  1. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I suggest Rainbow Six. Er, maybe Seven.
  2. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... It seems there are many dysfunctional games going on. (I wish I was in a game, dysfunctional or not. )

  4. Re: Who are the greatest (?) super villains? Would you explain that sentence a bit more in depth?
  5. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... At the risk of detracting from the thread (which has happened too often recently).... So the PCs knew the cop was a villainous robot, but the robot was concerned about a puppy? Did the robot not know its cover was blown or was there some rationale to this?
  6. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? Hooyah! A former GM used to always have them in his campaigns. Before I joined the group, the PCs had a crossbow-weilding member named Sagittarius who just happened to (unintentionally) kill Zodiac's Sagittarius in a violent, efficient shot. Even though he had been a hero, Taurus decided to offer the PC Sagittarius the "open slot" for membership. The player basically rationalized that he'd not be able to live as a hero any more and accepted the offer. In a different campaign (one that I was in and before I knew of Zodiac), I had a character named Orion who was a demigod (son of Zeus and a mortal, go figure . He ended up meeting members of Zodiac piecemeal. Two that stick out are meeting Virgo (who he innocently offered to save her from the worry of future virgin sacrifices attempts) at a bar and then meeting Taurus in combat (team vs. team) to which he exclaimed "Brother?!" They had a slight conversation and agreed to reconvene the battle at a later date.
  7. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? Dr. Destroyer gone. Either killed or captured. Permanently. No more appearances, no more gradoise schemes that only happen in the background. Gone from the CU as an active character. I'd like to see Gravitar killed off by Eurostar, because she's a shallow character and Eurostar would make it happen. I'd also like to see PRE-FREd characters brought back into the CU. While I think the 5E update was needed the universe "reboot" pretty much eliminated all the characters I loved to use. (Well, you did ask what did I want to see.)

  9. Re: Who are the greatest (?) super villains? Well, since we're reviving this thread, I might as well as one I hadn't before: Foxbat! Why? Well, he's a villain, and he's super fun to have show up. He's just great!
  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I remembered one from back in high school, when we were gaming at a friend's house. I *think* we were playing D&D, but am not sure. Anyway, the two players of note are Chris, who is the stereotypical 98-pounds-when-soaking-wet weakling and Larry, who is the loveable 350 pound guy. Being teenage guys, we constantly rag on each other. Whatever the game it was, Chris had just been beaten. Somebody (me?): Chris, it looks like even in the game you're the bottom of the food chain. Chris: Oh yeah? Well, I may be the bottom of the food chain, but Larry ate the food chain!

  14. Re: Ravenswood Academy Yearbook Well, that's your opinion, of course. I personally prefer brunettes then red heads then blondes. To me, blondes are a dime a dozen and if they have dark eyes, it's even less attractive. "Afterburner" has a nice face, but nothing I'd brag about. For "Lyndsay," well she's a red head with long hair, she looks good in jeans and she actually looks more real (doesn't look air-brushed) than other pictures. Traits often ignored that "Lyndsay" has are the neck, her eyebrows are the same shade as her hair, and that she's not a bean pole. And while her chest is a nice "how do you do?", the fact that she doesn't wear a "look at me cleavage" shirt or "my pants are so low you can see my butt-crack and pubic hair" is a big plus. "Lyndsay" looks more approachable than "Afterburner," in my opinion. YMMV. To keep on topic (sorry 'bout that, guys) you're doing a great job Dr. A.
  15. Re: Concepts you wish your players would play When I first saw this, I thought it was on the "Quote of the Week" thread. Heh.
  16. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Again, these are all out of game, but they do reference gaming from my loving wife. I wasn't going to put them, but today's I thought everyone would enjoy. "All I hear is 'blah, blah, blah, stormtrooper. Blah, blah, blah, the force.' I don't know what you're talking about." "Dear, unless I specifically ask you a question about your game, I don't want you to tell me about it." And today's: "Come over here and watch this about widows of gamers." I think we should take Iraq and Iran and combine them into one country. Call it Irate. All the pissed-off people can live in one place and just get it over with. -Denis Leary

  18. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Don't be stupid Be a smarty Come and join the Nazi Party! I've never seen the movie, but I heard the song for it on Dr. Demento nearly 20 years ago. What was funnier is that a friend of mine lived 14 of his 16 years in Germany (first 2 were in Poland). He asked me "Kirby, what is this song?" When I answered him, he replied "They would never allow this in Germany." We couldn't help but laugh a little.

  24. Re: Ravenswood Academy Yearbook Now that's a great name. And when he's beat by a villain or another student in a fight they get their line: "Now that's what I call wasted Potential."
  25. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... OOC from player to GM (on HeroCentral) Gratz on the dating thing but I don't see why this should lessen your computer time. I mean, I don't know you at all basically, only the couple dozen posts we've made in a few games, but I think that's enough for me to be able to make judgment calls about your personal life, right? I thought so too. Anywho, here we are, in a really great PBEM game that you're running so why not share the experience with your new significant other? (or potential SO or casual companion or whatever it is you kids have going) She could take over the Alissa character or maybe Emelda. Trust me, you can learn a lot about a person by how they roleplay (oh, it's all just a game but the warning signs WILL come out). And really, if she's not into this kind of thing, is it really going to work out? I think we all know the answer. So, just something to think about. Why go out to dinner when you can stay home and type together? This article from The Onion described a similar kind of relationship a couple in World of Warcraft aspired to; I think its appeal is obvious. Have a look and I'm sure you'll agree.
