  2. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I just remembered this quote from a long time ago, shamelessly ripped off from The Shadow by our team's mentalist: "Psychically, I'm well endowed."
  3. Re: Would you play… I concur. I've been in two "campaigns" by two different GMs who did this. One took suggestions, the other did not. The one that took suggestions I ended up playing an Earth Elemental and generally enjoyed it during its short span. (It was cancelled simply because we had so many games running and needed to cut back.) The GM that didn't take suggestions I ended up being the last one to discover my powers and not even the full extent of them. We probably played for 5-8 hours once a week for six weeks and I was the only one to not receive my "updated" character sheet because I hadn't learned the full extent of my powers. Three fourths of the campaign was the PCs exploring this vast undergound city-base. While it had a monorail, a theater that had it's own special effects creations, etc., there apparently wasn't anything capable of testing my strength. I wasn't even allowed to roll damage. After having two fights the entire campaign, the GM cancelled it because he ran out of ideas. As to the answer of the question that started this thread, I wouldn't mind trying a third time, but if it didn't go well and the discovery period dragged on, I'd be very bored by it and probably end up leaving that game.
  4. Re: [storytime] Birth of RAVEN
  5. Re: Back by Popular Demand-The Batfox! See. In addition, post 25 (page 2) brought me to Lord Liaden's Storytime: Birth of RAVEN as well. Just thought I'd add that.
  6. Re: Back by Popular Demand-The Batfox! Heh. Nice.
  7. Re: [storytime] Birth of RAVEN Holey Moley! This is not only a great initial concept, but well-thought out introduction. There are just a few changes I would make that I can think of off-hand: 1) Change the name from RAVEN to Raven (the all-caps is overdone, IMHO), 2) include PSI into the fold, either under Menton directly, spread out amongst the members who would want them, or as a special task force for the organization, and 3) include good and perhaps some misguided supers into the organization. There should be a few supers out there who are current caped heroes or maybe some on the sidelines who think that life would be easier and smoother if the physically and intellectually superior beings were in charge. Along with Monsoon and Obelisque, Telios has created Teen Dream (Kristina Speers) from Teen Champions, p. 144-5. I think he created some simulacrum to a winged, fire-breathing tyrannosaurus, but I can't find that write-up. As for Telios being able to create superhumans, while I agree with LL's take, I also believe no one would consier that an option. IMHO, creating a super doesn't necessarily change their DNA. And what's the point in having a superhuman breeder if his/her offspring are going to be...normal.
  8. Re: How would you use Gravitar? Hermit has a Batfox?
  9. Re: How would you use Gravitar? Now this is very interesting. There could also be the "double-cross" at the end where V'han tries to dispose of Gravitar once Earth is conquered (if that happens). The time plot I'm not so interested in, but I do like the above.
  10. Re: from little plot seeds, mighty games do grow: Share you ideas! I like this idea up to here. The rest seems a bit silly to me. Having Blackstar and Gravitar fly around the world on a bad boy/bad girl naughtiness spree could be very interesting, especially if the PCs are international as opposed to just national.
  11. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... During a Yahtzee game (hey, it's still a gaming group!): Mom: "Oh my golnish!" Me: "Did you just say 'oh my garnish'?" Wife: "No, I think it was a cross between 'goodness,' 'lord,' and 'gosh.'" "Well, spank my butt and toot!"
  12. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I have put Firefly and Serenity in my Netflix queue to appease you (and really since it does show as a recommendation). But not you. PS: I also put them at slots 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10, instead of leaving them in 437, 438, 439, 440, and 441, which is where they were once I added them.
  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Well' date=' [i']I[/i] haven't agreed, but then, I don't know who these people are.

    Snowblind?

Re: Snowblind? When criminals in this world appear And break the laws that they should fear And frighten all who see or hear The cry goes up both far and near For Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Speed of lightning, roar of thunder Fighting all who rob or plunder Underdog. Underdog! When in this world the headlines read Of those whose hearts are filled with greed Who rob and steal from those who need To right this wrong with blinding speed Goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Speed of lightning, roar of thunder Fighting all who rob or plunder Underdog. Underdog! Heh, sorry, the mood struck me.
  15. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... The Monty Python reason goes a bit like this: I was watching John Cleese a ways back and he mentioned a time when some Germans came to him/Monty Python asking them to either come perform for them or to create a comedy show (it's been probably 10+ years, so forgive me for the vagueness). They basically came to him and said "We understand you have a sense of humor and are very funny. We are German; we are not funny/we do not."
  16. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Was this by chance said by a German character? (There is a Monty Python reason I'm asking.)
  17. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? Well, yeah.
  18. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
  19. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? I'd like to see Sapphire leave the team because she's dating Scarlet Archer III. And if you don't know who he is, ask Hermit.
  20. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? Yes, the reverse of the lame Marvel trick. Instead of "they never died" it's pretending "they never existed." If CLOWN were killed off, that would be a solid foundation on the argument of "they aren't returning" which people could point out for those who'd like to see CLOWN who's hope for return is mentioned on a near-monthly basis.

  22. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Bah! I'm not Worldmaker. Besides, you have to have a longer (and sometimes less relative) backstory that that.
