Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Peaceniks First Appearance: 6/10/1964 Location: Berkeley, California Last Appearance: 12/1/1975 Location: San Francisco, California Reason: To protect the people. Members: Flower, Moonbeam, Starflash, Sunshine Area of Operations: San Francisco Bay Area, occasionally other parts of the United States Status: Disbanded History The Peaceniks were are group of paranormal hippies. Part of their time was spent protesting the war in Vietnam and making sure "Big Brother" did not infringe upon the rights of people to freely assemble and express themselves. The rest of their time was spent helping others and sometimes fighting paranormal criminals. The Peaceniks most famous paranormal encounter was when they stopped one of Black Sheba's rampages through the marina district of San Francisco. The Peaceniks later drew a lot of bad press when they refused to assist Team: Able in capturing Black Sheba. The group disbanded in 1975 when US troops were withdrawn from Vietnam. 10. Re: The Namesake Thread Here is the origin of my handle... it was a company in one of my original Champions campaigns that moved into the Wardens Chronicles campaign when I started merging some of the elements of my original campaigns into one unified campaign multiverse... CONCORD TECHNOLOGIES Adkinson Research Shackleford Industries Hendricks Electronics Drakkar Enterprises Protek Security Services OFFICERS Michael Hendricks, Jr - President Patricia Shackleford Hendricks - Vice President, Operations Paul Gerald Drakkar - Vice President, Research Daniel Weldon - Vice President, Manufacturing Candace Adkinson Leddy - Vice President, Marketing Quenton Vereese - Vice President, Security Systems OVERVIEW Concord Technologies is a privately held firm specializing in electronics and materials technologies based in Carrington, New York. Concord Technologies produces a variety of products for the aviation and aerospace industry but is primarily known for its Protek line of security system products. Concord Technologies was created from several mergers over the course of three decades and two of the original component companies date back to the 1930s. Three companies, Adkinson Research, Shackleford Industries and Hendricks Electronics, formed the basis for Concord Technologies with their merger in 1962 to form A.S.H. Enterprises. A.S.H. Enterprises merged with Drakkar Enterprises in 1980 to form Concord Technologies. The acquisition of Protek Security Services in 1988 brought Concord Technologies to its current form. Concord Technologies has a long history of working as a contractor for the United States government. Adkinson Research and Hendricks Electronics worked on government projects during World War II. The merger that formed A.S.H. Enterprises took place while the three component companies were working for NASA on the Apollo program. Concord Technologies itself was formed while A.S.H. and Drakkar were working on Project: Panopticon. Concord Technologies has also worked on the Freedom Spacestation program, the Defense Department's Project: Watchman and the Federal Security Service uses a wide variety of Protek products. In 1995, Concord Technologies suffered two major losses at the hands of paranormal criminals. The first, the destruction of a research facility, cost the company over one hundred million dollars and the loss of a government contract because of lost research. The second, an attack on a corporate trade show killed Michael Hendricks, Sr., caused a shake up in the corporate officers. The new president of Concord Technologies, Michael Hendricks, Jr. decided to revamp corporate security forces, so that they could deal with such threats in future.
  11. Re: Supers: How'd they get that way (and why do so many of them wear long johns?) The world of the Wardens Chronicles works a lot like you describe above... Genetics is not the only thing that makes a paranormal a paranormal... everyone has the potential to be more... The traumatic event is also just another element of change, the crucible, if you will... The final element is desire, whether an openly expressed want or a suppressed subconscious need, desire plays a part in the creation of a paranormal... It is what made a lab assistant, who fervently wished to prove that his mentor's theory of evolution was correct, able to survive exposure to intense amounts of cosmic radiation and become the super-evolved Prime... It is what made a Norman knight, who more than anything wanted to prove himself worthy in his father's eyes, be selected by strangers for a great quest of honor in a far away land and time... the Knight of St. Michael... It is what makes some 'super-soldier' experiments extremely successful... and others abysmal failures... It is how an inventor comes up with the gadget that allows him to fly, yet no one else can figure out how it works... It is how the lowly apprentice who diligently studies the esoteric tomes of his master learns how to manipulate the world around him... like magic... It is also how those of dark desires gain the ability to threaten others, the world or the multiverse... Potential, Crisis and Desire... .

