This week's award goes to Chris, for: "In my experience, Neanderthals *always* attack aliens."

This replaces the previous title-holder, from Jason: "I made my INT roll, and I've decided to do it anyway." dw

Opening Day - the two words bring a smile to my face every time. Like "Vegas" and "Honey, I made bracciole for dinner."

I look forward to opening day all winter. Thirty guys, arriving promptly at ten in the morning and ready to go. By ten thirty the grills are going full force and the beer is flowing. I get to see guys I haven't seen since last opening day and probably won't see again until the next opening day. We greet each other as best of friends anyway.

One of my fraternity brothers (eight of us formed the core of this annual event group ten years ago) summed it up as, "Ah, the gluttony that is Opening Day." And he's right. Let's see: burger, burger, drumstick, sausage sandwich, sausage sandwich, drumstick, seven innings of baseball, burger, double-burger, chicken cutlet sandwich, sausage sandwich, devil dog, devil dog. Sprinkle about twenty-five Buds throughout. And throw in 4-6 random individual sausage links eaten off a fork with no bun - those are difficult to keep track of.

Well, another opening day came and went yesterday. I mourn it's passing as intensely as I revel in it's afterglow. And now I'm off to the store for more Alka-Seltzer.

Just thought I would start a thread for anyone who wanted to post thier images of their characters. This is not a critique thread. I'm not an artist and the images I post are simply templates with a bunch of cut and paste with some shoestring and leather attached. (8^D)

This thread is for those who wish to share thier artwork. However, please do not critique any artwork unless the artist asks for it. Thanks. (8^D)

I updated the background on my Cavalier picture, with a brighter skyline. I also attached the Herodesigner character. He's 5th ed., 350 base, and some experience. Tell me what you think.

For me, "Something from the Nightside" by Simon R. Green stands out. Fast paced urban fantasy with interesting characters. Sequel is "Agents of Light and Darkness".

I give it an "8" out of 10.

Okay, it's been awhile, and I confess I lost a bit of interest when it drifted away from the 5E Universe (Nothing personal, just that's the one I use) but I'll take a stab. Oh, and Foxx had a Cheshire Cat one above, nice.

    Cheshire Cat
    1) Curiosity Woke the Dragon: Cheshire Cat loves his teleportation powers, but he's prouder still of his martial prowess. After all, he worked hard for them. There's little he likes more than proving his superiority over other martial artists in masks. Imagine his surprise when as he gets ready to challenge one (Green Dragon makes a good canidate) he hears of some Tournament of the Dragon and ultimate fight? Deciding he's GOT to get in on this, he seeks out and finds the a location said to lead to this 'dragon'. It's sealed, and seemingly impregnable as "the time is not yet right". Pshaw, that's no barrier to a teleporter. Cheshire Cat, at the height of one of his confident moodswings decides just to teleport in. Seeing what awaits him, he quickly gets the heck out of there... but the Dragon follows. The time is indeed, "not right" and the Death Dragon is loose before the Fates decreed. The PCs must find a way to trick the Dragon back to the temple, a way that may require the same cat who foolishly let it out in the first place!

    2) Can't Buy Me Love: A variation on the second plot seed of pg. 85 in CKC, Cheshire Cat's Ex discovers that her former husband recently scored and scored big. Her mercenary little heart decides to seduce him so she can share the wealth, and none of the risk. She attempts to convince the PCs that she is sincere in her love, and needs their help to 'rehabilitate' him. Should they fall for it, she'll either arrange for his capture (after learning from him where his loot is kept), or betray the heroes to live the high life while letting Robert do the dirty work. She might even wean him away from GRAB. Naturally, the ladies of GRAB are more likely to see her for the gold digger she is but besmitten Robert is deaf to their hints. Can the PCs figure out the ruse? And what happens when/if Cheshire discovers his heart is being played with? He's got a code vs killing, but his revenge might be terrible nonetheless.

    3) Reactor S.O.S. Cheshire Cat used to be a Nuclear Reactor tech. They really haven't changed that much, and his identity is public. When a group of Terrorists realize that his blend of knowledge and powers mean he can infiltrate any reactor in America and sabatoge it for them, they decide to enlist his aid. Knowing he's 'squeemish', they get some leverage. Perhaps his ex wife, perhaps a fellow GRAB member, and hold her hostage. Now Cat is trapped, he won't kill.. especially on that grand a scale, yet he has to save the hostage while under the terrorists' watchful eyes. If they spot him trying to contact the heroes, they'll surely kill the hostage and run. Cat hits on a plan, in the days before the terrorist act will be required, he goes on a crime spree that's bigger than he's ever been on... leaving hints and clues all the way. Can the PCs put the pieces together and help Robert out, or will he be forced to risk a loved one rather than kill millions?

I feel the need to spew random thoughts onto a public board from time to time so I thought I'd start up a thread to do it. Of course everyone else is welcome to spew here also--the only rule is that you cannot reply to someone else's post. Each post should have as little to do with the others as possible.

This idea, while not my original creation, is one I have seen used in other places, which I thought would be fun. Rather than asking a question and having others post the answer, then another question - you post an answer, somebody provided the question, then gives another question. Kinda like Jeapordy. One other thing, the answers & questions are not meant to be taken to seriously - let your imagination soar. Let me give a few past examples to get things started.

    Answer: 97.5

Question: What is the aprroximate size, in astronomical units, of Bill Clinton's libido?

Answer: Prof. Plum, in the study, with the rope.

Question: What is only slightly less kinky than Ms. Scarlet, in the bedroom with the candlestick.

Answer: A Canadian Moose, but not George W. Bush.

Question: Out of this pair, who is more likely to know the Capital of Canada?

Ok, then. Let us get started with the question for this answer:

Answer: Orcs, Elves and Donald Duck.
