Like his father, Pierre Devereaux is an excellent cook.  That's not his profession, however.  He's a brilliant biochemist, though he's fond of pointing out that  "Cooking is simply Chemistry where your laboratory is the kitchen."  When Monsieur Souffle was unmasked as Gaston Devereaux, Pierre was devastated and mortified.  People seemed inclined to condemn the son for the sins of the father, so Pierre quit his job and put his skills to use creating foods that go beyond simple nutrition to actually increase healing from injuries or diseases.  He's also branched into dishes that increase natural abilities beyond their norms for up to an hour, such as his Quickness Quiche or his Muscles Marinara.  He wears a mask and hides his true identity, of course, since nobody would trust the culinary creations of Monsieur Souffle's son.  As the Dietitian he doesn't have any offensive capabilities at all, but he does help buff up the other SotF's prior to battles and assists Mercy with helping injured noncombatants.

An generate stun bolts the snake heads are semi mobile and contain micro injectors that can deliver a cornucopia of benificial drugs her gauntlets contain defibrillators and the suit has a full suite of diagnostic sensors. A utility belt containing a full field trauma kit on her back she wears a wing like flight harness which can also generate a defensive shield bubble. Mercy is a skilled combatant but will always concentrate on rescuing civilians getting them to safety first secondly she considers her self bound by the hypocratic oath first do no harm she will not harm a living being but loves zombies and robots etc because she has some anger to work out.

Brock Lee
 
Mutant martial artist Brock's skin is green and instead of hair his head is covered in dozens of sensor tendrils the sensory orbs at there tops that give him extraordinary situational awaress 360 degree vision enhanced hearing. He can sense subtle shifts in air pressure and electromagnetic fields and track even tiny quantities of air borne chemicals.
 
His senses make him extremely good at detecting his enemies weaknesses but are also his weakness and can easily overwhem him if he is exposed to too much stimulus.

Is the teams ground transport it's high maneuverability is archived through 4 independent wheels on hydraulic legs allowing the vehicle to drive in any direction and even climb the central armoured passenger pod is contained in a gimballed mount that keeps the passengers level no matter how the wheels are positioned.

Brian Marchire Is b1t R0t mainframe 2.0s infiltrator he has the ability to corrupt data in both organic and electronic systems with machines it manifests as electronic locks opening at a touch surveillance footage turning into so much distorted static filled trash and radio signals becoming unintelligibly garbled. On humans and animals it requires direct contact but causes disorientation dizziness and eventually unconsciousness with recent memory amnesia.
 
Brian was a system security tester before gaining his powers he is well versed in social engineering as well as lockpicking and other security bypass techniques.
 
He was also a big parkour and martial arts fan and uses both during operations he has developed a fighting style built around jujitsu and wing Chun that maximizes contact time for his power.
 
He developed his powers after a freak accident in a lab who's security he was auditing.
 
Brian's biggest fear weakness and motivation all stem from the same thing his power can't be switched off though he can control the power level somewhat he didn't realise this when he first got his powers and his fiancee and childhood sweetheart lost all memory of him and now is in a care home due to what the doctors consider extremely early onset altzheimers
 
Brian hopes to use the spoils from his crimes to find a cure for both of them.
 
Because of the side effects Brian is rude and standoff ish with the rest of the team he doesn't like to be touched and is fearful of crowds.

X-ray
 
Raymond Exley was perhaps benefited the least from the expedition to the tomb but was still cursed his small London based custom scientific optic company was almost bankrupt until a large order for custom equipment came from the expedition. Ray didn't even know about the dig until after the curse had struck he woke in a sweat late at night and found that his vision was gone replaced with a strange X-ray like vision that let him see inside objects and people but he lost his normal sight no longer able to see colours faces or read text on a page.
 
Raymond consulted the best optometrist neurologists and even occultists to find a cure squandering the wealth he had acquired from the expedition.
 
every night he awoke in a cold sweat from dreams of a temple complex in the jungle and others twisted by a curse all day as he attempted to adjust to his strange new eyes he felt a tug to the south west.
 
