  2. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Okay I'm going to call TIME on the Russians. No more Soviet submissions please. Unless someone brings up one even more awesome than those already there. Which could happen. I'd replace one of my 4. anyways.... I was in the USAF for years and I read voraciously.

  5. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine re: Homo Infinitus okay Bob, that's disgusting. In a good way. any origin, schticks, ideas? ======================================= how's this for disgustivating: he's a relic from a museum, not really a person, more of an effect. but still dangerous, definitely necromantic. this is the effect I was going for: caution, kinda gross.

  15. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Middle Earth Game: ======================== "I hear they've got a nice chain of sandwich shops in Moria." "who knows what shiv may lurk amongst the Haradrim" ================================== and don't forget the VAN HEZWYK PRINCIPLE of NAVAL ARCHITECTURE. spend no gold upon the rigging or sails, for they save ye not. Translation: do not ever waste your PC's money on the upgrading of sails or engines of your transportation in an RPG, because the speed at which you get someplace is irrelevant to the encounters the DM plans, and all the mercurial swiftness in the known world can Not help you evade an encounter the DM insists must happen. =================================== We played some LotR wargames: My Ork commander, having won a pyrrhic victory in a heavy battle, sighs at the prospect of carving all the messages to send home to all the grieving goblin moms. In that same battle, my Orks deployed an Assassin. the model I used for said assassin is a goblin princess. (picture a little green woman in a nice dress) during the battle I steadily advanced the Assassin towards the Easterling General, despite all the units around. The Easterlings were run by a new player, who could not seem to comprehend the Assassin's ability to ignore zones of control. Him: how'd she get over here? Me: she doesn't care about other troop formations. later... Him:what is she doing in the middle of my army? Me: look, we told you, Assassins ignore Zone-of-Control. still later.... Him: How did she pass through those spearmen next to my General !?!? Me: look man, she just curtsied her way up there, okay? later on, some of the Easterling riders were forced to retreat from a fierce melee. behind them was a rock formation and another huge melee. in the rules, when a retreat cannot be completed, the unit is destroyed instead. Him: you mean my riders can't find any way out? GM: no they are destroyed. Me: maybe they should have curtsied

  18. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... PANG!!! hits thread on head, to make it come back to its senses. for quotes, you know.... D20 Middle Earth got rained out this week, but next week we'll have more hi-jinx with the Universal Tools, which is what I've unofficially named out adventuring party since everyone wants us to do some sort of spy or provacateur work for them.
  19. Re: Someone Please Explain This to Me? this very discussion is why I put the tag-line I did on this magazine cover....
  20. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Is he a nominee for the Soviet Air Mob ? I have an idea for a specific role for him, if so... or was he just inspired by the previous russian hijinx? Nice Design.
  21. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Maybe I didnt state it obviously, but I was brainstorming on the Rogues Gallery portion of the USA-5O. RUSSIAN VILLAIN TEAM Cyborg now has her place of 'honor' on the Russians page. No, its not going to become "a meta-human for each Russian district" plus I put in credits to the artistas
  22. Re: Your PCs might be Underpowered if... You notice you have even less clout than usual. Then you notice all your Perks and Talents are worded strangely... Wait, that's not a Perk, thats a Feat ?!? Why do I have a Wisdom but no Presence !?!

  24. Re: Your PCs might be Underpowered if... Foxbat sent you an ultimatum online, in Hallmark.com E-Card format, and you're strongly considering what to do about it.
  25. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine RUSSIAN AIR MOB LINK: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dzqpmkt_852fssdthf They have various origins. Some love the old soviet union, some just want to use theirs powers to smash people. Some follow War Kite for the money. This band of heavy mercenaries can strike almost anywhere in the world on a moment's notice, from their old airbase in the Urals. War Kite was an old Soviet fighter pilot, who often escorted Blinder is his long time buddy, a bomber pilot. they've been comrades for decades, and got their superpowers separately and secretly, and it was quite humorous when they finally had to reveal their identities to each other. the others have joined them over the years for various missions and reasons. Bronze Harrier loves War Kite, as much as any 2 super-villains can. Flanker is a mutant, and hates the United States, but hangs out with the others since they tolerate her looks and harsh voice. Her favorite missions are the ones where they smash any American heroes foolish enough to venture onto the continent. Her armor is not a suit. Blinder has a multi-purpose tool with large flash attack, and a cutting beam, and targeting levels usable by others Ravager's origins are cloudy, but definitely mystic. It is believe that she cannot be killed, and she seems to fear no man or device, and tech weapons with fuses, triggers, relays, and switches and such have a distressing tendency to fail in her presence. All of them excel at move-throughs or move bys aka "The Bombing Run" Flogger has mental powers, but they may come from (or be amplified by his armored suit) Kid Dragon is the newest member, and he tries to command the biggest share of any loot, since his armor-piercing fire can be quite deadly, horrendously effective versus men, supers, and machines. their support man is Doctor Levred Landau, a genius with all manner of physical science and technological edges. ===================================== what do you fine folks think of that ?
