  1. Okay! I'm starting a Modern Day Horror Game (4e rules, 75/75 Characters, AP limit of 30 and Def Limit of 10). I know that some members of the group are gonna wanna play magic users, and I need a cheap way of handling magic. Should I use a VPP, EC, or Multipower? MP sounds like it would be the easiest solution, but the PC's are gonna need more than just a few spells, they'll need spells that ward off speicifc types of monsters, force Changlings into their true form, etc... You know... Buffy/Angel kind of stuff (I myself don't know that much about the series, but that's pretty much what it's based off of - I love the genre). The previous needs would indicate a VPP... But what about Combat Magic? The way I'm thinking for the "Specific Spells" would require hours of research to change the VPP, but that would make it almost impossible to set up combat magic. Majorly in need of help!
  2. I had thought of this earlier... great minds think alike lol
  3. Nope, the attack carries on by itself even after Freeza is defeated. It requires no conscious control. And the reason for it burrowing to the center of the planet is, the energy beam exploads with such force that it engulfs the whole planet from the inside out. Maybe a huge RKA with EX, and Indirect with No Conscious Control and extra Time?
  4. I don't wanna just burn a hole in the planet, I wanna blow it up entirely. The attack would be large sphere (about 3" wide) and would burrow into the planet's core, then explode. Here's the kicker: Let's say I want the beam to be generated by a person. He creates the beam, throws it into the planet, and can keep fighting until it exploads. It doesn't even have to be a person, let's say it's a satelite with a doomsday cannon. How would I simulate firing the beam, and letting it dig to the planet's core before going BOOM? Keep in mind, the beam is a sphere of energy and is self powered, leaving the user able to keep fighting. DBZ Example: Freeza launches his death cannon into the Planet's surface. It takes several minutes to expload, but Freeza is still able to fight Goku during the entire time.
  5. Re: Re: Enough Power to Destroy A Planet? Only one problem with Star HERO... (okay... 4 Problems) 1) I don't have it 2) The local Gaming Store doesn't carry any HERO Products 3) It costs extra to order 4) I don't have any money I do plan on asking for 5e Core Rulebook (Champions Universe?), and UNTIL Super Powers Database for my B-Day/X-Mas (both 6 months away)
  6. How much damage would it take to destroy the Earth? In other words, how much BODY and what type of DEF does the Earth Have? The reason I'm asking this is, I'm trying to devolope a typical doomsday machine in HERO 4e Terms that would blow the Earth to smithereens. EDIT: This would also be handy for trying to figure out how much power in a Dragon Ball Z Campaign :-p
  7. Um... I thought when doing double-barrel attacks (such as twin buster rifle), you bought the power for 2x damage (16d6 in your case), and tacked on "Reduced Penetration." Though Penetrating and Reduced Penetrating would be kinda redundant...
  8. Good point about the whole water thing... he's supposivly super-dense, yet lilo and others can pick him up with no problem. I would buy his swimming down to 0, and buy a physical limitation: Sinks in Watter (Uncommon, Total)
  9. WARNING!! BRAIN FART!!! TK with the Exploding advanatage :-D No? Darn...
  10. Tough one... One the one hand, paying the extra +1 for an AoE SHOULD allow you to affect EVERYTHING in the area with full STR. However, it also makes sense that the STR has to be rationed off. I would go for 20 TK STR with an area of Effect Radius, would exert 20 STR on everything with in the area. So if there are 2 people that weigh 400kg standing next to eachother, the 20 STR should be able to lift BOTH of them, not one or the other. Just my $.02
  11. Super Blue: If SB wanted to kill him, he'd rely more on his Energy Blasts than his 35 STR and Martial Arts. At any rate, his Code vs Killing should manage to keep him outta hot water, but he would fully cooperate while asking his team mates to help him. Shifter: Shifter has a massive Code vs Killing, and with his ties to PRIMUS he would allow the law to handle it (at any rate, they'd have to put him in a cell hardened against teleporters - even though he wouldn't escape.
  12. Okay, I know in HtH combat, that it would take a killing attack to break bones. My question is: How would you handle immobilizing someone's arm? Would this just be a special FX of the Killing Attack? Would there be a minimum amount of BODY that has to be dealt? Also, what if a PC/NPC falls, lands on their arm, and is broken? Would these be GM's call (in either Heroic/Super Heroic campaign)?
  13. Uh.... *slowly backs away from Rage... then turns and full out runs*
  14. Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Bejita What do you mean?
  15. Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Bejita TOO LATE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! *Hair turns gold, eyes become blue-green, starts glowing* Ah, if only it were true
  16. Re: Re: Re: Re: Bejita I hope you guys aren't talking about me, you'd make me angry - and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry *vein in temple throbbing*
  17. While I'm kinda not happy they didn't stick with the Cosmic Radiation turning her into Pheonix, I think it's cool that they set it up so she already had that potential, just she never used it until the flood.
  18. I don't know abotu FRED, but 4e says this: Programs Cost 1 Point Program: Move from Point A to Point B would require the following: Transport FAM (Vehical/Ship), Combat Driving/Piloting, Navigation So that would be 1 Point for the Program, 1 Point for the TF, 3 Points for Combat Driving/Piloting, and 3 Points for Navigations, coming to 8 Points Total As I said, this is 4e, not FRED
  19. 1d6 HKA - Sword (15) 1d6 RKA - Flame, No Range, Linked to Sword (15) OAF Independant (Optional) AP: 30 RC: 12 (or 7 if Independant) EDIT: Suppose I better do the math Non-Independant: Sword: 15/(1+1) = 7 (OAF) Flame: 15/(1+2) = 5 (OAF, No Range, Linked to Sword) Total: 12 Points Independant: Sword: 15/(1+3) = 4 (OAF, IND) Flame: 15/(1+4) = 3 (OAF, IND, No Range, Linked to Sword) Total: 7
  20. My Turn. Super Blue - try to save his life. Killing him would be wrong - especially in his current state, and he'd make sure no one tried to coup de grace him (even if it meant fighting his own teammates or another Hero). Shifter - Teleport his armor off his body, and teleport him to a hospita ASAP. If he tried something funny, he'd say "sit still or I might accidently teleport your head off" (though he wouldn't really, code vs killing is a real female dog sometimes).
  21. You are in the middle of a battle (along side 6 other super-Hero teams) with Dr. Destroyer when he clutches his chest and falls over (Heart Attack). His armies are still attacking people, and overall just reaking havoc. What do you do?
  22. Keep in mind I'm stuck with 4e... Anyway, my mystic character in my PBEM game has a few XP to spend, so I want to purchess a Summon Spell (going for a lesser dragon). How is "Slavishly Loyal" done? Is it a power advantage or extra point I spend in the base cost?
  23. My character's main ability is Teleportation... The Martial Arts represent the training he received while VIPER had him brainwashed to be an assasin.
  24. Do it like this: 1 Character Point = $1000, then make players spend XP/Reward money