It was'nt until he awoke in his pajamas at Heathrow that he surrender to the inevitable and flew to south America to find the source of the visions. During a long and arduous trek through the jungle Raymond discovered 3 things the first was that he was an excellent shot.
 
The second was nothing living could escape his gaze he could see through rock and foliage and the third was that being able to see your targets vital organs like you used to be able to see A face makes a gun even more deadly. Ray is a somewhat bookish looking apart from the very dark shades with eye cups he wears to disguise his eyes which appear inverted white pupils blood red irises with copper flecks surrounded by deep black sclera. He carries a Beretta pistol he took off the body of a man who attacked him.
 
Beyond his X-ray vision Raymond also gets prophetic visions and hints of danger he only ever sees bad things.

Fordite
 
Jamal Edsel Fordham was born in Detroit and no one is quite sure how he got his powers it might be from industrial waste or just natural mutation what is known is that when Detroit was destroyed in 1992 6 year old Jamal was found shielding his baby sister with his own body and his skin had turned into a vibrant patchwork of colours. Now in his late 20s Jamal has been a super hero his whole life. while his power is mostly defensive invulnerability with a little super strength he has learnt to maximize it he has excellent tactical skills and trains himself in martial arts and in superhuman physiology psychology and culture to allow him to find and exploit weaknesses and counter the strengths of his foes.
Fordite's name comes from peculiar visual effect of his power when ever his invulnerable skin prevents damage it changes colour and changing hue as he absorbs more damage and then slow fading at different rates when he rests making him appear like Fordite a mineral created in the autoplants from the accumulation of hundreds of layers of car paint being heated again and again. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fordite

Atomic-Robo a superb comic about a robot built by Nikola Tesla has gone web comic rather than conventional publishing. It has a lot of pulp elements currently it's updating with 1 issue of the  Mon, Wed and Fri and it's right in the middle of Vol 5, Atomic Robo and the Deadly Art of Science.  
 
in which Atomic Robo meets Jack Tarot (A vigilante styled gunman who fights crime and leaves tarot cards as marks of his work.).
 
Jack mentors Robo in vigilantism. Very reluctantly. Meanwhile, mobsters from the Chicago and New York syndicates raid hightech firms. The famed Crystal Skull of F.A. Mitchell-Hedges is also stolen. 

Reading some of Christopher Lees Obituaries after yesterday I find myself thinking about real people who would make for interesting pulp heroes.
 
In lee's case RAF intelligence officer seconded to the SAS (possibly one of the inspirations for James bond) , expert fencer, multilingual, professional actor and Stuntman direct descendant of Charlemagne.

PAWNS
 
It was 1973 and most of the original chessmen where in jail or otherwise removed from play. The heroes of the time where confident in their victory , until the new chessmens pawns swooped down from the sky on high tech flying discs. They ransacked jewllery and other high end stores in the cities most wealthy area with rapid smash and grab tactics.
 
The PAWNS wore a simple one piece jump suit in white with a ball like motorcycle helmet with a white visor that completely obscured their faces. Each was armed with potent but short ranged blaster rod.
 
Of course this was all a distraction and while the heroes battled the PAWNS the chess men where busy with a much more lucrative crime.
 
The PAWNS that where captured where all low grade criminals well k own to the police. Despite intense interrogation and offers of immunity they where unable to help the authorities with information on the identities of the Chessmen.
 
any attempt to remove the helmet resulted in them releasing a cloud of gas that caused amnesia making the pawn forget the last few days.
 
Many claimed to have been mind controlled but that may have just been them attempting to build a defence.
 
 
The rest of their gear self destructed or disappeared before the local heroes and authorities could analyse it.
 
There was a suggestion that one of the PAWNS was actually the leader but because of their interchangeablity no one could be sure.

