  1. Re: What Skills/Perks/Talents would make sense for a God? Thanks for the suggestion- I had already put in the Chariot as vehicle and goats as seperate followers. I went non UT and gave him linguist and a number of language skills. I am not sure how many places he would have been worshipped though... hmmm. Something to think about- thanks again.
  2. Of the pantheon variety, of course. Statting out a Thor for my own campaign world and not based on the Marvel version but I was wondering what perks/skills/talents you all would throw on ther- he's already huge so points are no real factor/consideration. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
  3. Re: Blobby, the Rubber Boy/Girl Just a quibble, but I would either replace Grab and Block with Full Wrap: 1/2 phase OCV-1 DCV-1 Grab 4 limbs (5) or just add the maneuver and take the points out somewhere else. Why? Because you have another maneuver dependant on a grab and the only grab that you have does not thematically lend itself to the other effect (sqeezing one arm) But otherwise interesting- just recently finished a character similar in idea to this.

  6. Re: Help with naming a spider themed character. Is it a spider or an internet message board poster?
  7. Re: Help with naming a spider themed character. The Arachnid? Ananansi(spelling?)? Man-Spider? eh, I guess I got nothing...
  8. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Offspring- Original Prankster.

    About PRIMUS

Re: About PRIMUS Just something that I was kicing around in my mind last week and got down onto paper before I got bored with it, a set of package deals for PRIMUS- a racial-type package for Silver Avenger level Cyberline enhancement, a General agent package as well as Avenger skill package. Silver Avenger Cyberline Enhancement: +20 Str (20) +8 Dex (24) +8 Con (16) +5 Body (10) +4 Com (2) +12 Pd total (8)- includes bonus from Str +12 Ed total (10)- includes bonus from Con +2 Spd total (12)- includes bonus from Dex +7 Rec total (2)- includes binus from Str and Con +20 End total (2)- includes bonus from Con +25 Stun total (6)- includes binus from Str and Con +3 to Sight group perception rolls (9) +3" Running (6) 1/2 End cost on Str 35-40 (9-10) 8rPd/8rEd Damage Resistance (8) 10 points power defense (10) Total starting cost of Cyberline enhancement: 154/155 points Disadvantages: x1 1/2 Stun from Chemicals and poisons (uncommon) (5) x1 1/2 Effect from Adjustment or mental powers based on chemicals/drugs (uncommon group) (10) Distinctive Feature: Induced Mutations (Not Concealable, special tech or senses, Strong reaction) (10) End cost of Cyberline Enhancement: 129/130 points Basic PRIMUS agent Training: Perk: National Police Powers (3) Perk: Concealed Carry Permit (2) Membership: PRIMUS-Agent (3) Security Clearance Lvl 3 (3) Scholar (3) CK: City of Assignment 11 (2) KS: Criminal Law 11 (1) KS: Supers' World 11 (1) KS: PRIMUS 11 (1) Language- One additional at Fluent Conversation level (2) 15pts worth of Martial Arts (generally Commando Training) (15) Paramedics 11 (2) PS: PRIMUS Agent 11 (2) Teamwork 11 (2) WF: Small arms and Common Melee Weapons (4) +2 OCV with tight group of attacks (6) Starting cost of Basic PRIMUS agent training: 52 points Disadvantages: Subject to Orders (20) Distinctive Features: PRIMUS uniform (easy conceal/recognized) (5) Reputation: PRIMUS agent 11 (10) End cost of Basic PRIMUS agent training: 17 points Silver Avenger Training: Add to the Basic Agent package Acrobatics (Dex/5+9) (3) Breakfall (Dex/5+9) (3) Tactics (Int/5+9) (3) 1 overall combat skill level (8) Total cost of Avenger Training: 17pts. Total cost to be Silver Avenger: 129/130+17+17= 163/164 points This seem reasonable to all of you?
  10. Re: Dr. Sebastian Poe Just something that jumped out at me was the pricing for these skills, where did those numbers come from? With the 25 Int the character has, the skills should look more like this: 20 +4 with Mental Combat 3 Interrogation 14- 3 Bureaucratics 14- 6 PS: Psychiatrist 18- 3 SS: Psychiatry 14- (Would be a science skill) 4 SS: Neuroscience 15- (Ditto) 3 KS: Psionic Theory 14- 3 Language: French (completely fluent with accent; literate) 4 Language: Arabic (completely fluent with accent; literate) 2 Language: Latin (fluent conversation; literate) Literacy should only cost extra if the language uses a non-letter based form of script, such as Arabic, Chinese, or japanese. Also, using the optional language families would further reduce French and Latin cost by 1 point each, and Arabic would cost you one point more. Skills cost: (As Written) 51 points/50 points using the language families However, if he is a Psychiatrist, it would make sense to add the following skills, to reflect his medical training (as Psychiatrists are licensed doctors): 2 SS: Biology 11 2 SS: Chemistry 11 3 SS: Medecine 14 And, to save more points, add Scientist Skill modifier and now it looks like this: 20 +4 with Mental Combat 3 Scientist 3 Interrogation 14- 3 Bureaucratics 14- 6 PS: Psychiatrist 18- 1 SS: Biology 11 1 SS: Chemistry 11 2 SS: Medecine 14 2 SS: Psychiatry 14- (Would be a science skill) 3 SS: Neuroscience 15- (Ditto) 3 KS: Psionic Theory 14- 3 Language: French (completely fluent with accent; literate) 4 Language: Arabic (completely fluent with accent; literate) 2 Language: Latin (fluent conversation; literate) Cost for skills: 56 points, or 55 points with the language families Sorry to nitpick, I get stuck on little things and need to work through them or they drive me nuts.
  11. Re: Morning star Yes, stat it up and show us how how you would spend those points instead!
