  7. Re: Create a Hero Theme Team! Sometimes what it takes to change sides is a bullet in the head. Nightside was one of the villains who had been arounda bit and fought various heroes and agencies. Apart from his energy controlling powers he was renowned for his pompous grandiose speeches. What changed his life was a simple bodyguard job. He was minding a supplier who was negotiating with bikers and at a tense moment guns were produced by the bikers. Nightside got as far as 'Wait ! Relax !' when one of the bikers who was drunklost their footing, fell backwards and ended up discharging his gun into Nightside's head. Everyone paniced and fled leaving the villain apparantly dead. He was put into hospital and the bullet was removed. However Nightside no longer knew who he was, where he grew up and what had gotten him into super villainy in the first place. Although he was put on trial the judge decided to waive the whole process if Nightside went into 2nd Chance voluntarily. He did. Now he uses his energy powers for good and his scientific know how to help the team. He has also had a ego defense device made to prevent people from implanting false memories or trying to convince him he did things years before.
  8. Re: Complicate the Person Above The Main Man and his ambition to be thefirst man on the Sun. Doomed to failure from the start
  9. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! The rich are held to a different standard than the rest of us. It's true that people look at them with envy and if they are your employer with fear more than admiration as those that are employers tend to be ruthless. Such is the case with Andrew Williams. But he himself envied those that could mix with people, encourage and delight them. Bad enough when these people are actors or sports stars but superheroes ? People who had other jobs, who were not part of what the British termed the Establishment, who would risk their lives to save the country, the world or just one child and they were adored by the general public, feted by the media and politicians and respected by those with money, lives true movers and shakers. Andrew himself did not stand out enough. He had money but not at the level others did. His name was not remarkable enough. His achievements in business neither kindly enough (as a white knight for example) or ruthless enough (like the worst asset strippers). To be thought of as just a part of the general crowd was a malaise on his soul. His own corruption started early enough when he became aware of some of the Rich and Powerful being collectors. Not just of animals like hunters on safari but of people. It is quite something to see a hero in action pose as part of a private museum and knowing that their dead body was part of the taxidermist's art. But oh so much more when it is a woman particularly a good looking woman, nude, usually frozen in ice either living or dead as part of your hidden treasure. That was something. Andrew felt though he could go one better. Why not turn the great idols into the things they hated ? How ? Certainly he had the money but not the communication skills, the raw power or the mental finesse. And then itcame to him. He would be the Backer. The one that brought the people together and set them upto do the business. There was a niche market. Their was an opportunity. And that was how it started. Andrew has had to dispose of members of the Corruption before who tried to take over or who were making their activities too well known so the rest know that he is not someone to mess with. Especially as he seems to know someone or something called The Thief of Everything. Andrew has also had to be careful about his own Collection after other Collectors had their activities exposed. Not all villains or heroes are merciful if they find out you have hurt their friends, cmrades and loved ones.
  10. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Enforcer84 is actually an enforcer for Al Capone VI
  11. Re: Sherlock (the New BBC series) One of the League of Gentlemen, Mark Gatiss (sp?), was responsible for the writing and appears as Holmes's brother. The only link to a story I have caught so far and that was because it stands out like a sore thumb was The Bruce Partington Plans and the disposal of the body. But it does have a depth as Holmes demonstrates how he gets from A to B. And part of that is the ability to reconcile lots of information and remember it.
  12. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Walt Simonson is The Viking. Outside of the SCA events perfectly affable and likeable. But when he gets the costume on he got unpleasent. Like a real Viking, rape and pillage. What got him kicked out was the racism he exhibited against non-Caucasians and the attempts to cripple them in game. Although he has a lawyer to defend him, he has joined the others in The Robber Barons in going to work as a criminal. Oddly enough he gets on well with Lady Blackwing due to the religous arguments.

  24. Re: Complicate the Person Above Narratio and his cookery show, 'Cooking in Quicksand'
  25. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! The Hoxton Creeper. He's big and ugly and just seems to stand there looking menacing. But once his hands are around your throat that could be the end of you. But he likes a pretty woman although many of them are scared of him. He is named after a character in a Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes movie featuring the six Napoleon busts. The Shadow Prince is very careful of him mindful of what befell the master in the Holmes movie.
