  1. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? The 100 STR TK is a candidate, IMHO. But if you go back to look at what I stated, saying "next two" denotes that there has already been at least one other posted. While her AoE powers are munchkinized, I never implied that all were, nor that those were her only munchkin stats.
  2. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Your misconception is getting in the way. Show me where I said "anyone with an AoE-radius, ranged attack is a munchkin." Here's a hint: I DIDN'T!. (Hmm, doesn't look quite as good as "AND I DID!" Dang contractions.) If you have the book and the willingness to read, check out Deadweight from Enemies of San Angelo, pg 38-9. He has gravity powers and guess what, one of them is a 50 STR TK AE 7" radius. (Personal immunity, no range.) He's not a munchkin build. Scratch your brain on that one.
  3. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Now's the time I'm going to Channel some Chuckg, so prepare for sarcasm and snippitiness: First, backwards would be Gravitar is powerful, Menton is both. It's pretty obvious to me you don't know what munchkin is.
  4. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Even though I put "Possibly. Hopefully," that the Crowns would win, you (apparently) weren't satisfied with that answer (or didn't understand it) and you brought up the Ultimates and said they "actually have decent movement." To which I responded with a and listed their Dex's, Speed, and movements, because I didn't see what you thought was decent compared to hers (only one has more combat than her 30"). To which I replied with the following about Eurostar (attacks that covered those weaknesses). So, if she *didn't* have her munchkin AoE 50 STR TK of 11" radius (or if it were of a smaller radius) and she didn't have her AoE Flight UAA (7" radius), then Eurostar would kill her. Now that I've gone through the entire song and dance for you "repeatedly", I'm not going to continue. If you can't understand it by now, you never will. Why am I not going to continue? Because Gandalf says, "Stop!"
  5. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Thanks, I learned it in the Army (along with KISS Operations: Keep It Simple Stupid). It's simply a phrase to help you remember something important.
  6. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Von D-man answered the meat of what I was going to state about Eurostar, so there's not much point in repeating that part.
  7. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Yes, I see I overlooked that (the dwindling dice on his attacks may have glossed my eyes over the RKA part), but the average Stun would be the same. Still, that 10d6 RKA is enough to vaporize the bricks I would be dropping in my tights. PS: Though the 5d6 RKA I put in the post was from his secondary power slot. So he has a 10d6 and 5d6 RKA.

  9. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Take it with a grain of salt. Proper planning prevents piss-poor performance.
  10. Re: How would you use Gravitar? You know, this sounds like the best plot seed for her. (NO innuendo pun intended!) This would almost make her a respectable NPC to me. I could see her as a woman scorned. Perhaps she shows up one day at Holocaust's alter ego's place of business (whatever that is; politics?) and just starts destroying the place. Her rage of screams are drowned out by buildings collapsing and vehicles being tossed about like footballs. Fortunately, Geoffrey Haganstone (Holocaust) happened to take the day off: he had a bad feeling. Later, Holocaust is spotted doing some crime when Gravitar shows up and tries to smack the living daylights out of him. Another mess of a fight as he barely escapes (she would probably be too enraged to use proper tactics). And sitting at home, laughing to himself is Menton who forewarned Holocaust and had actually, subtley "encouraged" the two of them to make the video and for Holocaust to show it. Just as a side distraction.

  12. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Eurostar: Fiacho: RKA 1d6 AP Autofire, 3d6 DEX Drain, Darkness to Sight Group 3" Durak: 70 STR Feuermacher: N/A Mentalla: 7d6 Ego Attack, 14d6 Mental Illusions, 14d6 Mind Control, 3d6 Ego Drain Scorpia: 4d6 RKA NND Does BODY, 1 1/2d6 HKA (w/Str) AP + 5d6 Stun Drain Ultrasonique: 9d6 Energy Blast AP, 15d6 Hearing Flash Gravitar won in essentially ONE PHASE against them. She doesn't need much to her defenses when she can do what, Dr. Destroyer, Menton, and probably Takofanes can't do: Defeat Eurostar in one attack. Yes, she's a munchkin build. If she had those additional defenses, she'd be the "ultimate munchkin" you implied I stated.