  12. Re: City of Heroes/Villains Mission ARCs I got killed on this mish- I really don't lke mishs where you have to drag multiple useless tools back to the start, especially when bad guys spawn where you've already cleared. Just not my idea of a fun time, sorry.
  13. Re: Super Transportation Yeah but there's something to be said for style don't you think?
  14. Re: Super Transportation What, no Herkimer Battle Jitney? Or the '78 Corvette stretch limo?
  15. Re: Demolition Dunphy: Where's the Love?! I created a Teen Champs character for inclusion at the Markinson Academy that was his niece that idolized him and called herself Demolition Girl.
  16. Re: Demolition Dunphy: Where's the Love?! Well, different process but same creator: Armadillo was transformed into his form by Karl Malus, the guy that ran Power Broker's empowering process and Armadillo was 25 tons press according to OHOTMU Deluxe ed 1985.
  17. Re: What would be your take on She-Grond? Remind me to never go drinking with you...
  18. Re: Multipower Gadgeteer One suggestion you might want to consider is to make the Reserve twice as much as the average power so that even with ultra slots the character can use at least two devices at the same time. This would also allow for the rare larger point gadget, highly limited of coursse, or you could impose a limtation on the MP that no one power can be more than half the MPs total Active Points.
  19. Re: Ideas for powers for child heroes... Well Baby X is bou- three boys and one girl, Little Miss. Actually the real Kid Question is entertaining- he keeps asking questions and I answer the ones that I can, so he asks more questions and I get into trouble for 'encouraging' him, but I explained to his mother that when his questions do get answered, he'll probably remember the answers and get little bit of knowledge out of it, which she admitted is a plus. For Baby X right now I'm really liking the idea of broadcast empathy and some sort of effect that makes him a boon to whever is carrying him instead of a hindrance, most likely Kid Question at this point.
  20. Re: Demolition Dunphy: Where's the Love?! Eh, I may not have liked the original DD outfit, but I actually kinda like D-Man's outfit, it makes more sense for a stand-up brick type character than a stealthy ninja-type. I think that the costume works for him, but YMMV (and apparently does).
  21. Re: Ideas for powers for child heroes... Thanks for the ideas everyone- some neat ideas in here that I'll have to thnk over- wcw, it's funny you mentioned the MA aspect for Little Miss because I was at the kids house today and created a CoH based on her called Little Miss Diva on the Victory server- her catch phrase is "I know Kung Fu!!" and she does- mad her as scrapper with MA/Invuln. And your Baby X idea is neat too- was thinking about using him as a speed booster for whoever is carrying him but the broadcast empath idea is neat too. Thanks!
  22. Re: Ideas for powers for child heroes... Actually, after watching the two boys whipping a koosh ball at each other, the superball as weapon might not be too off. The only thing that I could think of possibly for Baby X is that he can talk and has the cognitive development of a teenager or young adult at 9 days of age, but that might be REAL hard to explain.
  23. Re: Ideas for powers for child heroes... See, this was why I asked- I wasn't really sure about gadgets or anything but I liked the idea of super intelligence and maybe something else related to questions/answers. Neat idea, kind of a child cross between Batman and a conman?
  24. Hey, while at friend's house tonight for Easter, got the idea of making a comic for/about her and another friend's 4 kids(total), and even have names for the kids but not an ironclad idea of powers for them. Was hoping for some suggestions, so here's what I have so far: Hyperball- 9 years old and I was thinking superspeed or something to go with the Hyperball name. Kid Question- 8 year old with ADD who asks questions faster than I talk while cranked on coffee. Really not sure with this one- maybe Super Intelligence and gadgets? Little Miss- 5 year old diva. Was thinking maybe growth and shrinking powers- then she could be Little Miss/Big Miss. Baby X- The newborn, 9 days old now- was thinking he would just be a complication for the other kids for the first little while before he develops anything in the way of powers. Any ideas or suggestions? Oh, and thanks for any suggestions.
  25. Okay, so as not to threadjack Split's Cap America thread, I thought I'd start a new thread and ask a question that has always made me wonder: Why all the D-Man cracks and jokes? And not just here either, but all throughout the Marvel Universe- what makes him such a joke? He's superstrong, supertough, has studied wrestling with Ben Grimm and personal combat with Captain America, and adventured with Cap during his "Captain" phase- he was even the one who gave Cap the Captain unifoam that USAgent now disgraces by wearing, although not quite as much as he disgraced the Captain America uniform. Dunphy was one of the few clients of the Power Broker who refused to attack the Thing and Ms. Marvel and instead went through painful withdrawl from the addictive drugs the PB had hooked all his clients on; risked his life to save a bad guy and stop a Doomsday device at the same time, acted as a protector for Zerotown, been an unofficial Avenger, etc. So why can't the man catch some respect? With all the lame characters in the MU that are given the 'push' (intentional use of wrestline jargon there, why can't D-Man even get the basic respect that he both deserves and has earned?
