  1. Re: The cranky thread Work on Friday was a mess fro start to end. We were short-handed, and my work schedule got messed up.
  2. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Pimples and Warts HERO
  3. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Enter the Dragon Tales
  4. Re: The cranky thread Sorry to hear that, CC. I agree with SatinKitty that seeing a counselor may help. Best of luck to you.
  5. Re: The cranky thread Thanks for the support, guys. Some good news, though. I was able to stop the scammers before they could get any money from me. I also reported them to the cops, the FTC, and the websites where they placed their ads (legitimate job search sites). The FTC rep I spoke to thinks the people are classic con artists rather than identity thieves. And the policeman I spoke to was impressed by the detail I gave him (I took notes of everything and turned them in). Maybe justice will be done.
  6. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The New Karate Kid on the Block Aqua Teen Hunger Force Five from Navarrone
  7. Re: Old Immortal RPG Legacy: War of Ages basically was a Highlander setting without using the name. There were a few elements similar to the World of Darkness. Vampires were all called Nosferatu, and Warlocks existed as well. Instead of Werewolves, they had Chimerae, which could shapeshift, but had to absorb their mass of living beings (who they impersonated afterwards) every month. Dwimmerlaiks were supernatural horrors. Didn't bblackmoor write this one? There is a Vampire supplement called War of Ages, which has nothing to do with this game. As for Immortal: The Invisible War, it had some interesting ideas, but the system was a bit hard to understand. They created a new system when they made a new edition, and they even changed the politics.

  9. Re: A Thread for Random Musings "I didn't miss; he moved out of the way!" "If all else fails, we can always go old-school and put rat poison in his soup."
  10. Re: The cranky thread I may not even make it that far. Between fighting off a scam (and possibly an identity theft attempt) yesterday and my great aunt dying today, I'm drained physically, mentally, and emotionally.
  11. Re: Constellation Trivia Hee's a list of Chinese constellations, including their Western equivalents.
  12. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Band of Venture Brothers Grimm
  13. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Well done, Egyptoid!
  14. Re: The cranky thread With a little altering via Photoshop, you can use those pics as visual aids in your next FH game.
  15. Re: The cranky thread It does seem to be a common theme.
  16. Re: How to Build: A Timelord Offhand: Universal Translator, since the Doctor can communicate with anyone in the universe. He can also share this ability with his companions. I remember a Tom Baker episode (The Curse of Mandragora?) mentioning this. The new series also allows the Doctor and his companions to translate written material. There is at least one old thread on these boards about Time Lords.
  17. Re: The cranky thread I'm sick of working hard and not getting recognized for my efforts, while incompetent brown nosers get promoted.
  18. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Indiana Jones in Sesame Street
  19. Re: A Thread For Random Links For some reason I started remembering this song (or parts of it, anyway), and now it's stuck in my head. I haven't heard it for decades. I remember the darndest things. WARNING: This song isn't exactly PC by today's standards. Just a heads-up.
  20. Re: Hard sci-fi adventures? The first war of the solar system took a big toll on everyone. Much of Earth was destroyed, leaving the colonies largely ignored and underfunded. Air, water, and food aren't being transported to the colonies as often as they were, and the colonies aren't sure they can provide enough supplies to everyone. As if the prospect of dying from asphyxiation or starvation wasn't bad enough, the colonists also have to deal with the relics of the war, from debris to ammunition that missed its target. Fortunately, most of the missiles automatically detonated if they found no viable target or ran out of fuel. But railgun shells keep going until they hit something, maybe the dome of a colony. Hell of a thing, getting killed by friendly fire months after the shooting stops.

  22. Re: A Thread For Random Links I forgot about this thread. Otherwise, I would have posted some stuff here instead of elsewhere.