Hel-Striker
 
Sigrid sally Gunderson was  pretty normal minnesotan 7th grader until her father was killed in a tragic hunting accident mauled by a bear that's when she started to see the scary Viking her mom sent her to a child psychologist and eventually she stopped seeing the Viking. 
 
only she didn't she just accepted the truth...
 
Gunder Blood-bather was a viking raider sometime around 780 and perhaps one of the most feared and dangerous of his age a legendary berserker famed for his berserk fury and the huge Bronze battle axe he had stolen from an ancient barrow. he and his crew ravaged sites across the english coast . eventually he and his crew attacked a remote monastery. only it was much more heavily defended than they expected each of the brothers seemed to be a retired warriors the fight was brutal but eventually the reached the monks final redoubt a mighty vault with a huge iron door inlaid with silver crosses and inscribed with latin text.  
 
The monks fought to the last man and Gunder knew that behind that huge door must be a great treasure indeed and with his powerful bronze axe he split  the stout iron chains and thick bars that held the door closed.
 
his men grasped the huge iron rings and stared to pull it open but as they did the door was forced open from the other side and a seemingly endless horde of terrifying monstrous beasts burst forth gunder and his crew fought bravely but they where just men and these where demons. they fought like vikings should but already weakened by the monks and out numbered 200 to one they stood no chance the tide of hell beast washed over them Gunder was the last to fall his berserker fury and magic axe letting him account for dozens of the monsters he died atop a pile of corpses....
 
and found himself watching the horde stream from the vault as if through thick fog watching as the valkyries rode down and plucked his fallen crew from amongst the corpses and carried them to Valhalla but they did not take Gunder the fog closed in hiding the carnage of the vault and gunder was alone in that silent fog filled void and then two ravens descended and suddenly there was a huge man standing in the mist the figure turned the two ravens perched atop his powerful warriors shoulders a golden spear in his hands he faced Gunder .
 
Gunder dropped to his knees Knowing he looked upon non other than Odin the all father the huge man looked down at Gunder with one single piercing eye and spoke with a voice like crashing waves in a winter storm Gunder Blood bather Gunder Pact Breaker Gunder Tomb defiler and Gunder Hel bound . you have freed things which where never meant to be allowed to roam the world you have broken an ancient trust and you and all of your line will never enter the halls of asgard until you have restored that which you have sundered.
 
From this day forth you will walk this world as a shade to aide the eldest of your blood in destroying the evil you have unleashed on the world.
 
But All father gunder exclaimed my eldest son is only just a man how can he hope to stand against those creatures?
 
I will Give him your axe it is a great and powerful weapon forged long ago it will protect him and allow him to defeat the demons you freed and i will allow him access to the Biforst so that he can journey swiftly to any place in midgard to seek and destroy this pestilence you have unleashed.
 
and with that Odin vanished into the mists. 
 
Gunder watched in amazement as the mists faded away and he found him self standing beside his eldest son as he worked on their farm and his axe fell through a rip in the sky to land at his sons feet. the moment his son gripped the axe he could see Gunder and Gunder explained the Curse
 
and so it was down 1200 years until his line depleted by the predations of the demons and there human servants the last male heir died his mutilated body was found in the forests far from his home and it was considered a bear attack but the truth was just as so many generations before him had Bjorn Gunderson had died fighting a demon and as he died his axe passed to the last of the Line 12 year old Sally gunderson.
 
Now Sally must hunt Demons because they are surely hunting her fortunately Hel-Striker the Ancestral axe is a potent weapon. Despite being almost as tall as she is she is able to swing it as if it weighed nothing but it strikes as if wielded by ten men. the blade is impossibly sharp so sharp it can cut between worlds allowing Sigrid to travel via the bifrost bridge to any point on midgard and even to leave the axe there until needed it will fall from a rainbow coloured gash in the sky into her hands when called. the ancient magic of the axe also protects her making her tougher and more resilient than a normal person and offering considerable protection from the malign magics of the forces of darkness.
 
