Bubba was bragging to his boss one day, "You know, I know everyone there is to know. Just name someone, anyone, and I know them."

Tired of his boasting, his boss called his bluff, "OK, Bubba how about Tom Cruise?" "Sure, yes, Tom and I are old friends, and I can prove it."

So Bubba and his boss fly out to Hollywood and knock on Tom Cruise's door, and sure enough, Tom Cruise, shouts, "Bubba! Great to see you! You and your friend come right in and join me for lunch!" Although impressed, Bubba's boss is still skeptical. After they leave Cruise's house, he tells Bubba that he thinks Bubba's knowing Cruise was just lucky.

"No, no, just name anyone else," Bubba says. "President Bush," his boss quickly retorts. "Yes," Bubba says, "I know him, let's fly out to Washington." And off they go. At the White House, Bush spots Bubba on the tour and motions him and his boss over, saying, "Bubba, what a surprise, I was just on my way to a meeting, but you and your friend come on in and let's have a cup of coffee first and catch up."

Well, the boss is very shaken by now, but still not totally convinced. After they leave the White House grounds, he expresses his doubts to Bubba, who again implores him to name anyone else.

"The Pope," his boss replies. "Sure!" says Bubba. "My folks are from Poland, and I've known the Pope a long time." Off they fly to Rome. Bubba and his boss are assembled with the masses in Vatican Square when Bubba says, "This will never work. I can't catch the Pope's eye among all these people. Tell you what, I know all the guards so let me just go upstairs and I'll come out on the balcony with the Pope."

Bubba disappears into the crowd headed toward the Vatican. Sure enough, half an hour later Bubba emerges with the Pope on the balcony. By the time Bubba returns, he finds that his boss has had a heart attack and is surrounded by paramedics. Working his way to his boss' side, Bubba asks him, "What happened?"

His boss looks up and says, "I was doing fine until you and the Pope came out on the balcony and the man next to me said, " Who's that on the balcony with Bubba?

I went to Vegas for my first time this past weekend. Overall had a generally enjoyable time, except for one black spot.

Another first I had while there was my first visit to a comedy club. Something I'd always wanted to do. However the 'comedian' chose to spend 15 - 20 minutes insulting me and my fiancee, to the point that we A) Left after 30 minutes Lodged a complaint with the management and C) reduced my fiancee to tears.

So my first visit to something I always wanted to do now brings back memories of nothing more than sheer unbridled hatred for the person behind the microphone. The only positive out of all this is that there's a very good chance that assmonkey won't ever get a job at Harrah's again (He'd apparently racked up the complaints, with ours being the final and worst complaint).

Still it saddens me that something that should bring joy and humor into ones life now is associated with anger, hatred and rage (No, not you Rage, sit down). And to top it all off, it ruined a damned good movie for me too, since the comedian was the voice of Roger Rabbit.

Oh well, at least I can look favorably at my other other first, my first swedish massage.

My secretary is amused by the ring tone on my cell phone. She's gotten good at timing when to call me just as I'm entering someone's office for an audit. lol

This is a tone Old Man would appreciate as well.

Just got word today that they ARE extending my contract to the end of the year - good news at last.

Of course, it will STILL be 14 jobs in 10 years... but I guess its better than 15.

Prayers and well wishes for my son would be appreciated.

He has Tourette's Syndrome, and so of course gets his share of teasing. He has a great attitude though, and says if they don't understand then they have a problem, not him. But he got new medication teh other day, and today he had a real emotional rollercoaster of a day. Apparently he was crying so hard that his back started to spasm, and now his back is hurting him terribly. I'm sure the other kids will have a field day with this . . . Anyhoo, my wife got him out of school early (at that point he was sleeping in the nurse's office), and I'm staying home with him tomorrow. But tonight my wife showed up at my rehearsal and brought me home 'cause he was having a really hard time.

I'm hoping the medicine just needs to run its course. I've done more than my share of chemical experimentation, and I have experienced some real hell in "coming down" - I really feel for the little guy. That kind of thing is hard enough when self-induced and half expected, but must be a nightmare for a child.

Four more days until I get the CAT scan results. I've never been worried about it before so why am I this time? Its only been 16 months since the chemo ended. It can't be back already. This sucks. Where's my Wellbutrin?

I gave myself to the misty light
I was hypnotized by a strange delight
    Under the lilac trees

I made wine from the lilac tree
Put my heart in it's recepie
It makes me se what I want to see
And be who I want to be

I think more than I want to think
And do things I never should do

Okay, I've had this freaking cold for over 2 weeks now and I'm starting to get pissed off. It started in my chest which caused so much coughing that it strained a muscle in my lower back. Then it moved up to my sinuses as the cough faded. Soon after it moved up to my ears and they are now totally clogged... oh, and it moved back down into my chest again too. Yay. Yay, I say. Did I mention I was sick my entire vacation?

If my ears aren't better by next week I'm gonna be in a world of hurt when we fly out to Indy for Gencon.
