  1. Re: 6e questions - still no move after attack, expensive movement, defense favored, e If you want to attack then move just do a move by or a strafe.
  2. Re: Orbital Satellite Cannon in HERO 6th Edition? Here was my attempt: (70)Uplink to SDI Satellites: Killing Attack - Ranged 5d6, Indirect (Space to ground; +1/4), No Range Modifier (+1/2), Area Of Effect (5m Radius; +1/2), MegaScale-Range (1m = 1,000 km; +1 3/4) (300 Active Points); 1 Recoverable Charge (-1 1/4), Requires A Roll (9- roll; Is there a satellite above target?; -1), IAF (hand held computer uplink; -1/2), Extra Time (Extra Phase, Only to Activate, -1/2)
  3. Re: vampire blood drain (22)Vampire´s bite: Severe Transform 1d6 (human into vampire), (Constant +1/2), (0 END +1/2), (Does BODY +1) (45 Active Points); (AVAD Resistant PD -1) (14)Drink Blood: Healing BODY 1d6, (0 END; +1/2), (Decreased Re-use Duration every segment +1 3/4) (32 Active Points); (Only heals for the amount of damage done -1/2), (Self Only -1/2), (Linked Vampire´s bite -1/4) What do you think?
  4. How would you build this: The vampire can ¨latch on¨ with his fangs and drink his opponents blood, healing damage the vampire has taken (body). I´d say the vampire can get about 1 body for each body worth of blood taken from the victim. I was thinking something like: [KA: penetrating;only after successful grab (-1)] then link maybe a heal to it (not sure if i should use healing, aid, or regeneration). I want this power to be usable in combat so the reapplication time of healing is a bit of a problem. I´m sure I´m over thinking this, anyone have any suggestions?
  5. Re: Nanobots & Zombies If you really want to do a write up maybe use something like Transform Human->Zombie, 1 pip, penetrating, DOT (maybe 20-30 hits, with what ever time increment you want based on about 15 hits to convert a normal person, stopped by maybe a blood transfusion?) just my 2 cents
  6. Re: Lovecraftian-style Magic make sure you have the fish people sleeping with humans of the local fishing village making hybrid babies
  7. Re: Ultra sonic interference device Well if you increase the targets ego enough that their current orders exceed the initial mind-control results I´d say that would immediately terminate the mind control. Also you might be able to convince your GM to give a breakout roll should the category of the control change based on your adding points of Ego (for example if the mind-controller achieved Ego +20 but you gave the victim enough Ego to make this only Ego + 10).
  8. Re: I want to be legal, second opinion? I would suggest making sure you define your powers in English (not game terms!) before you try to build them. Then only take the advantages/limitations needed to simulate what you wrote down. It seems like you have fallen victim to the disease of going through the book trying to find every limitation you can without consideration for their effects. Many people I know have fallen into this dangerous habit. Hopefully you have been cured of this. I´m sure it has been said a million times here but I think it is worth saying again: Limitations that do not limit a power are worth 0 points.
  9. Re: Help! Phaser Disintegration Redux I would just make it RKA - AVAD (forcefields), PENETRATING, DOES BODY. It says in the 6th edition you shouldn´t use penetrating on AVAD attacks without the GM´s permission. Just get the GM´s permission (if you are not the GM). I really don´t think penetrating here is unbalancing. It will make the active cost soar and not add much to the effect. Also while I´m not a big Trek fan, I never got the impression that phasers did damage through shields (so long as the shields held up!) seems to me that forcefield - ablative for shields and RKA - AVAD (forcefields), DOES BODY for phasers should suffice. But I will defer to those who know the genre better than myself.
  10. Re: Dark Sun profanating spell effect
  11. Re: power to delete bank accounts Yeah I would agree these are valid criticisms that do bother me. Maybe it would be best to just resolve this as a sheer folly skill roll (with PS:computer hacking or computer programming).
  12. Re: [5th Ed] Randomizing Area Of Effect ? How about buying the power to its "maximum size" then putting a limitation on it "Limited Power: only does damage 50% of the time to any given hex (-1)". This way you only have to flip a coin or roll a dice for any hex that contains something important.
  13. Re: power to delete bank accounts Ok this is what I've come up with so far. I've tried to refocus the power towards just messing up someones records. Maybe getting their bank account temporarily locked or inserting a warrant for the targets arrest into a police database. Basically things that will cause temporary nuances to the target. Power to temporary mess up someone's computer records: (real cost 20 points). Minor Transform 9d6 (person into person with up to 10 points of altered perks/complications, Healed back by time, computer programming roll, or bureaucracy skill roll.), Improved Results Group (to change perks/complications based on computer records; +1/4), Transdimensional (Single Dimension; cyberspace; +1/2) (79 Active Points); Extra Time (5 Minutes, -2), Limited Power Power loses about half of its effectiveness (requires access to internet, requires knowledge of targets name/personal info; -1) Let me know what you guys think.
  14. Experimenting with creating the power to deleted someone's bank accounts/computer records (computer hacking). The power I'm thinking about going with would be a minor transform person -> person with altered perks/complications. One trouble I'm having is how to deal with the range and line of sight issues since these shouldn't impair the owner of the power but transform is touch ranged by default. Any suggestions? Or maybe I should use a different base power? Also any thoughts on how to "heal" the transform "damage"? Thanks.
  15. Re: Extra SPD only to Dodge Yeah, I have a speedster who has extra DVC with "Only if he moved in his last phase (-1/2)". Might be worth more than that, but this particular character is based on move by's and such so I figured he'd be moving quite a bit.
  16. Re: Black Hole power small black holes shouldn't be too hard to make, but a stellar mass black hole would surely exceed the active point limit of 80 points. As far as building it anyway, my first thoughts would be about a really big change environment.
  17. Re: Professor Null, the Man of Steam Yeah, if that is the effect you are going for (spring loaded fists on chains) I'd say you built it right after all. Somehow I got it into my head you were trying to make long arms
  18. Re: Professor Null, the Man of Steam I'm a little confused by the "Always Direct (-1/4)" limitation on your stretching hands/arms. I think an argument could be made that a normal person using their normal hands inside their reach is normally indirect since you can reach behind stuff, put your hands under stuff and lift it, etc. The image I get in my head from "direct stretching" is someone just jamming their fist out in a straight line to a longer range to punch someone. Just my 2 cents. ETA:I'd also consider Perceivable (-1/2) on your life support since you already have it on your "robot body defenses" and it seems to fit based on your character description (made of wood and metal). I think it would be painfully obvious to any opponent that a poison isn't going to work on you (for example) so they wouldn't waste their time trying one.
  19. Re: Damage Class and Balance as far as comparing killing attacks to normal attacks, don't forgot killing attacks don't do as much knockback as normal attacks.
  20. Re: Rigging Elections in Champions LOL, how about a villain with a really big duplication power casting A LOT of votes Or maybe a villain with a really big cosmetic transform to alter A LOT of ballots!
