The boy is munching on Oreos and drinking milk. He offers his father a cookie. "Very kind of you, Timmy," says Dad, and he takes a bite. "Very nice, but there's something missing here..." "Can you guess what it is?" Timmy takes a sip of milk to give Dad a hint. "I see what you mean." The limo stops under a "Got Milk?" sign next to another limo. Dad addresses the man in the other car. "Pardon me, would you happen to have any Grey Poupon?" Timmy facepalms.

Re: How To Run Interesting Starship Battles There are some stores that sell asteroid and planet miniatures for starship combat. That said, making your own terrain is more fun, and probably a lot cheaper. I'm hopeless at building stuff, so I only make stuff with the most basic designs.

My players often enjoy war gaming than rps, so it's easier to get them to play out the combat. But YMMV. If starship combat doesn't play a significant part of the campaign, it's usually better to gloss over it and keep the story moving.

Re: Modern-day Pulp? I've noticed that's the way to go with my current group. They're not into campaigns based on period pieces, so I just overlay the style I want to run (Pulp, Martial Arts, etc.) into the modern day. That seems to get a better reaction.
