  1. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I have not, do not, can not, and will not ever give a tinkers damn who the president of the NGD is to the extent that has been prevalent in some circle[jerk]s.
  2. Re: PBEM ad: "After the Burn..." (Post Apocolypse Hero) You could modify it a little - include a goal for the campaign so we can know more about what characters to create. The requirements for a character travelling through the urban wastes are somewhat different than the requirements for a character hired to go into the contaminated zone around TMI to fetch God knows what. A group of post-apoc psychics working for the state would have very diffferent adventures than a group of cybered out bodyguards. Etc. It's a great world you've created - tell us which slice of it to occupy, and I think you might get more takers.
  3. Re: PBEM ad: "After the Burn..." (Post Apocolypse Hero) Boy that thing must have sucked BAD...

    Psychic Wars

Re: Psychic Wars Woo-Hoo! One Oldmanship! I tend to think of it as song three, side A, from the album. Got it on Vinyl, baby. My first album.
  5. Re: PBEM ad: "After the Burn..." (Post Apocolypse Hero) Sent you a character. I hope it is a good start.
  6. Re: PBEM ad: "After the Burn..." (Post Apocolypse Hero) nexus, I'm working on a character - please stop me if you're full up.
  7. Re: Zombie Hero: Pt 1 The Oakdale Galleria AND? this is good stuff, man. And I'm so running a campaign like this someday.
  8. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Twice now Ben has locked threads right after I've posted something scathing... A pattern, perhaps?
  9. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat said the third guy who didn't post a new topic.
  10. Re: Musings on Random Musings I figured you'd have to be smart enough to see past my faults.
  11. Re: A Thread for Random Musings According to the wunderlic assessment test, I'm smarter than 99.2% of the population. One person in 125 is smarter than I. I hate him or her.
  12. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... I've never been around so many people who appreciate Gibson. I knew I liked you guys.
  13. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... Just finished these two recently. Yumpin' yiminy is King's head a creepy place. Some of it was great, some of it was good, a little of it was terrible. Bachman is the name King uses when he writes things that are too nasty for him to be comfortable writing about, I think.
  14. Re: what non-fiction books have you read? please rate it ... The Golden Ratio. It's all about phi, the most important irrational number. A great deal of time and effort is spent debunking: a) various ancient societies' understanding and/or application of the golden ratio; the alleged aesthetic perfection of the golden ratio; c) various artists' applications of the golden ratio within their works; c) etc., etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum. The math is fascinating. The explanations of the natural occurences of phi are mind boggling. The proofs are accessible to someone who understands and enjoys mathematics but not calculus (me). I would heartily recommend it to anyone who is not afraid of a little algebra, a little history, a little philosophy, and a little critical thinking. It does get a little long winded, especially for such a short book, and has made it's way into my car, where I read it while I wait for whatever I might be waiting for.
  15. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Howard Levy, Concerto for diatonic harmonica and orchestra. Amazing.
  16. Re: The cranky thread That thing I was talking about in #1988? I did it. I'm just a man.
  17. Re: The cranky thread I truly hate it when I get a brilliant but cruel idea and then I have to spend time and energy NOT being mean to someone who really really could use a little unkind harassment in their life. Because actually NO ONE needs anyu more unkind harassment. But golly I want to so bad sometimes.
  18. Re: Musings on Random Musings So you're like his marital aide, too?
  19. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I've discovered the unfathomable joy of using positive rep to deliver an insult. The recipient is left with the hollow joy of increased rep, and the hollow unhappiness of being called an asshat in a private venue.
  20. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I'm listening to William Shatner's "Has Been" online. It's oddly compelling. So help me it's oddly compelling. It isn't great. Parts aren't even good. But it is oddly compelling. http://www.shatnerhasbeen.com
  21. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I HATE it when I think of something so perfectly cutting, so wonderfully mean spirited, so perfectly horrid, that even I won't post it. God that would have been good. I'll save it for some other time when it's more deserved.
  22. Re: Answers & Questions Q: How did Dracula wind up with minor sun scorching AND complicated orthidonture? A: Score the fillets with a sharp, thin bladed knife, cutting to the bone behind the head and straight down the center, tail to head.
