A funny thing about cops and dogs:
 
If someone kills a police dog, it's treated as if they killed a human officer; but if one of the scumbags in blue kills your family pet for sh*ts and giggles, they can laugh right in your face and suffer no meaningful consequences for their misdeeds. About the only thing that keeps you sane when reading about such incidents is imagining a pack of ravenous hellhounds pouncing on them and ripping them to pieces over and over again throughout all eternity...

Okay, let me get this straight: An off duty cop, not even in uniform no less, assaults and batters an innocent person for no good reason and is not currently languishing in a jail cell?! I realize this is New York Sh*tty we're talking about, but Whiskey Tango Foxtrot just the same.

I think part of the problem with the police who themselves break the law or abuse their authority merely 'resigning' is there is little to keep them from heading to another area of the country and getting a new job with a new police department. Sure, their background might raise a red flag, but the new department might also just note that they 'quit their job' instead of 'were fired'. So you have Bad Cop #3 get caught using excessive force on year, and quitting. But in three years, he could be wearing another badge doing the same thing all over again.

Here is some good news:
 
The jerk that put a law abiding young woman in a chokehold for not respecting his 'authoritah' has resigned. He should have been fired and lost any benefits he had, but at least he isn't wearing the uniform anymore. Good riddance to filthy trash.

Whatever your opinion may be of Alex Jones and Infowars, the fact remains that they caught this moron on camera saying all this, and it is a reflection on the kind of "training" these goosestepping pinheads are getting.

Unfortunately, suing the department only means the taxpayers get stuck with the bill, always assuming you can even make a case that will stick. The "higher ups" you speak of go to great lengths to insulate themselves from the consequences of their own misdeeds and those of their detestable little minions.They will only consider amending their ways if they lose their protection; if things start getting more and more...dangerous for them.
