  1. Re: The Last Word So Brekkies are like Trekkies, only they are obsessed with breakfast foods. Hrm. I wonder if they have arguments about the virtues of cereal vs heavy-hitters like Bacon & Eggs or Biscuits & Gravy. Mmm... Biscuites & Gravy... Okay! time to get some food!
  2. Re: 5e Naked Advantage I don't have 5ER, just 5E. 5ER came out about 3-6 months after I bought 5ER... go figure I'm gonna hafta take a look at it... I missed out on the USPD (maybe Ebay...)
  3. Re: The Last Word Are they anything like Trekkies?
  4. Re: The Last Word I had the kettle on. Had to turn it right back off.
  5. Re: 5E Darkness Elemental (Large) Hrm... PDF's ARE Supported... he must have been using something other than a PDF
  6. Re: 5e Naked Advantage Um... his Telepathy powers are 60 AP, not 40. So it would be 24 points. I only wrote the +1/2 next to IPE to describe the Advantage... really it should read: 24 Subtle Reading: 60 points of Telepathy powers have Invisible Power Effect; Powers are still visible to those with Mental Awareness (-1/4) Thanks.
  7. Re: 5e Naked Advantage The rationale behind all of this is that he is a police officer that is only just begining to gain access to his Mental Powers. At first he just had a danger sense (outside of his MP and was later able to interact psychicly with his K-9 partner. Recently he has started being able read the thoughts of others. The Invisible power effect of his Telepathy is innate - he does it without trying. Finally, the reason why I'm allowing this is because it is cheaper to him. This way he doesn't need to raise his MP reserve to greater heights for just 2 TP powers (one on an AoE, the other normal TP). He just doesn't have the control right now to use more than one of his powers at once, which a high MP reserve would allow. Later on, I'm going to make him dump the Naked Advantage points into his MP Reserve and actually re-build his TP slots to have the IPE. But just starting out? Damage Negation? Is that a 6e thing? I'm playing 5e... Glad you like it.
  8. Re: 5E Darkness Elemental (Large) Thanks! Is there a way of downloading and saving this? I don't have HD, but I do have Open Office and Adobe Reader... If not that's fine, I'll just manually type it into an Office Spread Sheet
  9. Re: 5e Naked Advantage Actually, the naked advantage would be bought outside of the Multipower...
  10. Re: Musings on Random Musings I am sure there are many lesbians that would like to know that answer as well.
  11. Re: The Last Word Let's get what on?
  12. Re: The Last Word It is an e-book available for free. Just google it.
  13. Re: Darkness Elemental Very cool. It's like a Dementor, only better. Have Rep! Do you still have the 5e writeup (I'm not converting to 6 just yet). EDIT: Stupid "Must spread some Rep around blah blah blah." Will someone please Rep him for me?
  14. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine (sarcasm; tone.friendly="on" tone.offensive="off") Funny how they resemble in no way the Teen Titans... (/sarcasm) I recognise the Aqua-girl, Robin and Starfire parodies (you can copy anything under the parody laws)... but who are the others supposed to be?
  15. Okay, one of the players in my PBEM game is playing a police officer that has been slowly developing his mental powers. His primary ability is his mind-link with his canine partner, and he has two Telepathy Slots in his Multipower. I've already ruled that characters with a certain "Schtick" can have powers that break the 60 AP ceiling with GM approval (and this is my idea, mind). Would the following Naked Advantage for his TP slots in his Multipower be a bit too much: 24 Subtle Reading - Naked Advantage: Invisible Power Effects (+1/2 - Only affects up to 60 Active Points); Telepathy Powers only -0, Power Effect are still visible to those with Mental Awareness -1/4 Basically this represents the police officer's ability to read the minds of suspects during interrogations without them knowing it. As most thugs a cop deals with don't have mental powers, they don't pick up on the fact that their brains have been "picked" during the interview. However, this officer has never gone up against someone with the Sense "Mental Awareness" or that has Mental Powers. Also, this officer would be unaware that his powers are still visible to those with Mental Awareness, and his powers do not yet provide Mental Awareness. Feedback very much needed here...
  16. Re: Humans Need Not Apply: Campaigns Without Humans I've guest-played in two campaigns similar in essence. The first was based on Larry Niven's Ring World series... Mankind built a Ring World (think HALO) and filled it up with every Terrestial-compatible life for he could find (it was a massive biological preserve). Then Man wiped himself out. The game used D20 3.5 rules. The Races available in the Ring-World (called Cycle) were the Simi-an (descendants of monkeys the size of Halfling, basically Halfings in everything but name), Saurials (a semi-sentient lizard-folk race Man found amongst the stars and put in his zoo. After a few thousand years they became fully sentient and thus are Lizard Folk), Elves (one group of human-descendants from a low-gravity world) and Dwarves (another group of human descendents from a high-gravity world) and Orcs (what happens when Dwarves and Elves breed). Wizardry was having an understanding of Quantum Physics, Sorcery was having Quantum-Nanites in the blood-stream. Dragons were genetically engineered. So on, so forth. My character was an 10th-level Elven Paladin that was a star-ship captain who's ship crashed on Cycle. The whole adventure was the players assisting me in getting a power-crystal so my ship could fly again. The other campaign was also DnD, but a magical plague wiped out almost all humans, half-elves, and half-orcs. Those that survived bred into the Elves. The only playable races in that campaign were Dwarves, Elves, Halfings, and Gnomes. The character I was playing was the human that created the spell-plague and put himself into stasis (he'd intended the Spell-plague to kill all NON-humans). Talk about backfire.
  17. Re: The Last Word I'm less Gnostic than I am Universal Unitarianist (all faiths have some truth, but there is no "one-true" religion. Have you read God's Debris by Scott Adams (the writer of Dilbert)? Very interesting ideas. As some people are easily offended (and I don't want to turn this thread into a religious debate), I won't post my exact beliefs unless requested.

  21. Re: Musings on Random Musings You mean you were able to read them without glasses once? Do you have microscopic x16 on your vision or something?
  22. Re: The Last Word There was a quote about science vs religion I've always like... Science asks "How did God create us?" Religion asks "Why?" I personally believe that to be true. Then again, I am non-conforming, tree-hugging, Earth-worshipping Pagan who believes in intelligent design and re-incarnation. Throw a little a bit of the concept of ascension from Star Gate SG-1 and there you go. *shrugs and puts on flame-resistant tights*
  23. Re: Nanobots & Zombies I concur, this is a plot device. btw, love the "alien medical nanite accidently reanimating corpses due to a mis-understanding of our physiology". Have some Rep.
  24. Re: Musings on Random Musings Yeah, up to your neck. I mean Tribble, wine glass... use champaign and you have a mini-jacuzi!
