hero, new to his powers and potential" but really limited his potential also. I wouldn't use it as the basis for anything. More useful stuff, my opinion, ymmv, etc. For one of my campaigns, your dexterity seem low. Your total attack dice (17d6 on a move by, 23d6 on a move through) is high. What's the damage cap? Of course, your PD is too low to be doing move throughs very often, but still. You've got a lot of points in psych disads (65).
  8. Re: Barnstormer, flying speedster The name "Barnstormer" shows up in Teen Champions (he's a flying speedster with the North Detroit Defenders), complete with character write up. His fate is described in D.E.M.O.N. Servants of Darkness, which I would write here but it needs a spoiler tag.

  10. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Live and Let Die Hard Day's Night James Bond, John McClane, and the Beatles. Final Destination: Tokyo Drift Death stalks the crew of a submarine racing team in Japan. Logan's Run Silent, Run Deep Impact Logan has turned thirty, and must flee on a submarine to avoid execution by giant meteor. Sounds exciting, but comes off as soap opera.
  11. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Thunderbirds on a Wire Captain Air America Twilight's Last Gleaming In order to stop the sparkling vampires, the president uses nukes. And there was much rejoicing.
  12. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Foxbat attempts to steal the Rock and Roll Museum in Cleveland to give to Saphire as "proof of his love"... (Not the contents of the museum, the building itself.)
  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... 4th edition DnD continues... Theren the Archer, Elven Ranger Goguin the Faithful, Dwarven Cleric Toarn the Maniac, Human Barbarian Alek the Evil, Human Blackguard Samm the Compensating, Human Fighter Sepheris the Scary, Shadow Rogue Darrek the Redundant, Dwarf Fighter GM: Sepheris hits, and rolls all dice on the table as damage. Goguin: I hit him for only 7 points of damage. GM: The monster had damage resistance 10. Samm: "Negative, it didn't go in, it just impacted on the surface!" Alek: It's not the things coming out and saying "Hi", it's the ones that come out screaming "Die, Infidels!" Goguin gets hit with a fear effect and flees... Samm: What's Goguin doing? Alek: The land speed record. Therin: We better follow him, he's got the torch. Therin: Sepheris nuked another one. Sepheris: I don't use nuclear weapons. Therin: Why not? Samm: Because they don't do enough damage. Samm: Hi, I'm a defender, I'm here to hurt you. Sepheris: No, you're there to be hit instead of me. Goguin gives advice... "Don't argue semantics with the guy holding *The Book of Vile Darkness*!" Evil Wizard NPC: I'll kill you for striking me! Samm: That's why all seven of us are attacking you.
  14. Re: Your favorite champions character The next brick I play shall be a huge, hulking monstrosity with a INT of 25+, with a alternate form of skinny weakling with a INT of 3...
  15. Re: Your favorite champions character If I have to name a 'favorite character', it would have to be Samuel. Samuel is a npc martial artist who shows up in every campaign I've run. A former supervillian assassin, now pardoned and retired, he teaches "advanced" martial arts to heroes. His home/dojo is in a nasty neighborhood, with a mysterious lack of crime on the block where the studio is. Down the block from the dojo is a very nice Italian resteraunt where the mob bosses try to work out thier differences without resorting to violence. Samuel provides security... no one violates neutrality without risking Samuel's wrath. Samuel occassionaly disappears. Rumor says that he does work for the CIA, or Primus, or some other group, as part of the deal that gained him his pardon. He had nothing to do with the destruction of the Supervillian group, Deathstroke, the arrest of thier leaders and the deaths of over half thier membership. Never mind he was missing at the same time that this happened, it's just a coincidence.

Theren the Archer, Elven Ranger Goguin the Faithful, Dwarven Cleric Toarn the Maniac, Human Barbarian Alek the Evil, Human Blackguard Samm the Compensating, Human Fighter Sepheris the Scary, Shadow Rogue Darrek the Redundant, Dwarf Fighter Exploring the caves... GM: You hear heavy breathing. Samm: Great, it's a pervert. Darrek: Pervect! Goguin: The force is strong with this one... Dealing with the enemy Sepheris: Shoot first, shoot second, shoot some more. Samm: If violence wasn't your last resort, then you didn't use enough.
