  1. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Bubba Blowhard and the Temple of the Psychic Doughnut Okay, it's not based on anything. I just needed to let it out before I imploded.
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I once tried to play water polo, but my horse drowned.
  3. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Some longsword competitions
  4. Re: The cranky thread Judo has been an Olympic event for decades, long before Taekwondo was added. Epee is one of the fencing styles.
  5. Re: The cranky thread The USA didn't fare well in Judo or Men's Epee. I guess we won't be seeing any coverage on TV.
  6. Re: A Thread for Random Musings If you're going to write a report on the Olympic swimming events, make sure you word it properly. Right: They're doing the breast stroke. Wrong: They're breast stroking.
  7. Re: Hard sci-fi adventures? Thanks for the recommendation, Maelstrom.

  17. Re: The cranky thread Sorry to hear that, CC. I agree with SatinKitty that seeing a counselor may help. Best of luck to you.
  18. Re: The cranky thread Thanks for the support, guys. Some good news, though. I was able to stop the scammers before they could get any money from me. I also reported them to the cops, the FTC, and the websites where they placed their ads (legitimate job search sites). The FTC rep I spoke to thinks the people are classic con artists rather than identity thieves. And the policeman I spoke to was impressed by the detail I gave him (I took notes of everything and turned them in). Maybe justice will be done.

  20. Re: Old Immortal RPG Legacy: War of Ages basically was a Highlander setting without using the name. There were a few elements similar to the World of Darkness. Vampires were all called Nosferatu, and Warlocks existed as well. Instead of Werewolves, they had Chimerae, which could shapeshift, but had to absorb their mass of living beings (who they impersonated afterwards) every month. Dwimmerlaiks were supernatural horrors. Didn't bblackmoor write this one? There is a Vampire supplement called War of Ages, which has nothing to do with this game. As for Immortal: The Invisible War, it had some interesting ideas, but the system was a bit hard to understand. They created a new system when they made a new edition, and they even changed the politics.

  22. Re: A Thread for Random Musings "I didn't miss; he moved out of the way!" "If all else fails, we can always go old-school and put rat poison in his soup."
  23. Re: The cranky thread I may not even make it that far. Between fighting off a scam (and possibly an identity theft attempt) yesterday and my great aunt dying today, I'm drained physically, mentally, and emotionally.
  24. Re: Constellation Trivia Hee's a list of Chinese constellations, including their Western equivalents.
