  1. Re: Comics are getting too steamy... Ack...what a low blow..... No, I was thinking that Enforcer84 thinks about every 6 or 7 seconds..... especially if it involves furry creatures.....
  2. Re: Comics are getting too steamy... Not really. It all depends where they got their data. If they had used Enforcer84 as a subject we might be talking 6 or 7 seconds....

  5. Re: A Problem of Dissatisfaction I don't think you need to scrap the concept, though you will probably need to reboot. A couple of things I "think" may help. In a Teen Champs game with a "team" which is what I think your are running there is a little more fleshing out needed than a standard supers game. 1) the supers are a group of teenagers and in almost every series or anime that has that concept there is always an older (adult) somebody in the know and providing guidance. I would generate NPC's for the role. 2) You noted that they didn't have facilities. Once again most time they are being guided/supported by someone/something and will generally have a base of some type, schools and so on. So generate the school/base/headquarters of the "group/person/organization" that is supporting them. "We need to hide Grond till we can figure something out!" "I don't know, but hey! Do you remember the old storerooms on level 5? Know one would look there!" The big thing for me is that in a Teen game I generally have the support structure type stuff in the background. I mean in the Teen Titans animated series, they have a base. But it is never explained where they got it. Unlike adult super groups, repairs and cost are just glossed over as if not important. I consider that part of the teen genre and don't worry about player points. But that is just me
  6. Re: Has anyone ever converted D&D 3 edition monster manuals to Hero system Lord Laiden has a link in his sig to here: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23298 There is a section called DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS 3E/ AD&D with 14 links of stuff/conversions. You will probably be able to find what you are looking for there.
  7. Re: Character: Admiral Dame Honor Harrington Recommendation......read faster.......
  8. Re: Mecha in Star Hero wails louder Wwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :weep:
  9. Re: Anime series as a campaign I have it and think it is a first class supplement! still would like to see a 5th Ed update though......
  10. Re: Mecha in Star Hero I picked up 2040, Crisis and Crash all at the same time for somewhere around $60 from a guy liquidating his Anime last summer. So I watched the entire thing in one marathon viewing. Which means they all sorta run together in my mind. I do remember I liked Crisis better than Crash (by box color ) but I can't remember the details of why .
  11. Re: Mecha in Star Hero No arguments here I actually have Bubblegum Crisis, Bubblegum Crisis 2040, Bubblegum Crash and AD Police. I could see it as a campaign.....
  12. Re: Mecha in Star Hero Bubblegum Crisis or Bubblegum Crash? Older but really really good anime with Mechs and Powersuits.
  13. Re: Sam Rami to do a Pulp Film? This is from memory so I might be wrong or have them mixed up Doc Savage was accompanied by several followers. Ham (lawyer), Renny (construction engineer, dams, buildings, etc.), Monk (chemical engineer), Long Tom(?) (electrical everything), Johnny (archeology) . Each of his companions were a leading world expert in their fields, if not THE worlds greatest. Doc was better than them in everything, a certifiable genius in anything. He was also an example of the pinnacle of human physical capability. Sorta a Pulp era superman.
  14. Re: Anime series as a campaign That is a good series. I think it would work well for a more role play intensive game.
  15. Re: Champions Or Mutants & Masterminds? But this isn't a "which is better" thread. It's a "which do you like better" thread. See completely different..
  16. Re: Sam Rami to do a Pulp Film? Hey! Cruise could do it. He has his own milk crate to stand on
  17. Re: Champions Or Mutants & Masterminds? Naw.... Its just a wee bit dry
  18. Re: Champions Or Mutants & Masterminds? I am just generalizing from what I have read. I still need to actually read the book to venture a solid opinion. Can you give me an example of what you consider an "absolute"? I have yet to find anything I couldn't do if I tried. I am curious.
  19. Re: Champions Or Mutants & Masterminds? My guess is it will be related to how Hero handles SFX and the whole "Reason from Effect" thing. Have him log into the boards, there's a whole crowd who can crack that nut if asked. I was lucky to learn about it way back in '82 when the rulebook was really really small and didn't tax my brain cell too much.
  20. Re: Champions Or Mutants & Masterminds? Well, as I said I will have to pick up M&M core so I can form an opinion. I have several supers systems already, SuperHero 2044, DC Hero, Blood of Heroes, Heroes Unlimited, Villain and Vigilantes. And a couple of others I can’t remember the names for that are buried in “the stacks”. So far none of them have measured up to Hero, IMO anyway. Plus Hero has the advantage of low to zero conversion for pretty much all of the genres I enjoy playing. And the major advantage of not requiring any additional books to play other genres. They have them available, but none of the supplements are required. I like that. Plus the supplements do not routinely introduce “new stuff” that mandates its purchase because everything made “using just the original books” is defacto outmatched by anything in the “new” books. One of the reasons I can’t stand some of the current RPG lines. Each supplement is touted as “you don’t HAVE to use it because the GM can say no”, but everybody knows that if your group all run out and sink $ into a shiny new book, they want to USE it. And get disgruntled if they can’t. So I prefer games where I don't have to spend a few hours in damage control, plot adjustment or other time consuming paperwork just because the publisher whats to throw out another half baked supplement without bothering to balance check it. [/rant] :D
  21. Re: Anime series as a campaign Another one I've heard about but not watched. Didn't BESM have some supps for them? So much Anime, so little time...... Thanks
  22. Re: Sam Rami to do a Pulp Film?
  23. Re: Anime series as a campaign I haven't seen that one yet. For myself I have a few I would like to see. Full Metal Panic for a Modern/Mecha game Banner Of the Stars for StarHero game Bubblegum Crisis for a Cyberpunk/Mecha game and E's Otherwise or X based game.
  24. Re: Anime series as a campaign Well the definition of "Anime" is becoming fairly broad these days... I won't say anything if you don't
