  1. Re: Help Me Populate A Creepy Hotel The Mime. He's a mime. All the damn time. He gets stuck behind the invisible elevator door, fights his way down the hall through terrible winds, pulls approaching people towards him on an invisible string, etc. He wears the white face paint, the goofy mime getup, the works. He does not speak to anyone else. At all. He will take (and maybe administer) a ferocious beating silently. From his room, muffled arguments can always be heard raging, day or night, as long as he's in there. No one else is known to be in there while these arguments are taking place, although more than one voice can clearly be heard, just not understood. It might not be English. But it might be English, if only the PCs could hear it a little better (which they can't).
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Musings James Joyce wrote some love letters to his wife once. He was a very, very, very dirty man.
  3. Re: Musings on Random Musings Consider a Black Russian Terrier.
  4. Re: Musings on Random Musings Highway 61 Revisited is one of his very best albums. Desolation Row is without a doubt one oef my favorite songs (top 3, easily). Blood on the Tracks is a "must have." MUST. I had a great CD player with a "delete" option by which I never had to hear Lily Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts ever again. I sure miss that thing.
  5. Re: Musings on Random Musings And you would be a world-class heel. And you'd have a girlfriend who could be seduced away by a rank amateur. Who the hell wants that? But ... if you say "How 'bout me?" and she says "OK!" then I think all is OK. I think staying in the friend slot just so you can hope for more is dishonest and cheap and fundamentally unsatisfying.
  6. Re: Musings on Random Musings BF is nothing major. Nineteen is an invitation to drama unrivaled by Shakespeare. If she likes you and ditches him, you'll what? Tell her to go away? Shah, right, as we used to say. I'd ride the monkey that flew from my *** over to Scandinavia just to knock some sense into you. If the bluebird of happiness poops on you, do not wipe it off too quickly.
  7. Re: Musings on Random Musings You call that "Lost?" Winning isn't everything... L. Marcus - if you are married, run like hell from one of them. If you are not, but she is, run like hell from her. If neither of you are, and she's not ... Idonno ... diseased? Underage? Transexual? A Hyena? Then I don't see a problem.
  8. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Galactic, Mercamon I'll be seeing them live tonight at Higher Ground in Burlington. Yippee!!
  9. Re: Musings on Random Musings One take on this challenge Sadly, no "translate this page" button is available to turn everything into bork-bork-bork.
  10. Re: Musings on Random Musings I was wondering why you ran so far away, all night and day.
  11. Re: Musings on Random Musings Heck no. Divarces can take years in the US. A most inefficient system.
  12. Re: Take your time What if you screw it up and find the wrong mind? "Got him!" "Oh. Sorry." (I agree pretty much entirely with your complaint, but ... eh?)
  13. Re: Musings on Random Musings Of course. I don't know the meaning of the word "defeat." I know "Concessions," "Bargaining," "Conditional Surrender," "Strategic Withdrawal," and "Running like hell." But not Defeat.
  14. Re: Good News For Time Travelers! I think that pesky little "law" of thermodynamics may be less accurate than you appear to believe. I have fun imagining all the innappropriately dressed time travelers lost in upstate New York looking in vain for Max Yasger's Farm. I wonder if some of them were the one's watching the battle of Gettysburg. I wonder how many senses of Deja vu have been due to proximity to two time waves overlapping.
  15. Re: Good News For Time Travelers! Yeah. That's f-ing brilliant.
  16. Re: Musings on Random Musings I'm still getting mugged - I mean, divorced - right now. Real recent. Yeah, I was kind of proud of the little traitor. It took guts.
  17. Re: Musings on Random Musings If it is required that you be a doormat in order for things to be amicable, I suggest that amity is overrated. If she won't be kind and fair after kicking you to the curb (lets face it, you're on the curb here) then to hell with amicability. Someone who would treat you that badly deserves no kindness from you. Keep things friendly and cordial if at all possible, but just because you married her doesn't give her the right to step on you. But yes, *sigh*. It is very sad to see that something that started out with such bright promise can turn so ugly (I speak from embittered and recent experience).
  18. Re: A Thread for Random Musings So ameliana asked her dad to burn her a disc of the music he has on his computer - moldy oldies, really: Big Bopper, Bill Haley & the Comets, etc. He burned her a disc of the music her sister had left on his computer. She was expecting "Chantilly Lace." She got "Stan.":nonp:
