  1. Re: The cranky thread Thanks. I still dream of the day all six of them can get along.
  2. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The Bridge to Terabithia on the River Kwai A Bridge to Terabithia Too Far
  3. Re: I have a dream. (and MAN was it wierd!) One of my earliest nightmares was walking with my family by the edge of a ridiculously long pool of water that was hundreds of feet deep. I slipped and fell into the water. I couldn't swim at the time, so I sank into the water. I realized I was going to drown when I woke up.
  4. Re: The cranky thread Thanks. I've already lost too many pets over the last few years. I don't want to lose another one just yet. Hopefully, we've caught it just in time.
  5. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Chariots of Firestarter
  6. Re: The cranky thread The vet called yesterday. It is her kidneys. She got a shot and some special diet today. I take her back in about a week for a blood test. If there's no improvement, we'll have to go for an ultrasound.
  7. Re: Tolkien Elves in Hero No immunity to poison, since in the Silmarillion, Aredhel sickened and died from a poisoned dart thrown by her husband, Eol. Otherwise, as Christopher said.
  8. Re: I have a dream. (and MAN was it wierd!) I don't think I ever had a dream about elephants. I remember having a dream about lions wandering the streets.
  9. Re: I have a dream. (and MAN was it wierd!) There was quite a bit of gaming in my dream. In one part of the dream, I was the GM. A young player's character had gotten close to getting killed, and she was really upset. I told her that her character wasn't dead yet, and could get healed. In another scene, one character had to figure out how to drag the Hulk (who was unconscious) out of a building before it collapsed on them. In another part I my character, a younger son of Elrond. I had been poisioned, but my companion, an elven woman, was able to use her magic to heal me. We had planned to marry. I told her since I was a younger son, I wouldn't inherit Rivendell; I suggested we settle down in Lorien.
  10. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Yesterday, I brought a tea bag to work. I couldn't find a container for milk, but I knew there was some Coffee Mate in the staff room. Not ideal but doable, or so I thought. After I poured some of the cream in my tea, I thought it looked off. Sure enough, it was chocolate flavored. Chocolate tea does not taste good at all. Then again, I'm the guy who once put sugar in my pizza.
  11. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Friend: Do you notice the pizza places never cut up the pies evenly? Me: We need to give them protractors.
  12. Re: Tolkien Elves in Hero I did a few write-ups for 4th Edition. I'll look for them.
  13. Re: More space news! I'm okay with exploring our solar system. Most of the links I've provided deal with new discoveries in the solar system. Like I once told a friend, you ought to know what's in your backyard before you cross the street.
  14. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I know a few pigs who would disagree with that.
  15. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Coworker 1: I enjoy working with you. Me: Well, that's one of you. Coworker 2: That's not true. I enjoy working with you too. Me: Okay, that's two of you.
  16. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. "You're a big meanie, you know that?" "Of course I know. That's why they hired me."
  17. Re: A Thread for Random Musings The reason I stopped telling people I majored in astronomy was because those who didn't ask for their horoscopes asked when I was going to fly on the space shuttle.
  18. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Pitch Blackadder Mr. Bean and Carol and Ted and Alice
  19. Re: I have a dream. (and MAN was it wierd!) I've had a dream where I'm running in a field. I see a hole in the field just big enough for my foot to go inside. I can't avoid it; my foot goes down the hole. Then I wake up with start. Has anyone else had that?
  20. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares What if COBRA Commander turned out to be Edmund Blackadder? Edit: Or Baldrick?
  21. Re: The cranky thread One of my cats has lost a lot of weight and energy. The vet says she may have problems with her kidneys. I'll find out tomorrow.
  22. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Forrest Gump: The Rise of COBRA
  23. Re: Fantasy worlds you had to "rework" years later once you've grown up and knew bett I constantly rework my worlds. Granted, I spend more time doing that than I do running them, so there's less sentimental value that way.
  24. Re: The cranky thread Feel better soon, Xavier.
  25. Re: The cranky thread Some people just don't know when to stop pushing it. Then they're surprised when I get nasty. I actually got in someone's face today. No, I didn't hit him, although I wanted to; I just got my point across.
