  1. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States drum roll please: OKLAHOMA actually he was done 2 weeks ago, but he appeared first in a Haymaker exclusive. so that's all 5O+ sheets published....
  2. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine back off, Bub, I saw her first.
  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... D20 Jokes: Q: Gosh your character has a lot of Feats. A: Yeah I downloaded them from http://www·feats·com which led to .... Feats.Org : the abilities are balanced and follow the rules, but the download is free. Feats.Com : abilities are powerful, and download is $1.95 per level of the character. Feats.Net : abilities are imbalanced, mighty, and contradict basic rules; since the feats were translated from a Korean website by Babel-fish and cost $20 per feat per download.
  4. thread is about quotes; reminiscing is that other thread Middle Earth D20; Week 2: Barbarian Ranger and Gondorian Warrior, working for Saruman.... Plus Snake and William. ======================================================= We're really playing up the "Odd Couple" schtick in our role-playing. He's city, I'm country, He's diplomacy, I'm search and spot, He knows the taste differences between red and rosé, and I know the taste differences between bear and boar scat. His full name is "Brame the Unyeilding, Cadet Prince of Lossarnach ..." plus about 7 more sub titles after that. When I need his attention I just yell Hey Gondor =========================================== in my fight with a Troll, our wizard "Snake" hit him with a blood poison spell, and the side-effects shut down his regeneration. then my character scored a critical hit to the throat on the big green lummox. When the big dummy caught on that this cut was indeed a mortal wound, he squalled and carried on and blubbered till he died. When it stopped being vicious and got all sickened, Killing that Troll didn't feel heroic, and was about as much fun for me as beating a poodle to death with a pizza paddle. So when the Troll finally shut up and died, I whirled around and asked "Snake what in the world...." he described the spell to me and I said "Wow, ya really hit'em where they live, don't ya?" ============================================= between the 2 adventures, we've looted 11 magic rings from various people, and Saruman loaned us 4 minor rings of Endure elements, since we're headed into the desert of Harondor. Gondor took one of the extra rings and put it in his horse's ear, so it would have some extra protection. Well we are playing Lord of the Rings ======================================= my character has a high Search skill, and usually finds all the loot. Gondor has a nickname for my Natural 20 rolled while attempting this skill: Full Cavity Search ========================================= We're in Rohan, headed South into Gondor. I suggested we use The Old Shortcut. ====================================== plus everyone's seen the bumper sticker, or t-shirt "Pillage First, Then Burn" well our heroes actually didnt follow that last night. We got ambushed by Orks, in the middle of Rohan, and of course eventually slaughtered them (great cleave, ya know). so we took their chainmail and a little loot, and made a pyramid of the bodies, and burned them in a huge bonfire. Later that afternoon we run into some Rohirrim border guards, and we exchange pleasantries, and they ask about the smoke, and we tell them why, and they remark "you fellows will be wealthy at that rate" Why no, we say, they only carried a few silver.... that's when they laughingly told us about the bounty on Ork ears set by the King of Rohan. we had torched a few weeks pay back there.
  5. Re: Competition from Marvel ? my buddy Bob and I laughed our butts off last night... (Bob owns a comic store, and I worked at one for 9 years) ... discussing exactly what Pheemy just said, and Then .... he got an idea. An awful idea. The Grinch got a wonderful, awful idea. get a bunch of buddies, and make accounts in Marvel, and then build Defender, Grond, Solitaire, Istvatha, Feur, Slug, Talisman, etc. etc.
  6. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States arizona was done by the talented HERMIT, right here
  7. Re: What would your Character Be: Tiger Squad Cosmo Knite is a lawyer and a focus grubber, shamed on national television: so in China he beomes: Yǔzhòuxiàn Pixiang (cosmic suitcase) and was exiled to Tibet after failing the Party for the next-to-the last time. In Tibet of course he finds his first magic item, fakes up a super-suit, and attempts to be the darling of Beijing by defending the motherland from all enemies foreign and domestic. ======================================== White Knite is an empathic police-man with Green-Lantern type VPP; so in China he becomes: Dàxiào Běifāng (Colonel North) and he patrols the Mongolian and Siberian lands with his arctic, snow, glacial and winter effects power pool, granted to him by the Ice-Demons, whom he tricked into a focus gem. The demons pay off their karmic debts by helping him to collar the outlaw. Perhaps the Colonel will say a few words for them in the afterlife if they redeem themselves with actions now? ============================= Sandor the Mystic is an Atlantean Sorceror with an odd power set. Chinese Version: Shenchu-Ban (Abyssal Flounder) was born of the daughter of the Last Emperor, and of a Lemurian Merchant. They met in 1930 in Bali, and Sandor grew up in various locales in and under the Pacific Rim. Always hunted by the Communists who fear his reasonably legitimate claim to royalty, he fights crime in China always in various forms or alter egos. His favorite trick is to assume the form of a sea creature such as a skate and then eavesdrop on Navy vessels, or chat with important people while in animal disguise, and then no-one will believe their claims. good thread! originals are here
  8. some people's kids..... Okay here's the flag of Arizona... Striking right ? -------------------- now here's the champion of Arizona: now to me, that is a beautiful picture, quite the homage to the flag, and evidence of more good work from Mr. Hermit. ----------------------- so in my mailbox today I get some screed from someone I will not name, ( and they probably were from another venue than Hero) and they were haranguing me on how I "should have used the AZ state flag in her costume" & "should not modify things" and "if ever a flag deserved to be a hero costume its the beautiful AZ one" please note I've corrected the person's spelling and grammar errors in my quotes. they were obviously hurried and angry while posting so they forgot to proofread, but that's not the funny part. is it just me or isnt this person way off track here? anyways, this is only the second ever negative thing I've ever gotten as regards the project, so I just want to reiterate: thanks to all who watch and enjoy and contribute.
  9. Re: Your PCs might be Underpowered if... The Villain puts your Image on some UNDEROOS, makes a million dollars off you, and your lawyer says, "There's nothing you or I can do..."

  15. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States current project is to find someone who wants to publish this as an adventure module. cause if the answer is yes, I edit it up for the book way, and if the answer is no, I edit it all a different way for an online presence. so we've plateaued for a bit, unless people want to submit ideas for a ROGUE's GALLERY

  18. what about a hunting outfit ? Hey Pariah! Remember this guy above? Now, if we called that costume his "formal dress blues", or "street-wear" then what might he look like out in the fields and valleys, , with some kind of camo, or ghillie suit, or whatever ?

  23. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Middle Earth D20: Ranger Samuel, the Northern Barbarian Warrior Brame, Prince of Gondor. Adept Snake, the Mannish Magician Farmer William, the Man-at-Arms from Adorn (low level) Saruman's steward is outfitting us the adventurer's for our task, handing out items to help in the hard desert of Harondor: Steward says quietly: Is this uh, William, a notable member of your group? Samuel: well, we have a belief that in adventuring groups, the lesser member mays have some role that destiny will call them forth to play, so the correct answer is: no and yes.