  15. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Russian Battlesuits Delenev P-1A Battlesuit Description: The battlesuit stands 7' (2.13 m) tall and weighs in at 350 lbs (159 kg). The standard Delenev P-1A battlesuit and its sub-assemblies have a steel gray finish, In practice the battlesuit has been spotted in many different color schemes. The combat helmet has a mirrored oval visor and secures to the shoulder and collar assembly. The integrated AZ-7 blaster is housed in the lower right arm with a firing port on the back of the right gauntlet. The battlesuit has an armored hump on the lower back about four to six inches in height that houses the suit's power and environmental control systems. http://www.angeva.com/redbook/downloads/russianbattlesuit1a.hdc Delenev P-1B Battlesuit Description: The battlesuit stands 7' (2.13 m) tall and weighs in at approximately 375 lbs (171 kg). Outwardly, the Delenev P1-B battlesuit looks very similar to the standard P-1A configuration and usually only an expert can tell the differences without carefully study. The P-1B battlesuit and its sub-assemblies have a dark green finish some were field modified with various camouflage patterns as well as stylized unit insignias. Just as with the P-1A, the combat helmet has a mirrored oval visor and secures to the shoulder and collar assembly. The integrated AZ-7 blaster is housed in the lower right arm with a firing port on the back of the right gauntlet. One of the differences between the P-1A and P-1B is the power and environmental systems hump, both are on the lower back but the P-1A is four to six inches in height where the P-1B is two to four inches in height. Since the P-1B does not have a computer targeting system, it lacks the system's two collar mounted targeting sensors. http://www.angeva.com/redbook/downloads/russianbattlesuit1b.hdc Delenev P-1X Battlesuit Description: The Delenev Type P-1X battlesuit stands 7'2" and weighs approximately 500 pounds. The Delenev P-1X battlesuit and its sub-assemblies have a steel gray finish, but many different camouflage schemes were proposed in the design specifications. The combat helmet has a mirrored oval visor and secures to the shoulder and collar assembly. The integrated AZ-7 blaster is housed in the lower right arm with a firing port on the back of the right gauntlet. The battlesuit has an armored hump on the lower back about four to six inches in height that houses the suit's power and environmental systems. The main difference between the standard P-1A and the P-1X is the mini-rocket launcher system. It is contained in an armored pack and mounts on top of the power and environmental systems hump on the rear of the suit with a counter weight system projecting under the shoulders and around the waist of the battlesuit. The counter weight system gives the P-1X battlesuit a very distinctive look allowing quick differentiation between it and the P-1A/B. http://www.angeva.com/redbook/downloads/russianbattlesuit1x.hdc American Battlesuits Alpha Response Force HGA-1 Battlesuit Description: The Alpha Response Force Heavy Ground Assault Battle Suit stands 6'8" and weighs approximately 450 pounds. The HGA-1 Battlesuit is fully enclosed from the outside atmosphere. The combat helmet has a black visor, speakers and sound receivers. The HGA-1 Battlesuit's weapon suite features two wrist-mounted heavy pulse blasters and two shoulder mounted grenade launchers. The color scheme for the HGA-1 Battlesuit varies depending on the expected deployment area. It has camouflage patterns for forest, jungle, desert, urban and arctic environments. http://www.angeva.com/redbook/downloads/arf-hga1.hdc Alpha Response Force LAS-1 Battlesuit Description: The Alpha Response Force Light Air Scout Battle Suit stands 6'6" and weighs approximately 350 pounds. The wing assembly has a variable wingspan from six to eight feet. The LAS-1 Battlesuit is fully enclosed from the outside atmosphere. The combat helmet has black visor, speakers and sound receivers. The LAS-1 Battlesuit's weapon suite features two shoulder mounted grenade launchers. The color scheme for the LAS-1 Battlesuit is a light gray on the front and lower wing surfaces, and dark gray on the back and upper wing surfaces. http://www.angeva.com/redbook/downloads/arf-hga1.hdc .

  24. Re: How Do You Handle Machine-Class Mental Powers? Something to consider is that high-tech fighter jets and some of the newer commercial airliners use fly by wire technology... the controls are hooked to a computer that reads the input of them being moved and then activates the hydraulic systems to move the control surfaces... Additionally, newer vehicles use a similar system for accelerator pedals... press the pedal and a computer reads the input then it sends a signal for gas flow to be increased or decreased... my wife's Saturn Vue has this... I was somewhat taken aback when our mechanic told me about it... Something you may want to consider is putting together a chart that gives computers that are not stat'ed out a complexity rating equal to an 'INT' stat range. Simple 5 Medium 8-10 Complex 11-15 Highly Complex 16-20 Supercomputer 21+ Then do a few example systems... Cell Phone - Simple Car Engine Computer - Medium Airliner Flight Controls - Complex Fighter Jet Weapons Computer - Highly Complex Weather Pattern Simulation Computer - Supercomputer Then you can slot new computers on the fly... .
