Any word on when this will go live? Need to plan out my cash, got a very fixed income and may have to say to he!! with other bills!
Feb. 1st.
-
It was all Overlord's idea.
-
Per High Rock Press, GGG will be produced in the latter half of 2016.
-
Hopefully, the stretch goals will make available (in PDF format?) some of the massive amount of Aaron's writing for the campaign that didn't make the cut for the main book.
Hopefully.

but I am playing 3rd edition CHAMPIONS and the 4th edition BBB. How much of the new material, that is going to be statted for an edition I don"t even use, am I truly going to miss.
Don't worry, you have plenty of people trpwing money at the project...
You might find the GMing advice and other such system-neutral sections useful, that's all I'm saying. That and the book will contain a lot of testimonials to Aaron and his influence on the industry, as well as a breakdown of his setting and its elements. There's more to the book then a collection of character stats.

that is why I said my comment was insane -- I an hoping that after the 6ed version of STRIKE FORCE comes out, the original version's price will drop, so I can buy the original version.
It is a pure nostalgia collector's purchase for me. Glad you have a new version coming out, but I am not that interested personally in that.
It's a shame you feel that way. The new edition will contain much of the original, especially the GMing advice, but also a lot of new material relating to the campaign and how Aaron ran it.

"You've done a man's job, sir!"
And thank you for the unicorn folded out of a gum wrapper.

Done.
January 14, 2016. 9:30 PM. 96,667 words.Part 01 - IntroductionPart 02 - The Strike Force CampaignPart 03 - The Strike Force SettingPart 04 - Strike Force and the Shadow WarriorsPart 05 - Major Villains and NPCs -
This is going to sound completely insane, but I cannot wait until the new STRIKE FORCE is out so it will (possibly?) drop the cost on the original STRIKE FORCE.
I have regressed back from the 4th edition BBB to the 3rd edition CHAMPIONS...
Just to be clear, the new Strike Force will be written for 6E.

A few more updates -- we have a cover with the "correct" title and logo. Also, I have reached 90,000 words and may... MAY be done by this weekend with my portion of the material.
-
Sweet!
Any change of getting Glenn to do art again? I've not heard from him in years.
We can't find him. So... probably not.
-
-
Not that I can share (yet....).
-
Update: We're at over 73,000 words. I have started assembling the character section -- Strike Force, the Shadow Warriors, the Shadow Knights, and mention of such defunct groups as Avaunt Guard.

I only just heard about all this, including Aaron's death. (I gotta pull my head out of the sand more often.)
Aaron was a HUGE influence on my gamer life.
I LOVED his novel, Doc Sidhe
I still have Strike Force and Blood & Dr McQuark in a box somewhere.
One of my characters that I love more than the others is said to be Phosphene's Half-Sister in my own campaign.
So, off the top of my head:
How do you pronounce "Ean"?
Can we have a Blood sourcebook?
Do you realize that an Ean sourcebook would be as good for Fantasy campaigns as it would for Superhero settings?
Take My Money!
"Ean"? No idea.
A Blood sourcebook depends on how successful the Kickstarter is.
True.

Quick Update -- we're at 60-65k words. I have written up 6 NPCs/villains, and have 17 Hero Designer files for various PCs (some PCs have a start and end file). We are now producing some designer diaries, a rough draft of the first part of the part for Kickstarter backers, and trying to spread the word.
You can help! Let me know about podcasts and mailing lists, and talk about the project on social media.
Kickstarter link to come as soon as I have one.

Tell me more.

This is amazing news and I can't wait for the Kickstarter to launch so I can contribute.
Aaron Allston made a major impact on me with his material. Two of note was the Dungeons and Dragons Rules Cyclopedia (of which I still have my old beat up copy) and, of course, Strike Force.
I loved Strike Force primarily for detailing his campaign and filling us in with what was going on with his group of players as the campaign developed. Being a primary GM for most games, I appreciated the advice and tools he shared for running an effective and dynamic world. I still use the blue book concept in the form of all the electronic conveniences we have at our disposal (software, campaign wikis, etc).
I lost my old copy of Strike Force along with The Blood and Dr. McQuark (The Blood was Aaron Allston's contribution to that book but you already know that).
On a lighter note, I always take pause when I see one of Michael's posts. My birth name is Susano (named after my father) so it takes me a moment to remember that Michael uses that profile name and not an accidental profile change on my part. Lol.
Michael, thanks so much for your hard work. I appreciate the content you produce.
Thank you.

Origin story:
"Short, round and hairy" and I channel various different Wombles as circumstances warrant.
First rodeo:
Basic D&D in about '78; player and DM.
Current gigs:
- D&D 3.5ed putatively fortnightly, but life is making it more like monthly recently.
- King Arthur Pendragon, a campaign intended to run the whole "Great Pendragon Campaign" from Uther to Camlann a year a session, running monthly. We've managed 10.5 years in 12 months.
- Another D&D 3.5 game an a biannual Con I go to.
- Empire: a 4 x a year fest LARP.
I first played Hero system with Champions, possibly even when it first came out, in the early 80s.
If you're looking at Hero-based Shadowrun-alike, have you seen Kazei 5?

- How did you come up with your 'handle' (forum name)?
"Susano" was my first email address (susano@digex.com) and I've used Susano ever since. Susano was selected since I was a huge fan of the manga Orion, and my friend who created the account used the name of one of the main characters for my handle. I've used "Susano" for my net handle ever since.
- What was the first tabletop RPG you played?
Basic Dungeons and Dragons (i.e. the original blue book)
- What was the first tabletop RPG you GMed?
Advanced Dungeons and Dragons
- What are you currently playing/GMing?
Friday Group - Dungeons and Dragons 5E
Saturday Group - Shadows Angelus (HERO System 6E)
Sunday Group - The Well of the Worlds (HERO System 6E)
I am playing in Friday and Saturday and am GMing Sunday.

Ah. That's a point worth clarifying, I think, since Jason's original announcement mentioned SW and M&M. The latest press release doesn't specify anything beyond Hero.
FWIW I updated the announcement of the new SF on the RPGnet forums with that press release plus your posts on your writing progress. I expect someone there to ask about other systems.
The Kickstarter page will be more clear as to what other systems will be addressed. I'm not 100% sure what they are. IIRC, mention was made of M&M, SW, Icons, P&P. and the core book will be HERO.
-
Oh, BTW, has any timetable been set for the M&M and Savage Worlds versions? I'm sure gamers of those systems will want to know.
I think the intent is for MM, Icons, and Prowlers and Paragons. Savage Worlds? Not sure.
Fantasy Hero Complete or FH6?

I'd recommend Fantasy Hero Complete... but I'm biased.
