  1. Re: Something we should all look into.. Hey, cool!! The outfit seems more "dress uniform" than I would've expected for the warrior of the group, but then again it gives it a bit of that "Sakura Taisen (Wars)" look; which is always welcome! 1 question and 1 critique... (Q) Are those pom-poms on her boots? © If possible, more hair. Not sure the limitations of the software, but I kinda picture an anime-exaggerated Lara Croft-like braided ponytail. Again, way cool!! Thanks!! -Yogzilla

  3. Re: What are his powers...? It's definitely reminiscent of the classic Dr Spectrum costume...

  5. Re: Superhero school rules Check the comic book series... PS238 ...full of great ideas, great characters, great stories, etc etc great-etc
  6. Re: Please Suggest Names for a Hulk Tribute Character Or, just go with the obvious... The Monster

  8. Re: The dreaded Pokemon question... Well, in a way, that's what I'm trying to avoid. Some characters will have the ability to "seal away" creatures in the campaign, but there's no drama/action if they do that as their first action. Similarly, I don't want to be the GM who says, "You can't do it this turn. Why? You just can't; that's the way it works." Bleagh... So, I'm looking for a game mechanics method for keeping creatures from being sealed away unless they are weak (i.e. low HPs, stunned, etc.). [...from other posts...] I'm not as thrilled with the Vulnerability-w/-limitation as that just means the creature is MORE likely to be sealed away. I want to make sure it *can't* be sealed away unless it's weakened first... Oh, and don't get too wrapped up in the Pokemon example -- once sealed away (in my campaign), they don't get summoned to fight for the player.
  9. No, I'm not trying to write up Pokemon in Hero5, but it alas is the best (and widely known) example for me to use; so please bear with me. How would you write up a creature that can be "sealed away", but only after it's been "worn down"?? In Pokemon, you can't hope to capture one just by tossing a pokeball at it; first you have to battle it, then, when it's weak (HPs in the red), that's when you toss the pokeball. I need to simulate this in my upcoming campaign. Any ideas? -Yogzilla
  10. Re: Iyo: The Most Underrated Or Underused Character In Comics E-Man and Nova If you know WHO I mean, you know WHAT I mean... :-D
  11. Re: Supers without costumes You mean the Fantastic Four?
  12. Re: Election Day Special - The Best Artist In Comics I've always been very partial to the work of Alan Davis. Alex Ross adds just that touch of realism that makes his work breathtaking. George Perez is also tops on my list. And they don't call him "King" Kirby for nothing... :-) And, of course, there's plenty more than I'm neglecting to name, but the respect is most assuredly there.
  13. Re: What graphic novels should I get? I'm surprised no one's yet mentioned Marvels (Busiek/Ross)
  14. Re: How to encourage role playing For a group of very different types of heroes, you can also use the old "natural disaster" chestnut... Either the heroes can try and stop it from happening, or perhaps just save as many people as possible while it's happening, or even rescue those affected by it after it's happened. Or a combo of all 3!! And if it's big enough, you can even throw in some of those tortuous decisions - - "Even with your great speed, you can't save both of them. So which is it, hero?"
  15. Re: What If . . . Superman Farmer. I mean, would Clark really want to throw away all that Johnathon and his family (ancestors) has spent generations working at? And working the earth... That's a good and honorable profession...