Gunder watches over and tries to protect her as best he can he has 1200 years of watching his descendants train in every type of combat with the greatest masters of their age and knows techniques for hunting demons and other secrets of the hidden world. in the most extreme circumstances he can also posses sally joining with her and giving her enhanced strength as well as berserker rage and power.
 
The family have hunted down and banished most of the demons freed from teh great vault but the three most powerful remain at large and they have used human servants to summon more footsoldiers for their war Sally and her mother will not be safe until all three of these demon generals are finally defeated,
 
 
 
Sally wanted to be known as Sparkle princess badass or rainbow warrior awesome but to those who battle the minions of Hel her line has always been known as The HEL-STRIKER

Musketeer
 
He wears the uniform of a member of the King's Musketeers. He is an expert fencer and a good shot. He responds to the names of Athos and Aramis but is usually just called The Musketeer. He speaks French, English, German and Italian but may know other languages. He is a gentleman and dresses both finely and with taste. He is the team's martial artist and adventurer. His sword, rapier and guns are not subject to telekinesis or magnetism which infuriates those who try to use those against him. He has no mask but sports a fetching mustache and beard. He also wears a hat and will duel usually for France but very rarely himself. Where a woman's honour has to be avenged or defended there you will find him.
For reasons unknown telepathy will not reveal his real identity or upbringing nor can Mind Control. He cannot also be made to attack the defenceless or innocent via mind control.
Despite the anachronism of his appearance he can use modern vehicles like helicopters, cars and lorries but he is an expert horseman.

OK just watched a very interesting instalment of forgotten weapons on the Pancor Jack Hammer a weapon well known in video games and a lot of role-playing games I didn't realise that they never entered production. so you get to see the only example and the iconic look is of a early machining prototype not a  finished article.
 

speaking of the Welrod i thought i posted this a while ago but didn't the Brügger & Thomet VP-9 a 9mm pistol designed for veterinarians for silently and humanely putting down animals.

That's all she would have been if terrorists hadn't attacked her fashion week show to get at the wife of a prominent foreign diplomat.
 
As she exloded from her seat Mille's body stretched and distorted she was a blur of fluid twisting limbs bouncing around the room striking the confused terrorists.
 
Suddenly she was international news bringing new meaning to the term "SUPER" model.
 
She revealed that she got her powers as a teenager but hadn't wanted to become a super hero but after the action at her show she loved the action and would become a member of the Garde.
 
Except all of that was lies Amélie is just the latest identity of a being discovered by the French government in a secret Nazi lab under Paris. An amorphous blob of protoplasm in a glass tank largely ignored by the research team until it started to mimic their faces.
 
Eventually the researchers where able to communicate with the blob realising it was like a baby the government constructed a secret nursery facility.
 
 
Amélie was raised by the research team but two married scientists who could not have children truly became her parents eventually after several years of research and training Amelia took on a human form and from then on was raised as a normal little girl.
 
Over the next few years Amélie grew up as a normal little girl She showed above average intelligence eventually by the time she was in her teens the government decided to cash in on their investment.
 
Amélie was recruited by The Service de Documentation Extérieure et de Contre-Espionnage France's external intelligence agency taking on a new identity as a model she travelled the world every few years she would take on a new identity. For the next 50 years she was one of France's top spies throughout the cold war and after.
 
Eventually she grew tired of the grey world of espionage. She tried to drop out but needed An opportunity when the attack on her fashion show happened she took advantage. And now she has left the espionage world to join the Garde.
 
In public Amélie only uses her physical abilities stretching and contorting her body in a complicated chaotic fighting style of her own creation.
 
In secret though she uses her full abilities changing faces and clothing at will. She can mimic almost anyone pass through any barrier that is not completely airtight.

She has years of experience as a spy She has also developed high end skills in martial arts, shooter and security systems.
 
As a fashion designer she is constantly changing her costume but she likes a variety of swirly amporphous patterns usually on lycra like sports wear but not always.
