  1. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Purple Haze - Covered by The Cure *grooves*
  2. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Roter Baron again.
  3. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist Really? I didn't bother with Find Weakness, I have mutliple ways of reaching campaign maximum Damage already - I don't need to find your weakness, I just need to hit you. Just because everyone expects you to have Find Weakness doesn't mean you have to have it.
  4. Re: What I learned playing a blaster! Multipower was practically designed for your concept, make sure to use it to the utmost.
  5. Re: One-Trick Pony Campaigns Cyclops was also a master of Judo. He could kick some serious butt when the script allowed. Of course, once Storm lost her powers, she fought him and handed him his own butt, but that's another story...
  6. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist UMA Nuff said.
  7. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist Super Chi powers are not only super cool, they are super versatile! Seriously. There are a ton of powers you can use to make 'in concept' abilities. A small VPP, say up to 25pts, will allow you to pull off some amazing feats that will leave your teammates going... "oh man, I wish I could do that..."
  8. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist Take advantage of advantaged HAs! Having AoE Selective, or Autofire, or Affects Desolid, or Penetrating, or NND, or Indirect, or whatever else you can come up with, makes you the most versatile damage dealing concept on the planet. Those Martial Arts DCs add to all of your HAs, so get some in a multipower and go to town.
  9. Re: Global Teleportation: How? Um, yeah... extra DEX or SPD would allow a character to react quicker, not any sense. My point is that I can already see FAR enough [which is all that megascale adds to, the distance I can see] to avoid running into anything, but at super speeds my need would be to process that visual information more quickly, hence the rapid adder. Being able to see across the Atlantic is not going to help me avoid traffic in lower Manhattan. And yes I realize that I differ from the 'book' [5ER p264] on this, but IMO that ruling makes no sense [no pun intended]. Well at least we agree on one thing, Clairsentience is a viable option, as I agreed to in my first post to this thread.
  10. Re: Global Teleportation: How? If we were talking about running or flight, the 'rapid' adder would be all that's required, no? It's not that the character really needs to see any farther, just that he needs to be able to see it faster. Can we not apply the same type of logic here somehow? A 'Teleport Senses' adder onto Teleport? Personally I would just buy the Clairsentience, as it's a cool SFX to teleport your senses around, and it's a useful power in many situations.

  12. Re: The thing's I've learned playing a Brick... Damage Reduction is your friend. Possibly your best friend, but at the very least a friend you would enjoy hanging out with and getting some ice cream with.* *assuming said friend isn't lactose intolerant.
  13. Re: Global Teleportation: How? Too true. Repped.
  14. Re: The thing's I've learned playing a Brick... Reduced END on STR is a very good thing.
  15. Re: The thing's I've learned playing a Brick... Just because you can take a hit, doesn't mean you should.
  16. Re: The things I've learned playing a Speedster... Terrain is your friend. Or enemy, depending.
  17. Re: 'Possess the recently Dead' thought.... You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Dust Raven again. I must say, you're good.
  18. Re: Musings on Random Musings re: your avatar... In grade 11 History, on the first day of class, my teacher asked us if anyone knew what Hitler did... I threw up my hand and was picked to answer... "He ruined that moustache for everybody, sir."
  19. Re: Global Teleportation: How? USPD II uses Clairsentience for this build. Modifiers for -Only to find teleportation locations... The key I think is the addition of targeting to the Clairsentience.
  20. Re: Leadership Powers Not positive, but I think selective should apply, it is after all an Area Effect.
  21. Re: Wolfs, Dogs And Their Noses I just remembered the thing about dogs and how they'll like your hand for minutes if there's just a smidgen of something tasty on it... Or even just for the salt on your skin from your sweat... Perhaps you are right on target with this thought... coupled with the biological 'I can't taste maggots, so this carrion is oh so tasty' - due of course to lacking taste buds in those areas [or those specific 'Detects' in game terms]... so perhaps their sense of taste is comparable to their sense of smell, but only for certain tastes and not others... food for thought anyhow.
  22. Re: Musings on Random Musings I remember reading some interesting things about this... The average man in Texas received the equivalent of approx 3 chest x-rays worth of radiation from Chernobyl. Chernobyl is named after the Ukrainian word for mugwort [chornobyl], which is the name for the plant known as common wormwood. A star called Wormwood falls onto the Earth poisoning the freshwater sources such as streams and rivers (This is believed to be a comet that falls but desintegrates before striking; the remains of which fall on the rivers and lakes, thus poisoning the waters. Thousands will die from drinking it. [source Wikipedia] Not that I'm saying the end is nigh, but it's some interesting thought at least.
  23. Re: 'Possess the recently Dead' thought.... It fills the niche, rather clumsily IMO, of taking over another character's body. Not to say the power build isn't very well thought out and such, just that it's so clunky that it really should be it's own single power with it's own rules.
  24. Re: 'Possess the recently Dead' thought.... Exactly the way I was looking at it. This is not a being we're talking about here - there is no need to think of it as a target of the powers, which is primarily the way one looks at this build [i.e. Bodyjacking]. Unbreakable is a very interesting way of looking at it too, that way the corpse can't really be dispelled. Kudos. I thought of that originally, but then decided I liked the feel of it better as a limitation on the naked 'Affects Phsyical World' Advantage because it is really a limitation/side effect of using the advantage.
