  1. Re: [Campaign] Apocalypse Champions I can't believe you guys actually fought Medusa....
  2. Re: Can a Follower be bought with a Focus Limitation? Some people think it's far too much of cost break, the 1/5 for a follower or computer, then adding [subtracting as the case may be] the Focus limitation makes it a very sweet deal. On the Computer without focus issue, is it too much of a cost break? It's legal to buy powers, skills and talents through the computer, and so long as you have UBO/UAA you can affect the main character with it.... So now your gadgeteer or mage or whatever can get close to 100pts worth of stuff for the cost of 20pts.
  3. Re: What bizarre rules issues have you encountered? Maybe not so odd, but one I forget a lot of the time... Resistant Defenses apply to the BODY done by a Killing Attack. The STUN from a Killing Attack is defended against by your total PD [so long as you have some rPD to stop some of the Body damage.].
  4. Re: What I learn playing a GM. Always try to switch focus to a different character on a cliffhanger of some sort. GM: Ok Player 1, you walk into the front door of the darkened abandoned farm house, it is deathly quiet, not even a cricket... You can smell dust all around, but there are muddy footprints on the floor... what do you do? Player 1: I'll attempt to track the footprints. GM: Ok, without problem you follow the muddy prints to a door that is slightly ajar, it's black inside, from your vantage you don't see much, but it seems that it may be a stairwell into the basement... Player1: I use stealth to walk up and attempt a perception roll... GM: Excellent, make the rolls for me. Player 1: Made stealth by 1, made Per by 3. GM: Good. You creep closer to the door... looking inside you swear you see some movement in the darkness. As you get to the threshold the floor creaks. The movement stops.... GM: Player 2, you're moving up to the back stairs, there's little to no light, what are you doing?
  5. Re: Can a Follower be bought with a Focus Limitation? But would you allow a computer as a focus? They are built this way by Steve on more than one occasion.... [Not to say you can't disagree, just stating that it has precedent.] And what would a comp[uter be like without the focus limitation?
  6. Re: Attacks that can be avoided by a roll. Thank Presti for this one.... lol, posted as I was searching for it Robyn!

  8. Re: VIDELECTRIX presents the STRONG BAD SOUND TRACK What, no 'Geddup Noise'???
  9. Re: Character Curveballs We call this style "ThreeStoojutsu" - I think it just rolls off the tongue better
  10. Re: Duke (art and characters) he new ones I like carlitadrega the best. Seems to have a great sense of character about her.
  11. Re: Duke (art and characters) Nice work Dave.
  12. Re: What I learned playing a blaster!
  13. Re: AP/RP power templates I found this interesting, and I belive there is a threa around here somewhere with this link and other options...
  14. Re: What I learned playing a blaster! No Range Modifier is a very nice advantage.
  15. Re: What I learned playing a blaster! Use this advice and get yourself some ranged Martial Arts. Extra DCs couldn't hurt either - sure they don't add to your range, but they don't cost END either.
  16. Re: Vote For Your Favorite Superhero She just had way cooler powers too.
  17. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver Wow, what a fight. Good thing I drew that yellow chit again! Though the battle is not quite over, and we need to get that key out of there ASAP... and probably question the Dragon Lord guy about it. I would think he's probably ok with us having it, being that we defeated Hung to get it, and he couldn't... Hopefully he's an honourable guy. Overall way to go guys, a great session, a great fight, heck even Lucky stayed conscious!!! [now we just gotta get you guys to buy TEAMWORK!]
  18. Re: Namedropping Conrad Moffat Black, Baron Black of Crossharbour PC (Can.), OC, KCSG, (born 25 August 1944, in Montreal, Quebec), is a British biographer, financier and newspaper magnate. He is married to Barbara Amiel, a well-known conservative columnist. Black was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, but renounced his citizenship in 2001 in order to become a life peer in the British House of Lords. He subsequently described his former Canadian citizenship as "an impediment to my progress in another more amenable jurisdiction." With the growth of his business and legal difficulties, since 2003 he is believed to have spent much of his time at his Bridle Path mansion in Toronto, Ontario. It was reported in the National Post on 18 November 2005, that Black had recently applied for permanent residency status in Canada. If convicted of the serious crimes of which he is accused in the United States, Black might be unable to permanently return to his native Canada, since Canada rarely allows entry to non-citizen felons. Justification: AS if you need any more justification than a name like that... look here... There is much controversy concerning his businesses and business practices. He was one of the greatest meda moguls of our times, in 1990 his companies ran over 400 newspaper titles in North America. Motivation: Greed. Couple that with basically being forced to renounce your citizenship and being enemies with the Prime Minister at the time Jean Chretien and you've got a great villian for Canada.
  19. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist 5ER pg257 Impressive As All Get Out: Does Knockback for Presence Attacks of up to 20D6. Total Cost 25 Points.
  20. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist Does Knockback (+1/4) on your PRE is a great tool.
  21. Re: Musings on Random Musings You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to James Gillen again.
  22. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist Agreed, but on the other hand of it, I see each maneuver as the effect, not the SFX, so as we see in some write ups, a martial strike can be anything from a straighforward elbow to a knee strike to whatever... Be like Jackie! Just because it says 'Sacrifice Throw' on your sheet doesn't mean it has to represent the same takedown each time, description of combat maneuvers makes combat twice as fun, and is the MA's bread and butter.

  24. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist Superleap, it's not just for Bricks.
  25. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist All archtypes are equal, but Martial Artists are MORE equal.
