It's almost as if these film studios are heavyweight boxers fixing to pummel your childhood (or newer!) memories like a red-headed stepchild stuffed into a punching bag.

Agreed. She's still too "sterotypical modern day thin model" in appearance.

I think her being the daughter of Zues makes more sense in the mythological context and for how powerful she is and how favored amongst the gods. She has held the position od several gods (Justice and now War) and it doesnt make sense to me that a simulacrum would be given such lofty positions in the Olympian hierarchy.

Different strokes for different folks. To me it is more slaughter of characters and backgrounds just because they can. And get off my lawn ya damned whippersnappers!

I would lean really hard towards A springfield Armory XD, possibly the XDs with the 4 inch barrel.   I actually like the .45 acp a lot, partially because I already have one, but either 9mm or .40 are good.   .40 may be the best overall balance, but due to the higher pressure, both have a sharper report than a .45, which "booms" more than Cracks, in my opinion.   A good .357 magnum is almost always a good choice, the .38 spl is about the level most people can handle easily. (The Ruger LCR is sweet), One that is a little longer, but I want one is the Ruger SP101 in .327 Federal with the 4" barrel.  Not quite as good for concealment, heavier, but...    One that might work for some people is the Keltec PMR-30  It is fairly small, quite light, and holds 30 rounds of .22 magnum. Some of the modern loads seem to behave similarly to a .38 spl in gelatin pen and expansion, and recoil should be very tolerable.   http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/08/jeremy-s/gun-review-kel-tec-pmr-30/

... oooooooooonly a factor of 880 above the legal limit? Just because they changed water supply? Was it within legal limit before?

    Dear politician types:

There are a few things dealt with by the governmental sector ... like public utilities ... where real, actual physics and therefore technical competence matter. I recognize that you are not equipped to recognize that anything more than a**-kissing and payola can ever matter (much less have anything like said technical competence), but in these special cases, they do. Before going into such a role, take a class so that you might actually be able to fake it long enough to pass the blame to an underling.

    Cheers,
    Dr. Cancer

++.  I've had problems with credit unions making simple arithmetic errors, but they just don't seem to have the f__k-you attitude that banks do.

    My week:

Two-day business trip to Baltimore + lack of sleep in strange bed + whirlwind tour of every frickin' elementary school and community center in the city + cramped flight cabin, turbulence and sinus pressure + mental stress of catching up on work when I get back + additional mental stress of bailing out a friend about to have her car repossessed = a cold, and a weekend evidently going to be spent recovering at home.

Now that I see the complete formula, the result makes sense.

It could be my imagination, but it does seem that when it comes to charging the police, they don't go for the 'lesser crimes'. Its either premeditated murder or nada... 'cop tried for assault' or 'negligent homicide' is something I don't see very often. It seems they review stuff, decide it wasn't willful preplanned evil...so.. you know, no harm no foul...
    which as me going 'what?'

Because when most citizens are arrested, prosecution tends to pile up on a many different levels of charges so if you escape one, you still might get busted on the other

Just the idea that there are humans on the planet that would think of this as an appropriate punishment for someone else's crime, let alone any other crime. . . Humans seem to have some very serious design flaws.

This one should have been expected.  Turkey had warned Russia about previous incursions into its territory.   And remember, this was not some airliner that drifted off course.  It was a Combat jet carrying out combat operations.

And I have the impression that Erdogan has been at least philosophically and probably covertly supporting the ISIL forces...  He certainly was happy to let them slaughter a majority Kurd town within view of the border, and the tanks he had stationed there...     And there seems to have been little effort to stop militants filtering over the border to assist ISIL...

Putin is imo a THUG.   Erdogan imo is also a thug, an Islamist who has been doing his best to destroy the Turkish Secular state.   He lost an election to a Pro Kurdish party, and hmmm  a bomb goes off, supposedly set by the Kurds, and fighting breaks out there.   He holds another election, and wins...  FUNNIEST THING...

They have to blame Snowden because nobody knows how the thing was planned and they are thrashing around for answers. They are assuming that the operation was carried out with radio contact and so forth. The fact of the matter is this could be a set of independent groups given different targets and told to carry it out. There would be nothing to surveil electronically except for phone calls and if you didn't have number to tap, then you got nothing.

Like the stingray that the FBI loaned to local police. Track like 50k calls in its radius I think, but if you don't have the number, the call you want  just comes in like all the rest, so the machine is only good if you have a start up number.

Surveillance and electronic intrusion is worthless until you have something as a starting point. These politicians either don't know that which I find hard to believe after Watergate, or willfully ignorant to make themselves look good before they know what's going on.