    1602

Re: 1602 I didn't realize it was Cap until he came out and said so... last issue... Sigh; I've gotten so bad at this in my old age...
  17. Re: Another Take on the Animated Justice League I've always thought that Wonder Woman should definitely have something like the following... Aid - +x to STR, Self Only, Incantations (i.e. "Hera, give me strength!") ...which would, of course, answer Hawkgirl's question. :-D -Yogzilla
  18. Re: Tell me about you're JLA Neither of these two groups are actually my A-team, but 1 is directly inspired by the JLA and the other is the most frequent NPC supergroup to make appearances in my game... (1) In an effort to save herself for the oncoming destruction of Earth (my big summer spectacular, if you will), Ritual, a mystic of considerable power, kidnaps one of the mystic guardians of reality to fuel her escape spell. One of the other guardians 'senses' the danger, and the PCs are off to rescue their collegue. But Ritual was expecting this (divination spell), and set up a counter force made up of... Golem - super-strong and nigh invulnerable Chiroptera - green beret mystically endowed w/ bat characteristics (i.e. wings, radar, etc) Nike - greek goddess inhabiting/animating a statue of herself Radiance - being of pure light; thus moves at lightspeed SilverScreen - aged actor who regains youth and can assume any role he's ever played (and he's played many!), taking on the appropriate characteristics of that role T1 - a cyber-telepath; can link with human minds as well as computer systems; constantly mindlinked to the Internet - this causes his behavior to be rather alien; favored attack: 'spamming' his opponent's mind WaterBoy - Ritual's disciple (favoring water magicks) and huge Adam Sandler fan [all the PCs were glad when he got gack'd ] (2)EMVI (pronounced 'ee-em-six') (stands for 'Exxon-Mobil 6'; team started as more a PR exercise, but has since tried to become a serious supergroup; all female membership(!)) Shadoe - Exxon-Mobil CEO, martial arts master, uses stealth suit and various gimmicks to try and atone for her parents' deaths (which she feels responsible for, but, in fact, is not) Amazon - super-strong, super-fast, super-durable, EXTRA-super-gorgeous, innate aptitude with melee weapons and sports(!) Electric Blue - NYPD sergeant who can convert into living lightning; also some cyberkinesis (stronger if she actually 'enters' a computer system) Eternal Flame - stuntwoman with enhanced resistance to fire; also possesses flame projection Mach - typical southern belle-type with accelerated metabolism (can't actually propel herself at super-speeds, but otherwise does everything at greatly enhanced rate) Doc - smartest girl in the world, though a little absent-minded and still rather naive; some of her inventions frighten even the PCs () -Yogzilla
  19. Re: Where does this lim/disad go? Then perhaps buy it that way... +20 STR, OIHID +10 STR, OIHID, Only when changed using device ...though more and more I like the Aid idea suggested by OddHat. -Yogzilla
  20. Re: Games gone awry I once killed off all the PCs in an immortals campaign within 2hrs of it starting. Not on purpose, mind you, but the GM *still* won't let me live it down. Sigh... -Yogzilla
  21. Re: Looking for NEW words of transformation: (SHAZAM, Thunder! Thunder!...) Sounds to me what you should have is a quantum physics equation that he recites to activate his powers. That, or a ready supply of Jolt cola. Ah; sorry, got carried away. In order, they are... "Moon Prism Power MAKE UP!" "Souchaku!" "Henshin!" "Cosmos!" "Emergency! DekaRanger!" They are all phrases that *must* be used (and almost all also require gestures, as well) to transform in the most recent Japanese tokusatsu (live action spfx) shows: Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Gransazers, Masked Rider Blade, Ultraman Cosmos, and Special Police DekaRanger. -Yogzilla
  22. Re: Looking for NEW words of transformation: (SHAZAM, Thunder! Thunder!...) Let's not forget... 「ムーン プリズムパワー メイクアップ!」 「装着!」 「返信!」 「コスモス!」 「エマージェンシー!デカレンジャー!」 ...to name just a couple recent ones. -Yogzilla
  23. Re: Looking for NEW words of transformation: (SHAZAM, Thunder! Thunder!...) Ah, those are easy... Let's see if anyone out there can identify the hero (and secret identity) who powered-up using the phrase "Khaji-Dah!" And in 'Science Ninja Team GATCHAMAN', they said "Bird Go!" -Yogzilla
  24. A friend of mine presented me with the following challenge (and I thought it a fun enough exercise to post here)... Build Sauron as a Fantasy Hero character before he lost the One Ring - and make sure that when he does lose it he becomes appropriately diminished. Point cost is not an issue. ...of course, I'm also still working on his Champions challenge of building the Silver Age Superman... -Yogzilla
  25. First Champions character actually started out as a V&V character, but we switched systems within 6months, so I still count it. Power Knight A flying brick with energy blasts and enhanced sensor suite (built into his 'visor' - think nifty sunglasses). -Yogzilla
