  2. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Anyone remember this show?
  3. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. My tastes run more toward Italian opera. But it's not really that hard to understand. Love always plays a major role in the story; it's how the composer presents it. Verdi makes it tragic. Mozart prefers to have a bit of fun instead. And Wagner kills off all the players before anyone reaches orgasm.
  4. Re: Modern-day Pulp? George Sanders wanted to give up the role, so he passed the torch to his brother. And Tom Conway proved to be even more popular as the Falcon. I was able to find a couple of full movies with George Sanders as the Falcon on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVctrzt940U&list=PL6358A2FC9DBA0527 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNcAR55aovU&list=PLB48B4025A6226914&index=1

  10. Re: The cranky thread To the obnoxious loudmouth on the train today: If you were offended when I called you stupid, it's because you know it's true. So does everyone who was on the bus. You have the appearance of a pig, and a personality to match. The only thing that saved you from a broken jaw is that there were too many witnesses, and my time is too precious to waste in prison. The world will be a better place when you die.

  16. Re: Modern-day Pulp? There are quite a few buildings with interiors that would fit right in the Pulp era. The Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco is one example.
  17. Re: Modern-day Pulp? Of course, antique roadsters can still be used, like this one.

  22. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Years ago I had an idea to mix several commercials at once. It went something like this. A man and his young son are sitting in the back of a limousine. The boy is munching on Oreos and drinking milk. He offers his father a cookie. "Very kind of you, Timmy," says Dad, and he takes a bite. "Very nice, but there's something missing here..." "Can you guess what it is?" Timmy takes a sip of milk to give Dad a hint. "I see what you mean." The limo stops under a "Got Milk?" sign next to another limo. Dad addresses the man in the other car. "Pardon me, would you happen to have any Grey Poupon?" Timmy facepalms.

  24. Re: How To Run Interesting Starship Battles There are some stores that sell asteroid and planet miniatures for starship combat. That said, making your own terrain is more fun, and probably a lot cheaper. I'm hopeless at building stuff, so I only make stuff with the most basic designs.
  25. Re: How To Run Interesting Starship Battles I use dice for asteroids myself.