  13. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? She has an 8 ECV and a 25 EGO, so mind affecting mental powers aren't going to be that effective. For Ego blasts, she has a 30 Con and 60 Stun. You'll need a 9d6 Ego attack (Menton's is 8d6) to be able to Con Stun her on average. See below.* With 54 PD/ED defenses (30r) before a force wall, she doesn't really need it, does she? You'd need a 3d6 Armor Piercing Killing attack (or 1 successful FW) just to hope to wound her. And with her powers and flight, her opponent(s) probably won't be using many 1/2 phases trying to find that weak spot. *Because that's an awful lot she doesn't need. This reinforces the part that she's a munchkin. If she's a full non-combat move away, she needs just a 12- to hit the hex her opponent is in. And if she misses by one or two hexes? No big deal, is it? She'd have to miss by 12 hexes before her AoE 50 STR TK would actually miss.
  14. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Two. Sadly, this is true. Quite frankly, Gravitar is a munchkin build with a lame write-up. Her "normal" defenses are 24 PD/ 24 ED and with a 0 END Force Field she'll always be at 54/30 ®. No one else in CKC has a 54 Defense! Dr. D. has 40/40 (though 50%DR). If she uses her force wall, she's then 64/40 (D/r). Talk about cheesey! Her next two munchkin powers (which I seriously doubt any GM would allow a player to have) are the Flight UAA (AoE 7" radius!) and the 50 STR TK (AoE 11" radius!). Follow this up with a 60 STR TK +40 STR TK (for 100 STR TK) that she can use as a multiple power attack and very few could NPCs or PCs could survive this. Should someone start to hurt her, she has her 120" flee.
  15. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
  16. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? OK, I can see that, but it does depend on Firewing's interpretation of honorable/dishonorable. Her AoE TK and indirect EBs (the latter more than the former) could be seen as dishonorable to him.
  17. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Possibly. If Gravitar fights fairly (according to Firewing), then true, but if treachery, betrayal, or unfair combat tactics (his Enraged triggers) are used, he may feel the need to respond with his wrath. With his reputation of "supervillain of world-threatening power," there has to be a reason behind it. I think the last sentence in "Campaign Use" says it nicely: "He cares little how much destruction and death he causes, provided he gets a good fight."
  18. Re: Firewing vs. Gravitar? Gravitar has to win or it has to be "inconclusive," the same as with her fights with Eurostar. Why? Because if Gravitar lost, she'd be dead and then HERO would be without its lamest master villain.
  19. Re: From little plot seeds, mighty games do grow: Share you ideas! PSI-onara The moment has come for a great victory for PSI (either they have just taken over the government of Millennium City [or the PCs city], all but defeated Menton after he was weakened with a conflict involving the PCs, or something similar). Unfortunately for Psimon, others see this as new change of leadership and structe in PSI. Sebastian Poe has been released and wants revenge. He has covertly followed PSI for about a month and sees this triumph as his chance to strike. Coincidently, many others see the recent conquest as a time to keep the ball rolling, especially since they believe Psimon now has his guard down. Medusa and Hypnos want to eliminate Psimon (so Medusa will be in charge and Hypnos can have her for himslef). Mind Slayer wants Medusa out of the way so she can have Psimon for her own and uses this opportunity to do so. Menton has offered a brighter future for Lancer and a cure for Torment, so when the insurgency commences, they depart (or switch sides if PSI is taking advantage of Menton's weakened state). This whole spectacle is happening in front of the PCs, who have either been weakened by their fight with Menton or perhaps led to the "fight scene" by clues from Sebastian Poe. Will the PCs side with one side over another, or will they attack all mentalists involved?
